Nice hotel

Nice hotel. Clean. Need microwave in rooms would be nice. Friendly personnel. Nice restaurants.

My second home.

Pros: Amazing staff. Clean rooms. Good location. Turtle consevation program.
Cons: Leave the beach bar open later.
Location: Short cab ride to downtown. If you are into tattoos check out Aztlan Tattoo and Pinkys Tattoo.
I have to start by saying that the Friendly has certainly changed since last year. The lobby is no longer the center of activity; the place to meet people and party the night away. When i first got there this time it took some adjusting, but after a day or so i had it figured out and from that point on it was just as amazing as always. The staff at this hotel are beyond fantastic and will go through a wall to make your stay enjoyable. Each and every one that i met was courteous and professional but there are a few who went above and beyond to make me feel like more of a good old friend than a customer so i would like throw out some kudos- Gladyz, Jorje, Victor, Hugo, Sergio(hoot hoot), Kalusha, Nabor, David and of course my little darling in the lobby Karla. I love the entire staff at the Friendly and will absolutely be staying there again.

Nice for the price

Pros: It's location and the beach and the turtles that they let go each day
Cons: The beds are a little hard and the housekeeping didn't respond
Location: The port is close as is down town

Great value for an inexpensive vacation !

The rooms and bathrooms were in a rather aged condition, many coats of paint. One of two beds was comfortable of me. The room was cleaned each day very well. For me not having FOX news is a tragedy during the week of our U.S. election. We would also have liked more English speaking channels. The best part about the hotel overall is the fact that they have a quiet time hard line I think between 10:30pm and 11:00pm so for others like us it was wonderful to have quiet at night to sleep. Rooms were quiet ( maybe because of all the coat's of paint ). Most hotel personnel were really great, only a couple of duds. The food was okay and not worth writing home about but not bad either with a few surprises mixed in. But considering the all inclusive cost for your vacation it's a really great value. The beach service was really great as was the service around the pool. If you want a vacation in Mexico and don't have a lot of money this is a great place.

Beach and grill staff were great but the hotel

Location: There is the downtown area with shops ( more like a swamp meet) and a few night clubs, snorkeling, diving and deep sea fishing.
We only stayed at this hotel for a friend's wedding. I would have checked into another hotel, if it wasn't for that. Day 1- we actually missed our first day, due to issues with American Airlines. The hotel was very accommodating with my delayed arrival. Room- our room had limited views and the balcony wasn't covered, so everything was soaked, after the rain. There was ants Everywhere in our room (counters, dresser, nightstands,etc). Bed- The bed was firmer than I'd like. Shower- this is a pet peeve of mine. The shower and sink had a slow drain, so i pretty much bath my feet in my shower water. (Gross) The worst part is, I saw roaches in my room on my last night. I felt it was pointless to call in a complaint on the last night. Also, they do not provide hair conditioner, so bring your own. The only real plus was the AC was cold. Hotel is not completely inclusive. There is no bottled water, so you have to buy your own. And do do close, so no food after a certain time. The food selection is limited. There are 4 restaurants but the food is all the same. I saw the chef use his dirty hands as a spoon to scope out the food from a baking dish to move to the service buffet. He then proceeded to get cheese with his bare hands and sprinkle it. After putting it out for the guest, he when straight to preparing the taquitos. We stopped eating from the buffet and only from the grill, where we could watch the prep and most ate outside. This is what happens whe. There is no health dep

Friendly hotel is a beautiful hotel. Their staff is very nice and helpful. We were there 10/11/16 to 10/15/16 on our honeymoon. unfortunately, the hotel is remodeling and therefore we didn't have access to the Jacuzzi and had to deal with the loud construction noise everyday. We didn't have kids with us but that area was also being remodeled. The food was exactly the same everyday (breakfast, lunch, and dinner looked the same every single day). There is only one restaurant (two floor restaurant) to eat breakfast, lunch and dinner buffet from. The do have hamburgers from noon to 7pm everyday. They offer early sign ups for a fancy dinner on selected days, that was nice. The hotel is right on the beach and they have a lot going on at once. I must reiterate that staff was awesome! Check out was at 12pm but our flight didn't leave till 5pm. The staff check us out but we were allowed to hang out with full amenities (all-inclusive) until we left. They stored our luggage until we were ready to leave. Massages are at an additional fee ($75 for 1 hr for two- honeymood deal) were amazing!!!! We signed up for a romantic tour (Rhythm of the Night for $125) and this tour was amazing. You take a approximately 30 minute boat ride to a candlelit island (no electricity), watch a mayan-fire show, eat an amazing dinner with drinks, hang out for 20-30 min and head back. The boat ride was very entertaining both ways from non-stop alcoholic drinks to entertainment and amazing views.

Cons: The spa , steam room , sauna ,Jacuzzi and mens locker room are in dire need of renovation.
Location: Excellent everything is very easy to get to.
The experience was outstanding, a make you feel at home atmosphere.Excellent varieity of food and drink. Rooms were clean and views were amazing. Nightly entertainment and daily recreation activities. Spa needs to be renovated.

A great Vacation

Pros: Very centrally located. The staff were very good and went out of their way to make us comfortable.
Cons: The bathrooms.
Location: The local bus is easily accessible. We we t to Mass at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church. There's a Walmart not too far away.
We were a group of six seniors. We had a great view of the pools and ocean. Even though we had read that there would be thunder storm during our one week stay, it proved otherwise. we did witness a thunder storm on our first night. The weather was great after that. Friendly Hotel, really lives up to its name. There were so many people. Who treated us so well. To name a few, Renne at the Fronk Desk, Enrique, Gustav, Paola, Amelia, Wanda, the bar girls, Karla, Lorie, the waiters, Tonny, Lupe, Antonel, double Double. The only thing we did not like was the bathroom. It was ancient and badly in need of remodeling. The sink was cracked, There was uneven plastering and simply unattractive and crying for update. The meals were great, the drinks were OK, even though watered down!
