Beautiful, charming,old mexican style architecture

Posted Feb 7, 2016
Pros: Everything. Location, the restaurants, the architecture, the staff, the beaches nearby. Loved it.
Cons: A coffeemaker in the room would be my only suggestion for improvement. Drinking a morning cup of coffee on our room's balcony would have been a dream.
Location: Conchas Chinas has beautiful condos built onto a steep hillside and is a 15-20 minute walk to town. Taxis arrive in seconds if U dont feel like a walk
We absolutely loved our stay at Playa Conchas Chinas. The staff was lovely and helpful and made our stay very easy --even the sweet manager/owner made sure to greet us and ask us about our stay. The hotel is a 15-20 minute walk over cobblestone roads and steep stairs built into the cliffside to the Malecon, and therefore is quiet and incredibly relaxing, and the small beaches near the hotel felt very private and relaxing. The hotel itself is built on to a cliff side, affording each room incredible views. It is made of brick and terracotta and painted tiles, and is extremely charming and feels like something really unique to Mexico. It is not a traditional luxury hotel and if that is what you want go stay in a Hilton or something like that. There are signs of jungle plants growing on the exterior walls, there are no plush bathrobes or huge infinity pools...but this place is beautiful, comfortable, clean, and totally charming. The restaurants above and below are great as well, "El Set" has a Sunday brunch popular with locals. We all absolutely loved this place and would not want to stay anywhere else.

Excelente y relajado hotel

Posted Jan 17, 2016

Posted Aug 17, 2015
Básico. Personal no te ayuda en nada. Ni a estacionar, ni a bajar valijas por extensas escaleras. Ni a tratar de darte 30 minutos mas en la salida. Muy básico. Ubicación buena cerca de centro.

Not at all as it appears

Posted Jun 11, 2015
Pictures really can do amazing things. This hotel looked much more luxurious than it turned out to be. Also, there was no phone in my room when I arrived, and the wifi is only available in the lobby or near the pool area.

Agradable, frente a la playa

Posted May 21, 2015
El personal del hotel y del restaurante muy amable, el único inconveniente es que el aire de mi habitación no funcionaba al 100 %, pero aún así, fue agradable escuchar las olas en la noche

Nice hotel, right on beach.

Posted Apr 22, 2015
Pros: Location, view, price, quietness, staff, cleanliness, pool, restaurant
Cons: Maintenance: tiles missing in tub, paint flaking off of wall, patio doors hard to open or close. Better equipped kitchenette. Wifi in room.
This hotel has a great location, right on a swimable beach and within an easy walk to town. In it's day, it was probably a beautiful building. Unfortunately, it has become somewhat run down and in need of maintenance and refurbishing. But if you don't look too closely, and don't mind a few imperfections, it is a great place to stay for the money. The room was very clean as were all of the public areas. The pool was lovely. The downside at the time of our visit was construction going on at the property next to us. This only affected us when we used the pool or sat in the lobby to use the wifi (which was NOT available in the rooms, as the website claims). We could not hear the construction noise from our room, which was super quiet. The view from our huge balcony was breathtaking. The "kitchenette" was somewhat of a joke. It was great to have a fridge for cold beer etc., but don't plan on cooking meals there. I asked for a coffee maker and did receive a nice one within a day. The staff, especially, Miguel at the front desk were extremely helpful. The restaurant at the beach, which seemed to belong to this hotel, but actually belongs to the complex next door, was convenient, served really good food at reasonable prices and also had a killer view. As this hotel is built on a cliff, there are many floors and many stairs. No elevator. Miguel carried our bags to our room, so that was not a problem, but people with mobility issues or little kids, would find this a challenge.
