      Update needed

If one is looking for a quiet place to relax, come to La Cruz. The back yard was well maintained except for a patch of dirt under the out door table. Inside of the house would benefit from an upgrade. The only TV was in a bedroom making it difficult for four people to watch a program. Linens and bedding were very worn.

        Lovely and Relaxing house

My husband and I stayed at this house for 5 days. The house is near to the beach (walking distance) and near a lot of small stores and restaurants at the town. We truly enjoyed the experience, the fact that is completely closed and private was a plus since we had 2 curious dogs that we took on our vacation (YES, it is pet friendly!!) Rick is a great host, he checked in frequently (by phone) to make sure we didn't need anything. Also, I was able to work remotely from the house, the wifi signal was excellent :) I am not sure who enjoyed it the most, we or our dogs! Thank you for the excellent stay

          Relaxing stay

Loved this place. Rick was in contact to make sure everything was satisfactory. The grounds staff were pleasant and courteous. Since we stayed during the slow season the town was very quiet (aside from a weekend festival that was not quiet!) but that's why I go to Mexico, to immerse in the culture and get away from the American tourists that flock to the busier, larger towns and resorts. The only suggestion I have is to have another cooling source during the hot, humid, windless days/nights...even a box fan to keep the air flowing in the house. Outside of the AC in the bedroom, it was extremely warm in the house. However, this in no way would dissuade me from returning and/or recommending this as a place to visit. I hope to come back ASAP.

            Very Relaxing Chillout House

My sister and I came here with my boxer to literally do nothing for a week and that is exactly what we did. The check in and check out process was seamless via a lockbox and extremely detailed instructions with pictures laid out pretty much anything you would need to know. For us the house was perfect and extremely close to the harbor and walk-able to the beach which was almost completely empty. Amazing. Walking out of my bedroom and hopping into the pool was the best. The house for us (2 people) was quite large. The house itself is neither new nor especially luxurious but for the price and amenities I think it's quite a bargain. Also, I have to say coming with my dog for me was a huge plus and she loved the spacious back yard. I think we will definitely be back.

If you’re looking for a cultural experience and an amazing backyard with a private pool, this is it!

We loved the beautiful yard with pool. My husband loves tinkering with things so he enjoyed watering the yard. The fence around the yard is 8 feet tall so there is tons of privacy in a quiet neighborhood. You will hear roosters crowing in the mornings while drinking your coffee!!! We saw iguanas crossing the streets a few blocks away when we walked to dinner. We had a great time looking at the yachts when we walked to the marina. Things to keep in mind...the vines growing on the house are gorgeous; however, they do provide a home to lizards and spiders. The glass doors provide indoor/outdoor living, but they don’t seal on the bottom like homes in America so the lizards and spiders get into the house. We ended up having fun with it and made bets on who would see them first. We named them Marco & Polo! The spiders are the size of an adults palm of your hand, but we killed those. The owners were available when we needed to contact them. Some little things that would make a big difference to Americans coming on vacation would be large kitchen trash bags upon arrival, grilling tools, and a vacuum cleaner. One other thing you might consider is putting some kind of tile or backsplash in the kitchen. When people have cooked, food splattered on the walls and it won’t wash off. Overall, we have stayed in resorts in Puerto Vallarta and would prefer this over the resorts. The backyard is what makes this place along with the culture within this neighborhood!!!!
