weekend weddings.

Posted Feb 21, 2017
Pros: Clean with friendly staff.
Cons: no weekend weddings, or cut the music at 10pm
Location: good location. good taxi availability and bus into town.
Weekend weddings took over the common area around the pool and the music went on until after midnight.

Excellent budget property. Outstanding staff

Posted Feb 5, 2017
Pros: The beds, the staff and the food
Cons: update room furniture, add sand to beach
Location: In south end of Bandares bay--30 min from airport--no way to do any walking, cabs available and easy bus access--10 minutes from town
Excellent budget property. Rooms large but dated, beds comfortable , extremely clean. Staff outstanding. No real beach until about 2pm because of tides and shade from building. Need beach shoes as area is extremely rocky. Food good--burger specials great option. Everything reasonably priced. Pool area crowded not quite enough lounge chairs. Spa services very good and extremely affordable. Jose does a great job as activities director, wait staff friendly and service oriented, front desk staff extremely helpful--ditto Katlin as concierge. Small no frills budget property but well amintained and well run.

Disappointed

Posted Feb 2, 2017
Expecting some calm water to snorkel and launch a kayak, but it wasn't possible. They close access to the beach area with high tides and/or waves. Our suite (in adjacent bldg) was tired & worn. Fans didn't work, sliding door to balcony was very difficult to open and close and the balcony had cheap plastic chairs and a very low ceiling which made it claustrophobic. Mechanical noise all night long that was not coming from the AC. Lots of traffic noise from the road in early am. The pool/dining area is small so you can't get away from amplified activities (loud bingo game was going on when we arrived, so we went for a drive rather than stay in the depressing room). No wifi in our bldg., and it went in and out in the main lobby. We checked out after one night and forfeited our week long paid reservation. Even if we had gotten a better room, it wasn't the place for us. Win some, lose some!

I am so sorry we did not meet your expectations. Unfortunatelly there was a cold front during your stay and it generates high tides too. We are in fact a small and quaint hotel...Bingo game is every afternoon from 3 to 4 pm. Not all properties are for all types of travellers. It is important to do research before booking to make sure the property you choose is a right fit for you.

Pros: Ocean front food...
Cons: More music.....activities.....water problems..

Great hotel

Posted Jan 27, 2017
Pros: The hotel is close to the beach, and all of the rooms have a view of the Bay of Banderas. The rooms are spacious. Having a kitchen is very handy.
Cons: The upper floors have a poor Wi-Fi connection. The lower floors are fine. Also, from the upper floors you can hear the sound of the road.
Location: The bus into town is just across the road, so you can be in P.V. in minutes for a minimal amount of pesos.
We had a great time at Costa Sur, again. This is our third stay and we love it. Its close to town but just far enough away to be peaceful and quiet. The room is spacious, clean and comfortable. The staff is very nice, and always helpful.

love this place

Posted Jan 1, 2017
Pros: practically everything - rooms, cleanliness, balconies, view, restaurant food, service, swimming and snorkeling
Cons: 1. Some keys may fit several room doors - this should be fixed! 2. I would love to see info on the sealife I see while snorkeling in the small bay.
Location: From downtown, it is not within a walking distance, but one can take a bus, it's really easy and cheap. Many people enjoy just hotel activities.
We had been there last year, and we went again. Though the hotel is not so close to downtown, there is a bus stop right at the doors and the fare is really low. We love this hotel because it is as close to the ocean as one can imagine and even closer. The rocks form an enclosed bay which makes it much safer to swim than in the open beaches. The hotel has everything for a good vacation. Hopefully, we'll go there again.

great views and great food

Posted Dec 21, 2016
Pros: relaxed and laid back, unlike some in P.V. they don't have a heavy bass beat going from 10 am till 10pm they had w wedding there that was very nice
Cons: I can't think of a thing love the location and the whole staff is great and I always look forward to coming back!!!...
Location: the location is great! it's away from the city but still a short bus or taxi ride into Puerto Vallarta or go the Boca and take a water taxi to Yelapa!
took my cousin down to Puerto Vallarta , she had never been there. I made reservations a Costa Sur because I have been there before, the staff was very kind to my cousin I think she was friends with all the staff by the time we left she had such a great time she said she would come back next year! there is her playing the Xylophone down by the pool !
