Great Service, Quality Food, Excellent Staff

Pros: Room, Food, Pool Bar.
Cons: GV should be clear about when to tip and when to not.
Grand Velas offered great service, excellent food and a tremendous experience to my party. Great Stay!!

Few things need to change........

Pros: I liked the property very well taken care of. The staff was very attentive if you needed a cocktail while lounging at the pool.
Cons: The food!!
Location: It was a quick easy cab ride from airport to hotel. You could also walk the beach for miles if you wanted.
We recently got back from our first trip to Puerto Vallarta. We decided to stay at this hotel due to the 5 star rating and reviews from others. My fiancé and I travel often and have stayed at many all inclusive resorts. Overall experience was not the best. The resort itself and staff were very nice. The food was terrible in our eyes. First day we tried the buffet by the beach for lunch and dinner. Buffet food was terrible. Not 5 star by any means. There were flies and birds flying around everywhere which bothers me when it comes to buffet food. The next day tried hamburger at beach bar and it was completely raw....sent it back twice. That evening was the worst....ate at the Italian restaurant the seafood pasta dish was not cooked right. Within 4 hours I had food poisoning. Vomiting for 7 hours straight. When my fiancé told the staff they all of a sudden acted like they couldn't speak english. Long story short we left the resort and went to different resort where the food was better.

Enjoyed our stay

We found the staff to be very friendly and helpful. Most speak English and are very polite. The resort grounds are very well maintained. Many beautiful palms and flowers. The beach was perfect and groomed every morning. The resort is 20 to 30 minutes from the downtown PV boardwalk, it cost us $10 US for the taxi ride there. The food was great, the French restaurant is a must!

excellence abounding

The staff couldn't have done more to make our stay phenomenal. They were courteous friendly and totally accommodating. The concierge service was first class compared to any hotel I have ever stayed in.

Paradise in Mexico

Pros: Service, rooms, view, food
Cons: Please improve wifi. It was spotty at best especially in the pool areas.
We had an amazing 5 day stay at the Grand Velas. Everyone was friendly, nice and accommodating. The rooms, food, service and atmosphere were top notch.

A beautiful resort with exceptional hospitality.

Pros: We thought the service was wonderful and the food was top notch. The staff was warm and empowered to please. They accommodate requests with smiles.
Location: The location is beautiful with lots of resort activities and fun excursions available - mostly oriented around the water.
From our greeting with cool towels, fresh juice, a neck massage and introductions to the concierge staff... to our departure with kind notes from the housekeeping staff to our child, an envelop with our boarding passes printed out and a car waiting to take us to the airport, this resort is all about great service. We loved our stay at Grand Velas and only wish we had more days to stay. Our personal concierge checked on us daily, offered a schedule of activities for the whole family, made reservations and answered questions. The grounds are beautiful and complete with an assortment of terrific restaurants. The pools and beach are staffed with a small army of friendly servers who offer wonderful service. The spa is peaceful and terrific. The kids club was lots of fun... and so were many of our fellow guests. Lots to do, or do nothing and relax, all is accommodated in every way.

Great Service!

Beautiful hotel, amenities and service - great for families. Fine dining in the 3 themed restaurants. The only small complaint is that they list Chilean Sea Bass on the menu in the Italian and French restaurants when it is fact catch of the day.

Room open on the ocean side.

Pros: we were there for a wedding and the wedding and reception came off very good. Also the meals were very good for a large group.
Cons: The rooms and window could be cleaned better also having hot water is important.
The first 2 rooms we were escorted to were so dirty they were not expectable. The 3rd. room was clean but we asked for a king bed, we received 2 double and the patio door was so dirty you couldn't see out of the window. I have pictures. We also did not have hot water for the first day and a half. it was fixed the last day.
