Nice hotel close to the beach and town.

Posted Mar 8, 2017
Pros: Loves the location to beach and town.
Cons: Rooms need a deep clean, bathroom doors need to be solid and cleaned.
Location: Great location, within walking distance to shopping and sight seeing.
This small, intimate resort is right on the beach but also close to town. Loved the location, nice walk to a lot of shopping and sight seeing. The beach is nice and the pools are large enough. The food was very good and the entertainment was OK. The rooms were nice but need a deep cleaning, and the bathrooms need exhaust fans and solid doors.

Great downtown location, small resort.

Posted Mar 5, 2017
The location of the hotel is perfect if you like to leave your resort and head into town for food, shopping and entertainment, but budget for that. We first got a room with 2 double beds and changed for a king room looking over the street that we could hear the traffic in our room all night. The staff was very friendly and gave good service. Unfortunately, we did not care for the food at all. The restaurant that turns upscale in the evening requires a reservation that morning and the food was ok (except for dessert was inedible) and it only has a couple items to choose from. The worst part of this hotel is the size compared to other all inclusive places we have stayed. There are MANY retired folks that stay several weeks and months at a time. They take all of the few poolside chairs by 4am and leave their belongs all day even when they go to town. There are usually a couple lounges at the beach a few rows back, which for us was better given all of the smokers at the pool. We had a nice time, since the good resort price, we weren't too put out eating at restaurants in town. We would not stay again.

First time to Puerto Vallarta

Posted Mar 2, 2017
Pros: The staff are ALL wonderful. A million compliments to all staff! Loved the activity guys--energetic, funny, they really want you to have a good time.
Cons: Pool chairs, and bathroom hardware, woodwork and tile could use some updating.
Location: Easy walk to old town. Bars, restaurants, and shopping nearby. The paved walk along the beach was very nice. Gray Line tour nice also.
Hotel location, setting, food, pools, beach, gardens, lobby, and guest rooms all very nice. The staff are wonderful. Everyone -- EVERY employee -- was gracious, welcoming, friendly, professional, helpful, and genuinely kind. The hospitality of Buenaventura sets it apart from many places I have visited. Some things are well-worn but the hotel is clean, comfortable, and safe. Great value overall.

Like they all say, great location

Posted Feb 27, 2017
Pros: Location, and friendly staff.
Cons: Keep the maintenance up.
As usual when we go here, regardless of whether you request a balcony or not, we always have to move in a day or so. This is a little frustrating. They are willing to move you eventually. We had a serious room malfunction, and the manager" Hestler" in English, was on duty and made it right immediately. Very excellent service indeed. Its a bit older but a great place to stay. Staff is very friendly,Ricardo, and Leticia in the buffet are fun, look for them. The bell men are great at their job, and are good people to just talk to.

Great hotel.

This was our first time staying at this hotel! We found it close to downtown, a short walk! It's right on the beach. Rooms were clean and nicely stocked. The food was a great variety and would appeal to almost everyone!

Great location for us

Posted Feb 23, 2017
Pros: The now familiar surroundings
Cons: More attention given to our request for particular rooms. There should be no excuses for not getting what we ask for in view of our early bookings
Location: Again, that depends on what people like to do. For us, the whole city is open for exploration. You can use the local transit system to get around
This was our sixth visit at that hotel. We feel safe and comfortable there and some of the staff recognize us. Overall, the location of this hotel allows us to partake in our favorite activity, walking around town and exploring its many facets, including up and down the mountain sides.

Location: The location is good. You can walk into old town and there are some very good restaurants a block away when you get tired of eating the all-inclusive
We paid for two, deluxe ocean view rooms 6 months in advance and requested 2 specific rooms which the previous manager told us we could get with at minimum of 6 weeks notice. We gave 6 months' notice. Our flight out of YVR was cancelled due to bad weather but we called expedia and they advised the hotel we would be a day late. Our rooms were paid for so we did not worry. We arrived on Thursday and were told they did not have our deluxe ocean view rooms available until Saturday. We paid for our deluxe ocean view rooms for Wed - Friday and obviously the hotel received payment for those same rooms from someone else as well. We have not received any kind of refund to date.

Great hotel close to the Malecon.

Posted Feb 21, 2017
Pros: The staff was great and the food was excellent. Jonathan at the Sunset Grill was wonderful. I am a bit of a "foodie" and found the food both delicious
Cons: The entertainment could be better. I would recommend putting a nightlight in the bathrooms.
Location: Such a great location. You can walk to the Malecon and explore the old town.
We had a wonderful, stress free vacation. When we arrived we were not given the room I had booked but the staff quickly corrected the mistake. The beach area was clean and we had sunny weather all but one day of our 10 day stay. The staff was always upbeat and friendly. We also met alot of wonderful people , new friends.

Great value

Had a wonderful 6 night stay. Beach and downtown at fingertips. Always felt safe and welcomed even at night. Food was very good. Only thing they need to add is a soft serve ice cream dispenser. It was truly a stress free vacation. We actually got close to a family of whales on our half day watching boat ride. And what sunsets! We will return.

expedia sale of this room misleading

Posted Feb 18, 2017
Pros: staff food location
Cons: misleading advertising by expedia
1. Superior deluxe dose not mean ocean view it means view of wall, no king size bed and two double beds 2. free and fully stocked mini bar means two corona lights, no other alcohol and a couple cans of coke and spite and two waters i thought this hotel was very expensive, although the staff and food and location were ideal thank you
