Very nice hotel.

Probably the best all inclusive we have visited. The food was very good, especially at the specialty restaurants. The rooms were large and the beds very comfortable. The beach was nice, and there were always chairs available. The water was warm, and the sand soft with no rocks. The pools were large and clean. Overall, the staff was very friendly and usually tried their best.

could expect more for the price

Posted Aug 16, 2015
Pros: just relax'in by the pool, that's what vacationing is about!
Cons: I think the waiters (at azul) can relax more by not cleaning up every single dish or utensil one by one so frequently. want to kick us out so fast?
Location: Vallarta adventures nice!
if a seven star scale, can understand 5 star. definitely not your usual five star, especially for the steep rates charged. I was lucky it was low season. overall very good, they could do better with the pool service (drink, food). one sad scene was you could see a few individuals (waiters) just over-servicing big tippers, well I suppose that's normal. food quality very good for mexico, good job.

Best experience for family summer vacations

Posted Aug 11, 2015
Pros:
Cons:
Location: The Riviera Nayarit is a great place to explore at bike, you can go to Puerto Vallarta downtown (Malecon) too, and walk for to the long Banderas' Bay
The hotel is awesome, everything is excellent: since you arrive, the reception staff provides you a different experience to "normal front desk process", they make you feel relaxed, in a elegant environment and very welcome. The room was big, clean, with nice style furniture, full of amenities and great for a family. The best part is the food (it is really good), it is not a "traditional all-inclusive food", they show you that the best mexican cooking is possible to provide in a great environment, plenty of quality. Particularly the Luca restaurant is the best. My daughters enjoyed the pools, the beach and all the activities in a very safe conditions, (they have security staff all the time) with a family environment without any worry. But the most important part of the experience are the waiters (on the pool and in the Azul and Luca restaurants) and the entertainment staff. They are outstanding, when they speak with you remember your last name and make eye contact with you, so they always goes beyond all your expectation trying to make your vacation a exceptional experience In a few words the perfect idea for a family summer vacation at the Riviera Nayarit

Another great stay at Grand Velas

Posted Aug 3, 2015
The staff are warm and attentive, and the food is very good. For an all-inclusive experience, I think it's about as good as it gets! However, we did pay extra for a Penthouse suite and I would just warn others--it's not worth the money. The standard room we had on the ground floor when we came here nine years ago was actually nicer. While the description gives the impression it is a two-story suite with a jacuzzi, the "suite" is just a regular room. You must exit the room and go up an external set of stairs to another locked door leading to a deck with a jacuzzi--one that was exposed (no patio cover over it) and therefore always filled with leaves and dirt. Also, it looks like the property and structures have not been maintained super well and are starting to show age, as compared to our last visit. I hope that helps others when booking...we still enjoyed ourselves tremendously!

Beautiful hotel on beach

Posted Jul 29, 2015
Pros: The views, beach, atmosphere and staff were great, as was the food. The pools are beautiful. Chuy who organized the pool aerobics was great.
Cons: Nothing.
Location: Take the walking tour of Puerto Vallarta, really interesting and not too long. They take you by bus to scenic views. Skip the tequila tasting.
This is a great location, on the beach, with beautiful infinity pools. The rooms are large with great views. The facilities are well maintained and the staff is great. There are 4 restaurants with options for all tastes. We enjoyed our stay. We got help from the staff and recommendations for local tours. A good hotel for families or couples.
