Just dont get sick!

Everything was wonderful until I started not to feel well I tried to make the most of the trip as the hotel and beaches are beautiful I thought it was the usual stomach issues that some people may have with traveling, we had booked golf but I was too sick to play but they still made me pay full price to ride in the cart with my husband. We paid as I did not want to sit in my room alone. We asked for a later check out so that I could have access to a bed and washroom and they were not able to accommodate as we were to check out at 12 and our flight was not leaving till 10 p.m. at night. When I returned home symptoms never went away and I had to see a doctor that let me know I had salmonella poisoning I ended up being very sick for close to 8 days.. Needless to say my husband did not get sick and had a much better time

We would like to mention that we are taking all necessary precaution measures to prevent sickness and that we are working together with “Cristal” international hygiene controlling to guaranty high food & beverage quality and to ensure international hygiene standards. The “Cristal” food safety risk management program was specifically developed for the travel and tourism industry. It covers high-level standards, which comply with international and national regulations. Also, it incorporates best practice and recommendations, which often requires an even higher level than many national and international regulations. These standards and their compliance are then monitored and audited at the hotel site, through competent Cristal auditors on a regular basis. We certainly highly appreciate the provided information and will reinforce any possible action to verify our procedures and standards. In regard to the late check out we are sorry that you couldn’t get it, please be informed that late check out depend on the availability of the Hotel. Wonderful time!

Stayed one week here and had a great time. Staff was very friendly and work very hard to keep the resort in top shape. Food and drinks were plentiful and good. Only disappointment was the Wi-Fi. When paying this much for a vacation I feel the Wi-Fi should be included and when you pay the $45 weekly fee that covers only ONE device. Will definitely go back but might work out some kind of data plan for the next trip. The beaches and pools were excellent but I would have liked to have had hot tubs at the Adults Only section. Maybe heat the pool water during winter months. It was a little on the cool side.

Gorgeous grounds and great common spaces.

Pros: Fabulous grounds, multiple restaurants, great public spaces around lobbies and bars. All inclusive takes your mind off spending, easier to enjoy!
Cons: I would be happier if the pools were a few degrees warmer.
Location: Right on the beach, with all the watersports options you want.
Excellent meals at the many menu-driven restaurants. Buffets were OK with huge international variety, but we prefer selecting our own meals and are happy to enjoy a glass of wine while we wait. We learned late in our stay that while some of the menu-based restaurants only serve beer and wine - no cocktails - others had full bar service. Excellent spa and very reasonable rates, especially given the high quality facilities and staff. It was windy the week we were there [Feb 4 to Feb 10], so beach was too blustery early in the day and later in the afternoon. Pools are beautiful so more than a suitable alternative. I don't know if the wind was an unusual condition or if it is something that always occurs at that time of year. Not the hotel's fault, but part of our experience! Readers should know that people stayting at the Bavaro Beach Adults Only hotel also have access to everything at the adjacent Bavara Place hotel.

Nice hotel, but little old rooms

Ok i just came from Barcelo bavaro palace. Good pools, Big rooms, but drinks need to be better but overall food is Ok, best rib-eye steak at the GOURMET restaurant a must go, and the Japanese restaurant KYOTO

Over all great, would learn a bit of Spanish

Hotel was beautiful, food and service was great. Staff was very friendly, front desk staff were fine with communication in English but most of the other staff spoke very little English. That was not an issue at all, but next time I would brush up on my Spanish Beaches were very nice and clean, lots of chairs and never had an issue finding a spot. It was nice to stay at the adults only side and have access to the palace side. The palace side was very nice and HUGE, but also very busy. Was nice to have the option to have a quite lunch or not as crowded pool side. The golfing was also fantastic, even though the golf "fees" are included with your stay you have to pay for the cart That is $75 US per person, if you play after 3pm it's $45 they do not advertise that. Golf course was in amazing shape and very beautiful defiantly worth it :)

Nice hotel,very good restaurants Excelent facilities pool restaurants Shops and the best is no sellers at hotel and beach I was at adults only and the condition of shower and bathroom is very poor Room was poor condition too

Nicer staff would have helped

Staff was often rude and appeared to be annoyed to help. Guest Services was confusing. Difficult to get reservations at restaurants. $100 expedia voucher was never honored even after three to four attempts to claim Resort was clean and well maintained. The food and drinks were good.

Great experience.

Pros: Everything.
Cons: Bathrooms in the rooms; We where in section adults.
Location: Great location, clean beach, perfect sand.
Very satisfy, clean, food very good, many choices. Would not recommend to choose those restaurant which we had to pay for. Staff gave us very services, quick to respond. Only comment would be that the bathrooms would need to be remodel and a bathtub is not necessary, open shower would be more like it.

Great vacation!

We really enjoyed our stay! We had a blast doing aerobics on the beach, bowled at the Palace complex, tried a couple of the restaurants, but preferred the buffet! We took 2 Expedia excursions, the dolphin swim and Eco Tour of the countryside. We were treated really well by everyone. The premium level room and lounge in the facility were worth it! Mucho gracias!!
