It was whispered through Facebook that this was because I booked through Expedia. If you get room 1101, refuse it. 1102 ie probably just as bad. It’s basically in a service hallway. There is a utility closet next to it and you can feel the staff doing stuff in there 24 hours a day through your headboard. There is an actual service hallway with a door that grinds then screeches every time it’s used. You can hear in the rooms plain as day. There is a giant ventilation unit in that hallway is extremely loud. This is also 24 hours a day. There are stairs right there also. The staff rolls carts down the stairs 24 hours a day. Yes, they roll hard wheel carts down the stairs at night. This is also an employee entrance. They congregate there at all hours talking. The food is ok. The steak place is good but hard to get into. The Asian restaurant is totally. The Italian place was just ok. I didn’t try the Mexican restaurant. The same stuff was on the main buffet, which is ok also. No variety. Breakfast was good, but no variety. The entertainment staff are great! They do a great job evolving people all day the shows at night were really fun. The beach is really nice. From the moment we arrived we were treated with such kindness from staff; they are genuinely happy to have you as a guest. This is my third, or fourth visit to this hotel, but the first time visiting since it's big makeover. The new decor and vibe of the hotel is very fresh and natural and I was quite pleasantly surprised as I had no idea they underwent a renovation! Our room was beautiful and clean and was close to all amenities. We enjoyed the pool bar most days as well as the beach to watch the spectacular sunsets. There were always plenty of chairs to choose from and we always had the choice to stay in the shade if we wanted. We loved the food so much. The buffet has everything you could possibly dream of and I do have to say that the coffee, especially the Americano con leche is delicious! On one of the evenings we went to the Italian restaurant, which was such a treat. We had no problem getting in for a later reservation - we just sipped drinks and enjoyed the show while we waited, it was so fun! The food was incredible at Duomo and the staff were very polite and sweet. Next year I plan to come back with my granbabies as they have a kids pool area with fountains and fun climbers, which I know they will love. Seemed about 15-20% of patrons were families. Large property with lots of walking. Overall the nearby RIU Vallarta at the same price is a nicer resort. Room was small but nicely renovated with lots 8f water pressure fir the shower. Very clean and stylish property, newly renovated. Staff was friendly, however a few of our requests were not met at first ask but they came through in the end.
