Never Again

Pros: Nothing.
Cons: Destroy the whole place, and start over.
I would never recommend this "resort" to anyone. The rooms are filthy, the food is terrible, the amenities are non-existent, and getting anything done takes entirely too long. That's just the tip of the iceberg. I intend to write a full letter to Expedia outlining just how awful our experience was.

Has potential but disappointing stay

Hotel has potential to be a great stay but little attention is given to detail. We stayed in oceanfront VIP suites building 2. The view was nice the beach relaxing and the entertainment staff was just that but the cons overwhelmed the pros. The food was not good, having been to several all inclusive. We don't expect 5star but we want something edible (other than French fries) we even paid extra for the add on (alleged) higher quality meals. Which we still had to pay for even after sending it back with only one bite taken (refund request was denied). One meal a half dead fly crawled out of the middle of a plated non buffet salad - the waiters just shrug it off as normal. Theft- traveling with another couple who had money and cigarettes stolen from their room. Their luggage clearly rummaged through. Security wanted to rummage through their belongings to "prove" if it was stolen. No thanks Timeshare, spa, excursions the sales pitches were endless and obnoxious- not at all relaxing VIP butler, some bartenders, and pool activity team did try their best to make a fun experience

Russians, Moscow, Putin

It is a 3 star hotel. Territory is big and beautiful. They have a lot of pools. Almost every building has a nearby pool and except for the main pool, they are not overcrowded. You feel like you are i in Moscow at this resort. It is about 90% tourists from Moscow, Russia. Animators all speak and announce in Russian, menus in the restaurants are in Russian. There are couple of Russian propaganda channels on tv. The hotel was Doing a great job removing russian flags, propaganda symbols such as portraits of Vladimir, and others symbols of Russian government such as russian political parties flags from the balconies of the residences. Security one day was doing a great job kicking everybody out of the pool at 7 pm, but the next day russians were partying in the pool till 2 am and nobody told them to leave. Main restaurant is working beyound capacity, they have no available tables, no plates, lines to get in. Waiter service is absolutely terrible. I wanted to tip people, but the service was so bad that I could not tip anybody. If you book through expedia you had access to premium buffet where you could have some rest from russian toutists. Russian tourists with blue bracelets were not allowed into premium buffet and their alcohol drinks vere limited in the bars. With expedia bookings I had any drinks from the bar I wanted with no restrictions. The beach was dirty and completely covered with seaweeds. It was the worst beach I’ve seen in DR. Mother Russia

As soon as you arrive it feels like you are in Russia. It is completely russian tourists occupied hotel. Hotel is completely oriented on Russian tourists. When you walk in you can see multiple russian flags on every balcony, pictures of russian dictator, flags and symbols of major russian political parties. It is kind of causing discomfort. All russian propaganda symbols disappered one day though, I thing the managemen made people to remove it. The food was great especially in the restaurants accessible only to people booking through foreign tour operators. People from Russia were not allowed into some restaurants. Main restaurant was a complete disaster. No tables, lines, no plates, no waiters available, no cups. Food was plenty, no fish though. Pools were clean except of the main. Bars were great except one on the beach. That one was serving people like animals and had nothing available except rum and pina colada. The beach was a disaster. The water was dirty and a lot of sea weeds. The good beach was 1 mile walking distance to the left. One day there was no water in the hotel rooms. Nobody organized delivery of water and no warning was given. Waiters are so lazy and there is no management or supervisor to tell them what to do. They have hundreds of people working and nothing is done. In the USA all tasks would be accomplished with quarter of personnel they have. The coffee is terrible and hard to get. Could be better !!

Pros: The beach is nice, the rooms are nice too.
Cons: Yes the costumer service !
Location: Nothing at all nearby.
The hotel is OK, The rooms are good. The staff does not give the best costumer service experience, Of course not all of them but some of them would act in a lazy way and would me you feel like they are doing you a favor when absolutely everything is being paid ! The food is good but the service at the restaurants is no good ! The take for ever to get you a soda, the wine is Bad! the coffee machine do Not work all the time. When people book a vacation package it is usually to celebrate something not to go and feel unwelcome by lazy staff who is NOT into costumer service and not very welcoming and not active. The Gym staff is fine, the recreation team is fine but the bars, concierge and restaurant people could be definitely better ! Their service is NOT free and it is their job to make the costumer have a great experience instead of having to struggle for a coffee or a soda.

Great food but too many tourists from Russia

In general I liked my stay. I had a good time. This hotel caters to Russian tourists, but to give them credit, they behaved very well. Tourists from France or Spain were very disrespectful instead. I did not see any drunk fights, fighting for food or for the table, that is what russian tourists are famous for. I saw a lot of people putting Russian flags on the balcony or pictures of Putin, but it did not bother me. The thing that bothered me a lot was that russian tourists were allowed by the hotel management to occupy all the seats on the beach with umbrellas from the previous day. Russians would come at 2 am and put their towels on the lounge chairs, and when I was going for a morning run at 5:50 am, not a single chair was available. Hotel had not enough seats on the beach. Most of the people occupying the seats would not even show up on the beach. It is sad that the hotel management allows it. Another disappointing thing was waiter service. The hotel needs more supervisors and less staff. The beach was so-so. The water was vey dirty, but shallow and good for kinds and people not able to swim. The management put a very ugly barrier that suppose to protect the beach from seaweed. It is not on the pictures. It is extremely ugly and spoils the views. The food was the best out of all resorts I’ve been to. Premium buffet for expedia bracelets was great. Russian people were not allowed there. TERRIBLE !!!!

By far worst experience ever . My family and I stayed here in August . And the only up side to this resort was our room layout . The food was terrible my family and I were sick throughout the trip because of it . Our shower would over flow and our sink was broken we reported it our first day .... wasn’t fixed u til the day before we left (we were there for 7 days ). The staff has no hospitality skills . The pools look like a community pool that hasn’t been cleaned all summer and had a stench to it . They advertised free WiFi in our rooms . Def wasn’t the case . Terrible terrible terrible ! Save your money .. trust me

Nice for the Price

Other than the water main pipe breaking resulting in no water on the property for a few hours, my stay was excellent. I had VIP service from the start until finish. My concierge gave me a tour of the property unpon arrival and made sure I checked into my room. He also carried my bags to my room. Like I said the resort overall was nice and I’d give it a 4.5 out of 5.
