GREAT GETAWAY

Pros: The service, knowledge of the staff, cleanliness, and food.
Cons: No complaints or negative feedback.
Location: The location resort was right on the beach and we had ocean side view! We enjoyed dune buggies through Punta Cana and swimming with the dolphins.
We had an excellent time. The trip was intended to get away, relax, and unplug from email and social media to enjoy ourselves, which we did just that! The staff was great and the hotel wonderful. We will be back!

Barcelo bavaro beach

Food was very good, grounds were imacculate. The stay was freindly, atentive and helpful. The area we stay was the old area and rooms need to be completely updated as well as tge a/c system. Other then that would go back in a heart beat

Beautiful hotel

Great hotel with many amenities for kids and adults. Super friendly staff. Recreational activities in the beach and in the pool area. Reataurants are delicious expect for the spain reataurant. The menu seems delicious, but the chef wasn't an expert. We need to call the housekeeper twice because of hair in the bathroom when we arrived. Not a lot of bachata music. Included drinks are cheap, however they kept some quality drinks under the bar. You need to ask for them. The adults only side is too quite, perfect for relaxation. Great hotel for a great price.

Everything in this hotel is excellent ,except for staff..they are not too friendly ..they are nice but don't smile enough don't extend themselves to help ! the servers seem disconnected they just get the job done .. don't smile enough But still would recommend to people just ignore the staff curtesy manners .. the pool and Beach near rooms and fabulous

Love the beach

Buffet staff need to Be more courteous to the people, I found some of the staff too rude. The food was okay. My husband and I had a great weekend, we enjoy the beach, the pool and the night club.

We had a great time! The resort is beautiful!

Pros: The food and the staff. Everyone was so friendly and attentive so that was a nice touch. The exterior and design of the resort is so beautiful.
Cons: The bed linens need a lot of improvement. If you have stained linens and towels they should be discarded not put on someone's bed.
Location: Location was great, it was a short ride to everything.
The resort was beautiful, the staff was super nice. Our only complaint were the linens. All of them were stained and didn't look clean, sometimes our sheets looked used and that was very disappointing. They also knew we were a group of four and they kept leaving only two sets of towels so everyday we had to request two more and it was always a 30 min wait with multiple calls to the front desk. Overall we were very happy, the food, the staff, the atmosphere was excellent.

Fantastic food & service with a view!

Pros: Loved that we could literally walk out our back door to the beach and the food was pretty great.
Cons: The service at La Fuente, the Spanish restaurant, was SO slow and food was just okay. There were some tiny stains on one of the duvet covers.
Location: Location is perfect! Right on the beach and not too far from the airport and several downtown clubs including Coco Bongo.
If you have the chances to upgrade to the premium level, DO IT. I think we only paid like thirty dollars extra for this and it was SO SO worth it. 3 words: FREE ROOM SERVICE. We were greeted with champagne in a comfortable lounge and helped to book free massages and our dinners for during our stay. The best restaurant in the resort is the Kyoto teppanyaki restaurant which apparently is really difficult to book if you're not premium level. We also had an issue with an excursion we booked outside of the resort and the staff was amazingly helpful in getting it re-organized. Can't say enough about the customer service! Those girls in the premium lounge need a raise stat. Also, our cleaning lady Rosalia was so sweet! She made us little towel swans with some rose petals and gave me a red carnation calling me a queen in Spanish. Super adorable! Little touches like this make me never want to consider ever going to another resort in Punta Cana because this one was just so perfect for our romantic getaway! Typically, I am one to always travel to new places but this is the first time I visited a resort where I would totally come back multiple times and bring my family.

Nice hotel but didn't meet all of my expectations

Beautiful pool and clean overall resort - we got a premium oceanfront room. FYI - the $1,000 credit doesn't really get you anything other than 10% or 25% off certain services. Beach was okay as there are a couple excursion platforms when you look out at the ocean and there are speedboats going by on a regular basis. Plenty of beach lounge chairs. I found it was hit or miss with friendliness and helpfulness of staff, for example most bartenders seemed to take their time and didn't seem very social but usually would say thanks if I gave them a tip which I didn't feel like I needed to do every time. I understand as I am not always happy at my job... but I don't work in the hospitality business. Nightly shows were okay... but not all that great. The breakfast and lunch was good at most places... but the dinners where reservations were required were not all that impressive. The seafood restaurant atmosphere and food were not very good along with chez gourmet... the food at the Japanese steakhouse was great but I thought the "show" would have been more impressive. Lastly, we felt the information about different aspects when we arrived could have been more clear. We overall had a good vacation (lounging on the beach and excursions) but would tell our friends to definitely look at other hotel options.
