Its got "Character"

This is in old town Puerto Vallarta (think Freemont Las Vegas) so we knew what we were getting. The style is 1950's. Plumbing is old, with little pressure. Electrical is OLD. Every level seems to be an "add on" and are all different. We knew this going in, as we like the real culture instead of the massive hotel you-could-be-anywhere type of thing.
That being said, the price was way too high for what we got.
Expedia is also getting a letter.
For what we paid we could have had the massive hotel thing.
The view was great only in some rooms. If you didn't have one of those rooms then you got really screwed and were paying way too much.
Very nice pool area, but really, really poor service there. Waited a half hour for drink orders then another half hour to get drinks. Like, this is money-in-bank for these guys and they totally struck out.
Maid service was great. Front check-in very slow.
Great access to boardwalk and other restaurants and shops. Taxi's are no more than 200 peso's anywhere.
When you stay here you ARE in Mexico, culture, food, people, attitude.
ALSO, family hotel, expect kids.
