Not So Luxurious

My husband and I have been spoiled by staying at other more upscale resorts, such as Excellence Resorts in MX, so DVNV was something of a letdown. We are used to having more than 4 different restaurants. In general, the food was good, although it was not usually hot, except in the Italian restaurant. (The plates were hot, but not the actual food.) We felt that drinks were watered down, except in the lobby bar. DVNV is 40 minutes from downtown PV.
This is a nice resort, but nothing outstanding, except for the pools, which are great. It is not especially "Mexican", and could really be anywhere. We thought that the layout of the public areas was odd and very cramped, with a driveway running right past the lobby bar. The restrooms were insufficient and not labeled.
The staff was outstanding; everyone with whom we came in contact was kind and helpful. Go for an upgrade to an ocean view room if possible.
