Great place to stay in Puerto Vallarta

My son and enjoyed a fabulous week at the NOW resort. The staff was super friendly and helpful and the resort itself was beautiful. It was conveniently located with lots of amenities close to the resort and a short drive (longer walk, but very walkable) to the Romantic Zone.

Exceptional "All Inclusive" Value

Pros: The resort staff were cordial and very helpful. The property is beautifully designed, clean, safe and well maintained.
Location: The Romatico Zone is a short cab ride away and costs 80 Pecos approx $4.00. Tons of clubs/bars and restaurants.
From to moment we arrived I knew this resort was special. We were cordially greeted with a cool lavender scented towel to wipe our brow and a glass of sparkling wine to quince our thirst. The check in was fast and efficient and surprisingly no wristbands are required. The lobby is beautifully designed with an open seating area with an infinity pool over looking the ocean and a coffee shop, jewelry store and convenience store are located nearby. Our deluxe ocean view room included a jetted tub and balcony. The room was serviced twice a day and "turn down" service included a schedule for the next day events and candy mints on the pillow. The main dining room (Carnival) serves buffet style and the varied food selection changes every day. You even have the choice of al fresco seating. Special thanks to Carmen, Lizeth, and Jose A. for their exceptional service. You guys really made this vacation special. The restaurant (Capers)is the formal dining area and features an Italian menu. Note- reservations are suggested and slacks/collared shirt are required, no shorts/flip-flops. There are several bars on property, one was decorated for the NFL Play Off and we enjoyed the game with free "top shelf" drinks and buffet. The pool area is located in a lush tropical garden and the private beach is only a few steps away. The entertainment was non stop, they included everything from a live jazz band, a "Beatles" review, to a spectacular "Cirque du Soleil" style show performed in the pool!

Nice resort along beach, with one exception.

Pros: Nice, clean room with great room. Except front desk staff at check out and a young man working at the grill by the pools, the staff was wonderful.
Cons: Re-examine the need for the check out card, and re-evaluate front desk staff interactions with guests at check out.
It's probably everything one would expect from a mid-high priced resort. It's unfortunate that the parting experience was so unpleasant. Apparently guests are given a card at check-out to be given to the person facilitating taxis at the drive-through. We requested a taxi and waited a few minutes. He helped us (a family of four, including a one-year old) load into the taxi and then as I was about to enter the taxi (to leave for the airport), he asked for the check-out card. When I said I wasn't given one, he said I would have to get it from the front desk. I assumed it was a legal document to be used either with the taxi driver or at the airport. So I returned to the front desk, waited 10 minutes for the person in front of me to check out and then told the front desk man (the same man who checked me out) he didn't give me a check-out card. He then gruffly INSISTED that he gave it to me and proceeded to argue. At the time, I didn't realize that it was simply a document for internal-hotel use and not anything official required by the taxi driver or by the airport. Why a hotel would require a hand-written card simply indicating the number in my party at the time of departure when I had just checked-out a few minutes beforehand I'll never figure out, but regardless, why in the world is front desk staff arguing with guests about it? Even if I had received it and lost it, why argue? Why not just fill out the card again??

Gorgeous Hotel with great Amenities!

Outside of the lengthy (and sales-pitchy) check in, everything at this resort is pretty amazing!! If you can, you must go to the spa. It's one of the best spas I have ever been to

Pros: all inclusive 5 star on the beach
Cons: Keep merchants away, off to the sides of the beach property
Location: within walking distance to boardwalk and shops

Amazing hotel on the beach.

This trip was for my husbands 75th Birthday! NOW AMBER provided us with the most outstanding experience from the hotel room, to the service, to the ammenitys, to the entertainment, the restaurants everything was amazing.

I want to say BIG THANK YOU!!! Thank you for the staff at now amber, everyone of them was supper kind and nice, room service was wonderful and fast! Food is grate and large selection, close to the beach, the pools are clean, the pool staff is amazing! Everybody at now amber were smiling and sweet the all time! We were 5 days and each day was a dream! The shows, the restaurant, everything was amazing, so thank you now amber and thank you expidia for easy booking! You made our vacation beyond what we expected!! Definitely will come back!!

Pros: It's close to downtown and easy to reach by the bus.
Cons: The rooms had an odor. It was like a musty odor that was very prevalent.
The Preferred Rooms at Now Amber are not the same as the Preferred Rooms at Now Jade. The rooms at Now Jade are better but do cost more. Now Amber was fine but I ended up paying more to upgrade to Secrets. Both Now Amber and Secrets shared the same restaurants. The restaurants were fine. Try to avoid the Japanese restaurant as the food is too salty to eat. There are better options on site. The staff was very accommodating. I was their to celebrate my mother's birthday and the staff helped me to purchase flowers that were delivered to her room. All was fine until we tried to checked out and my mom had a room charge of for photos she supposedly took. We had to wait for a staff person from the photo area to come to the reception with the receipt of the person that actually took the pictures to verify that it wasn't my mother. The whole ordeal was embarrassing as we were made to feel that my mother had actually took the photos and was trying to leave without paying.
