Hotel ideal con gente super simpatica

Hotel en buenas condiciones, el personal super atento y amable, nunca falta diversión y entretenimiento por parte del personal de animación. Sin duda si volvemos a Punta Cana, repetiremos.

Bonito y agradable hotel

El personal es muy atento y agradable con excepcion de los que atienden en los bares. La comida podria mejorar un poco en algunos restaurantes. Muy buenas actividades en la piscina y en la playa. Regresaria en otra oportunidad.

Just got back from my 3night stay at Barcelo. The hotel grounds are just beautiful and well maintained. The rooms need a little work but hey!! Who is spending their vacation sitting inside the hotel room. The outdoor make up for it. The check in was fast and I was surprise because I was expecting to do be a long time. I did make it to the hotel at 2:45pm and I check in with no troubles. I did noticed that if you arrive later they have several lines of people. I guess is no surprise. The hotel is huge!!! I cant wait to go back.

First time to DR

Pros: The restaurants on site were nice. The pool areas were nice. The landscaping maintenance was top notch.
Cons: Customer service in the on site stores was horrible. All of the other items mentioned in my main narrative.
Location: Beautiful beaches. Did not venture outside the resort.
The Barcelo Punta Cana was our first stay in the DR. As is usually the case, the photos online are much more appealing than the reality you face when you get there. The resort was much older and "run down" than I had envisioned. The sliding glass doors on the balcony had no handles for either side, so opening and closing the doors was very difficult. The mini fridge actually had packing tape holding part of it together. My wife actually got shocked a little when she reached behind the night stand to plug something in because the wiring to the lamp was being held together by electrical tape which had partially come apart. The resort replaced the lamp the next day. The stores on the resort were staffed with extremely rude women who followed us around as if we were going to shoplift something. They acted miffed when my wife would check the sizes of shirts, refold the shirts then put them back in the pile. The worker would then immediately grab the shirt and refold it. The rest of the staff was decent although I would advise visitors to brush up on their Spanish. It is the native language and it's appreciated by them if you use it when you can which I totally respect. I know others who have stayed at other resorts in the area and had far better experiences with their stay. All in all it was okay and a positive experience in visiting a foreign country, but the Barcelo Punta Cana will not be another stopping point in the future.

I love most of my stay in Barcelo but there are a few things that I didn't like. Wi-Fi is not free, the people attending at the buffet take too long to do refills and I'll prefer one more buffet instead of reservation restaurants.

Cons: The hotel management should listen any complaints from customers
If anyone wants to be a second hand smoke, the Punta Cana Barceló is a place to welcome. There are a lot of things that the hotel management needs to pay close attention to such as buffet foods, room equipment, staffs, etc. Also, the hotel staffs need to be trained to be friendly with customers wherever they need helps. I am very disappointed with Punta Cana Barceló at this time and feel so bad with my group (30 companions) because I previously introduced them that Punta Cana Barceló was a great hotel compared to the others
