This is a very nice hotel with a friendly staff but unfortunately it has horrible Internet. If you are a tourist staying one night, it is a fine place. We were there for business and it has a lot of policies that are unfriendly to business travelrrs in addition to the Internet, which is often unusable. And instead of a managed WiFi they have five routers and you just have to find one that works We booked a larger room so we could have some private meetings only to find out that no guests are allowed in the room, which was never disclosed at booking. They did offer to let us meet in the common space but it was not as private. The breakfast is really nice and the rooms are spacious and modern.

I was surprised how nice this place is , been a budget hotel. It is less than two minutes walk to main square. Front desk crew is so charming and helpful. Place offers a great breakfast buffet .

Great location, beautifully decorated and even has an elevator. The room was very spacious for a triple room. The front desk staff was accommodating and very helpful.

I felt that the room was too dark aside from that I must say that they provide excellrnt service. I had altitude sickness and they call a doctor who came to my room. Their prices were very reasonable when it comes to the refreshments in the in room refrigerator.

Casino Plaza...not a shopping centre, but a nice H
A great location, just off the Plaza de Armas. A beautifully presented Hotel. Clean, comfortable and friendly staff. Spacious common areas, with a variety of seating. A reasonably priced restaurant, with nicely prepared food. The room was clean, comfortable bedding...with a functional private bathroom. We can recommend this Hotel, which is close to all amenities.

The location was good. The breakfast was adequate. We were also able to get our laundry done for a fair price. The room was nice. The only issues were that the room refrigerator did not work. The room internet was not working for all three days we were there. We had to go to the lobby for internet.

Good hotel in ideal location
My friend and I have been traveling in Peru and have lucked out in all the hotels we've stayed in thus far. We booked through Expedia and when we got off the bus, they said they didn't have a room for us...but when I arrived with our confirmation in hand, they got things going. The staff were friendly, informative and helpful. The beds were comfortable, though a bit dark in terms of lighting. This hotel was in a great location right near everything in Puno and we were happy we stayed there...and would definitely come again!

Nice, clean, centrally located hotel in Puno with a very helpful staff. Betsy at the front desk was extremely professional and helpful. Rooms are in good condition and comfortable. Highly recommended for the discerning value travelers.

Central location, very nice staff,excellent service. Large and comfortable room. Nice breakfast buffet. Only negative comment is the lukewarm shower. Overall a great value. Would recommend.

Underwhelming hotel with good location
Casona Plaza was an ok choice for Puno where choices are limited. It was quite dated but overall fairly clean and comfortable and our room (king suite) was spacious. There was a heater which was much appreciated as it was quite cool in September. The breakfast was average. The location was good for exploring Puno, close to restaurants, markets and the plaza with the cathedral. Puno overall felt safe to walk around. We were able to walk to the train station but would not advise it if you have luggage as the streets and sidewalks are uneven. Taxis were available and reasonable. Luckily we got a discounted rate for our room which made it a fairly good value. At full price I would have considered it way overpriced. There were a couple of negatives. There was no bottled water provided except through purchase at the minibar. In every hotel we stayed in for a month in Peru water was provided because the water in Peru is not drinkable. This is obviously standard practice in Peru hotels. Also the staff at the hotel, especially the front desk, seemed unfriendly, bordering on rude. Not sure what was going on but we would probably try a different hotel if we stayed in Puno again.

Attractive hotel near city center
Stayed there only one night, found it similar to a nice hotel we stayed at in Lima and better than any of the other hotels we stayed at in Peru. Unfortunately they didn't have a room for us for additional nights, but we were able to use the computer in the lobby to find another hotel, and the Casona stored our luggage overnight until we were able to transfer it, so very helpful staff!

Reception helps to answer a lot of questions. Only 1 minute distance to the plaza de armas. But the water supply is not stable (sometimes hot, sometimes cold)

Casona Plaza - good enough.
The hotel is good, the room was fine and the buffet breakfast was acceptable. The people in the hotel are helpful and nice. Now... The room I got was super noisy, you could her everything. I was on the second floor and I could hear conversations the receptionist was having. Not ideal when all you want a hotel for is to rest after hiking/walking/exploring. I decided to have a "hot" shower late at night and there was barely any hot water. Buy your own soap - the one they give you is laughable. Don't buy the water from the minibar, it's 75% cheaper in a small store 2 blocks left once you geet out of the main hotel entrance.

THe hotel itself is not bad, but somehow i had to pay for it again, eventhough it was prepaid to hotels.com... They cited some problem, that they have abandoned visa payments and only mastercard or cash now...

1 block from Plaza, can find a lot of restaurant and seeings. Street is noisy and narrow. Hotel can arrange boat tour and bus/taxi to airport. Be careful! Collectivo is moving around to fill the bus, when you use it. Extra time is desiable.

Don't stay there Friday or Saturday night!
The Casona plaza is at a great location near the plaza de armas and the main strip of restaurants and shops in the center of Puno. The hotel is nice and well maintained. The room we had was huge with a seating area, table and a king sized bed. The bathroom was large, too, and we had plenty of warm water. Breakfast was elaborate with different kinds of breads, jams, meat, cheeses, fruits and fruit juices and you could get your eggs as you liked. Overall, it would have made for an excellent stay if it wouldn't have been for the loud street noise and party/music until 3am in the morning. The windows are very thin and poorly insulated. We essentially didn't get any sleep on Friday and Saturday night, which was extremely disappointing. Sunday night was as if somebody turned a switch. Super quiet and we finally got a good night's sleep. Stay there during the week on workdays, but unless you are out there partying, don't even bother to stay there over the weekend unless you don't care about getting any sleep.

The hotel is in a great location, however, with it comes the noise. There were noises all night long, from people playing music to drivers honking. The service was great, and so it was the breakfast.

Staff was very helpful in accommodating whatever needs and the hotel is nice and clean with plenty of hot water. They even added simple details that are greatly needed and appreciated such as complimentary 5 minute of oxygen per guest, a bottle of water, lots of coca tea available and slippers. It was located just a block away from Plaza de Armas so it was a short distance to hotels and shops. I liked that it was not on Plaza de Armas because it made the hotel a quiet and restful place to be. Hotel can even arrange daily tours at reasonable prices as well as they offer complimentary pick up to certain locations. The only thing I was not comfortable with is that they are so efficient, that they were waiting for us for anything we booked way ahead of time, so I felt rushed. For other guests, this might be definitely a plus. You can count of them to be on top of whatever you request.

Nice hotel, very nice staff. Breakfast didn't start until 6AM, but when they learned we had to leave at 5:30AM they offered to bring out breakfast at 5:10AM. Very nice service!

Mitten in der Nacht angekommen. Unkomplizierter Empfang. Altehrwürdige Zimmer. Frühstück in der Sonne im Arkadengang im 1. Stock mit Blick auf die Plaza und Kathedrale. Heizung im Zimmer (im Winter) war nicht vorhanden und nicht nötig. Einfach, preiswert und emphehlenswert.

Quarto excelente, cama confortável, aquecedor no quarto, banheiro grande e com ótimo chuveiro. Ficamos em um quarto com janela para dentro do hotel, desta forma, o quarto era bastante silencioso. Porém, há quartos com janelas para a rua que devem ser bastante barulhentos devido às buzinas incessantes dos motoristas peruanos.

El hotel está al lado de la plaza de armas y en una calle muy comercial con muchos restaurantes. Se ve un poco viejo pero está bien. Lo malo, al tener la situación que tiene, es bastante ruidoso y entra claridad ya que las cortinas no son muy opacas

Hotel muy bien ubicado, a una cuadra de la plaza de armas. Poca aislacion de las habitaciones no permiten buen descanso ( bocinas de vehículos, otros pasajeros, etc.) Primer día no hubo agua caliente, lo cual fue una complicación después de un viaje de 9 hrs en moto. Toutes les chambres donnent sur un corridor central où on aperçois le hall d'entrée en bas. C'est très écho et bruyant bouchons de mise. Par contre l'hôtel est situé au cœur de la place d'armes et c'est très commode.
