Evacuation on vacation

First time to Mexico, Checked in Monday and by Wednesday they warned me I need to be out of the room for maintenance work on Thursday. This hotel should not have been available to stay for those 6 days. Would have booked elsewhere. How do you kick a person out of their room from 11-4?! I checked out early Wednesday, even though I had the reservation till Saturday. I need a room to rest in. Luckily I had a friend to stay with at Villa del Palmer for remaining days of trip.

Dear Savanna, Thank you for adding copies of both notes. The first note was about a drill we do at the hotel and it was optional for you to participate or not. The second one was not an evacuation, it was to inform you gas supply was going to be cut so the stove in your room was not going to work. Therefore we offerd you a 15% discount on food and beverages. You were not being evacuated from your room at all. We are sorry this information was confusiong for you.

Beautiful views

Pros: The views, the restaurant, the wait staff
Cons: Getting rid of the pushy time share people
Location: The location isn't really near anything else, it will all require a bus or cab ride which both are very cheap
We just returned from 5 days here. It was a great hotel the perfect distance from downtown Puerto Vallarta. The restaurant and snack shop were both great and the bar was all we could ask for. The bathroom in our room is about the only complaint I have about the actual hotel. It just was missing a finishing touch or two. My biggest complaint would be about the time share people they have who intercept you immediately after checking in. After having spent the last 12 hours traveling I really don't want to be pressured into waking up the next morning for a 90 minute presentation. They offer you some nice compensation for attending but the pressure to attend alone in itself is too much. If I was to ever return to P V, I would consider staying here again. Don't go with any intentions of really swimming in the ocean though. It's a very rocky beach and the water hurts because its filled with tiny rocks so every wave hurts.

Hi Laura, Thank you for your comments. We will pass them on to the General Manager. The tide is tricky...it really depends on the moon...for the last couple of days the ocean has been extremly calmed. Hopefully next time you visit you will be able to swim and enjoy some snorkleing in our lagoon.

Location is great - close enough to the action, but separate enough to be peaceful. Staff is great. Rooms close to the pool area are noisy, particularly when there's a wedding or a band. Food is okay.

Beautiful location, on the ocean, south of town.

We enjoyed being right on the ocean. There isn't a huge beach, so you can't go for long walks, and it's about ten minutes from old town by cab or bus (which you can pick up right across the street). But we wanted to be right on the beach and we got what we were looking for. The staff couldn't have been nicer - they really were wonderful. The 8th floor has been upgraded and the rooms are modern and lovely. But the balconies are small. We wanted to be able to spend time on our balcony so we moved to the first floor which is a little more tired and wifi was iffy. But the ocean was spectacular. Apparently they'll be upgrading the first and second floors in the next year or so, and then those rooms will be perfect. The food was pretty good and if you're into actives, there was a lot going on. Again, the staff were so pleasant and helpful. I heard someone ask if it was possible to get a certain drink and the waiter said "Everything is possible!" It's nice to be around people who seem to get their pleasure from making other people happy.

Room service

I was satisfied with my stay. My room was cleaned and made everyday. Breakfast was great there is an open buffet that will accommodate to everyone. View was amazing.

Beautiful hotel and amazing staff

Pros: The food Is something we still talk about. We will never be able to eat calamari in Oregon again! The beach was RIGHT THERE!
Cons: The Kids' Club was pathetic, apparently, "under construction". However, traveling alone with my 7 year old, it was a main reason for booking here.
Location: Need to take a taxi or bus to leave the resort.
My 7 year old daughter and I stayed here for 12 days in February 2017. If we had never left this resort, we still would have had an awesome, relaxing stay. I'd love to give a shout out to Miguel and Ernesto for making our stay even more enjoyable. They went above and beyond in so many kind and caring ways. They were sincere and informative and made us feel very safe. Thank you to ALL the staff........just amazing.

Nice hotel

This hotel had great staff very friendly. It was close to the beach ( beach is private) not to far from any of the fun night clubs or day activities.

Needs Some Remodeling

Pros: Ocean views and quality of food was very good. It is also very quiet and relaxing.
Cons: Hotel is older and shows its age. The rooms on the 8th floor have been remodeled and are much nicer but they wanted $70 more per night for these rooms
Location: Location is good if you want less noise and activities going on all day. However, there is quite a bit of noise coming from the road right out front
This hotel is right on the beach and has wonderful views from every room. The food was also very good. However, the hotel is older and shows its age and could use a complete makeover.

Rooms are dated, but very clean. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Food was just average. Enjoyed my stay there very much!! Look forward to another stay.
