First ever trip to PV, or Mexico for that matter so I do not have anything to compare this resort to, however I did speak to some other guests who have travelled to Mexico many times and they really like Secrets and have stayed there several times.
I must say that the resort was excellent. The staff were all super friendly which helped create a fun, relaxing atmosphere. There are a lot of options for the restaurants. Seafood, Pan Asian, French, Italian, Mexican and a buffet that we used mostly for breakfast and lunch for convenience.
The resort has to halves. Secrets on one side for adults, and Now on the other which is more family oriented. You are free to come and go as you please between the 2 sides although I'm not sure the same applies to children as I don't remember seeing any kids on the Secrets side. I thought the setup was perfect. Each side has several pools and throughout the day there are many organized activities to take part in if you wish.
The beach was nice with paddle boards and kayaks available but it was not suitable for surfing or boogie boarding.
The only negative was an odor in our room that we think was something to do with the air conditioning. We turned it off and it seemed to dissipate somewhat and we were quite comfortable without it. Some other people we met said they had the same issue. We told the staff, but who knows if it will be dealt with tho judging by the efforts they make to keep the whole place well maintained and clean, I'm hopeful.
