Clean and comfortable room with a big balcony and a very nice view of the pond with pink flamingos and other birds. Comfortable bed. Change towels every day. Thorough and good cleaning of the rooms and the hotel. Provide potable water. Good shower. Very quiet AC. Pleasant, though a bit forgetful staff.
No handrails in the swimming pool, nor for the steps and a steep 45 degrees entrance to the building. No chair and table on the balcony. The room (#4), under the breakfast room and above the swimming pool was noisy when either one was in use. Was woken at 6.30 am, by the moving chairs and other noises from above.
Insistent and persistent marketing bombardment with the travel/excursion options. The hotel belongs to the Travel Agency which does not care about the hotel customer service one bit. They just want their hotel guests to pay a lot for the hotel, and then more and more, while cutting expenses on all they can. Their hotel clerks are also drivers of their travel agency and are not at the front desk often and never after 6-8.30 pm. What they call "restaurant" is a room open only for breakfast, it does not have a proper restaurant kitchen. Their poor breakfast is also a result of economising at the hotel guests expense.
Very poor and low quality breakfast. even in the cheap hostels in Ecuador they serve a much, much better breakfast. Leave alone more expensive hotels. But for a $95/night, well this is a totally unacceptable rip of and greed, no GREED.
