Needs major renovation

Posted Oct 5, 2017
Pros: Views of Moorea
Cons: EVERYTHING!!! Cleanliness, guest relations, amenities, food..
Location: There's a nearby grocery store, 5 mins walk, where you could buy much better food than what the hotel offers.
Le Meridien is probably one of the famous hotels in Tahiti. But it's already old, it needs some work. You could tell that the resort needs a major upgrade. The room for example, the desk was chipping and stained, the bathroom corners was rusty, it's so disgusting. I was disappointed with the cleanliness of the room. The desk and clothes chest was dusty, the phone was dusty, I didn't even want to touch it. I wasn't able to use the bathtub cause there were remnants to hair when I checked in. The room was not even what I originally booked. I booked an Ocean View room, but I was given a garden view room. The front desk told me you'll see the ocean but there was a huge tree blocking the way. I told the front desk I'll let it slide if they put me on a late check-out. They said okay, but the following day they told me I could only stay 1 hour after normal check-out time and I could use the transit room instead. I didn't want to argue cause I'm already exhausted with them. The transit room was awful! Lots of guest use it, but it was not cleaned as often as it should! It was so gross!! The staffs were not attentive at all. It was sad. It might be a nice hotel once, but I don't think that applies anymore. The food was not even that good. I enjoyed the food at the nearby supermarket better than their restaurant's food.

Overrated Hotel

Posted Sep 11, 2017
The only thing going for them is the view. It's an amazing view, whether it's when you first wake up or the sunset. The room is average at best. They don't even provide simple items like the room slippers. The check in and overall staff are quite friendly and helpful. * On a side note: make sure you have all your items secured in the safe. Our money was taken when we left for the pool in the afternoon.

Nice Hotel close to the beach.

Posted Aug 26, 2017
We stayed at Le Meridien for 8 nights in an Ocean View room. The view from our room was beautiful, it looked out over the lagoon pool and on to the beach. Our room had a super king size bed, a nice big bathroom, draws and wardrobes for clothes. We really loved the sand bottom lagoon pool and surrounding beach. Good location of the bar and restaurant. The only thing that could of been better was that there was a lack of staff at the bar and restaurant. They have a happy hour at the bar which we took advantage of one night but due to the lack of staff only got to order one drink in that hour. We could see other people/tables with empty glasses waiting for service so we weren't the only ones who only got served once in that time. We also heard other guests complaining that they had waited almost 2 hours for there meals to be served. We were lucky and only waited an hour. Other than that we really enjoyed our stay at Le Meridien and would book again should we ever return to Tahiti.

3 minute walk to supermarche, restaurant and shops

Posted Aug 24, 2017
Pros: Lagoon pool was a delightful setting, together with the water aerobics instructor who enticed us in. Friendly helpful staff. Artist loft amazing!
Cons: So disappointed to find the water bungalows were closed, with the walkway boarded up. The coral area was also derelict
Location: Great shopping centre 3 mins away with dress shops, restaurant, great supermarche with take out food, and in the evening there was a pizza caravan.
I thought the setting was gorgeous with the sand lagoon pool, the room was light and bright with descent size beds, fabulous bathroom, and great deck. The fridge was useless, but the supermarche was literally a 3 minute walk so we would go each morning for croissants and milk, and back again for lunch of sashimi etc. Wardrobe was extremely small for two ladies with lots of gear! The waterfront restaurant was divine but exceptionally expensive, but after visiting other establishments further on, on our holiday they are all expensive in the resorts. Fab little dress shop at the centre next door called Beez for a resort outfit or two from the lovely Chantelle. The hotel had an artist loft where you could have free lessons and buy some beautiful pieces from local and overseas artists. Wished I had gone there earlier.

How lucky could you be?

Posted Aug 21, 2017
Pros: Room extremely well appointed, lovely comfy bed/s, separate shower, bath, WC. Deck with nice furniture and beautiful views. Great staff and service.
Cons: Could not think of a thing.
Location: Noticed some nearby shops - including supermarket in easy walking distance - but did not take advantage of any of that as we were only in transit.
We were "stranded" in Tahiti for an extra day due to our airplane delay. Air New Zealand put us up at Le Meridien at their cost for that day - how lucky could you be! Had a lovely lunch - pretty good choices, with the best virgin colada in our 3 week stay - followed by a smorgasbord banquet dinner, which was truly amazing, and also included a Tahitian show. Very nice grounds, plenty of comfortable relaxing furniture, lovely swimming pool and beach.

Le Meridien is a nice hotel with awesome service! The staff was wonderful and accomodated us while we waited for our 9:15pm shuttle pick-up for our 11:45pm flight. Would totally come back to this hotel next time we visit tahiti!!!

Very shabby. The hotel needs a complete renovation inside the rooms and out. However the bed was comfortable and the bathtub clean.

Very nice, great view on the beach.

Pros: Nice location, friendly staff.
Cons: Better communication between Expedia and the hotel. How can you accept a booking for a room that was not available?
Location: There is a nearby plaza with a supermarket and a pastry shop with fabulous breads and sandwiches.
We had booked an over-water bungalow for one night. However we were later informed it was not available due to storm damage, prior to the booking! After several phone calls Expedia gave us a replacement room and some compensation for the mis-booking.

Dear Jamie, We appreciate you took the time to write concerning your recent stay. Thank you for your positive details. We also wanted to express our sincere apologies for not being able to propose you a bungalow. We informed Expedia at the end of April for the bungalow closure, proposing alternative solutions for moving in a suite with a F & B credit resort. We regret that the information wasn't properly communicated in time to you. We thank you for your constructive feedback and we reiterate our sincere apologies for these unusual inconveniences. We hope to see you again soon. Sunny regards and Mauruuru roa
