Great service and friendly staff!

We always are very impressed with the friendly staff at the Royal Bavaro (incl. Cecelia, Maria, Andy, and Zoolekiea to name a few), We enjoyed the Catamaran boat excursion. The weather was excellent during our 10-day stay..Second time we have stayed at the resort (also went there in 2015). The resort was renovating a couple areas when we were there, however did not cause a problem.

Great trip

Pros: Variety of restaurants and vibes.
Cons: More entertainment. Better shade at poolside.
My husband and I really enjoyed our stay. Everyone was nice, food was great. Very relaxing atmosphere.

2nd Stay... not quite like the first.

Pros: I like the pool suites. Most of the staff (housekeeping, wait staff, etc.) are all very nice and accommodating.
Cons: The furniture in the pool suites is very uncomfortable.
This was our second stay. Our first stay was “5 stars” all the way around so we were very excited to repeat the experience. As before, we reserved one of the suites with the private pool. Upon our arrival, we were told that the previous guests requested a late check out. The desk clerk arranged for us to go to another room until the previous guests checked out. We were told it would be ready by 6:00. At 7:30 when we still heard nothing, we went to the front desk and were told it will be another 30 minutes. It was inconvenient for us and really left a bad taste in our mouths to start the trip. (Doing a guest a favor at the end of their stay resulted in starting the experience for a new guest off on the wrong foot. Perhaps accommodating a guest for very, very late check-out would mean moving them to another, cheaper room for the remaining time instead of giving the new guest the same cheap room...) Once that was ironed out and we finally got the room we paid for, we enjoyed ourselves but the service overall, food etc, really seems as though it declined since last year. Maybe we were overly critical based on the rough start but I don’t think so.

Nice get away, but could’ve been better.

We stayed four nights and for the most part we enjoyed our time. It’s a very low key resort so if you’re going to really party, this place isn’t it. The water fountain pools seem like a waste of space as are the “Exclusive” lounge beds on the beach. No one used them. The food could’ve been better. We chose “Adults Only” for a reason, but had to go to the family resort to find good food- so that was disappointing.

Close to airport and great food

It is not false marketing it was exactly what you see on the pictures. I went there for my anniversary with my boyfriend and we had good service overall and the food was amazing! One thing I did not like was the 24 your room service option overnight . They only had 4 weak options between 11PM-7AM and that was so dissapointing to me after a night out wanted to eat food in the resort. Other than that everything was great. Highly recommend they update the room service menu option 😁

Excellent hotel

This hotel in general is above and beyond, good food, nice atmosphere, very good beach and the staff very friendly just to mention few names Omar from blue sea restaurant, Jordany from cata tapa, Nilsa front the blue sea and Pedro and Martina from the yuca restaurant, this guys really made us feel at home. For sure we are going to be back here.

Hotel rooms smelled like mildewed and wire expose

Bad experience at resort. It wasn’t what I thought it would be. Changed rooms four different times due to water leaking from ceiling and exposed wires. Service was not great at all.

Beautiful Resort Customer Service the Worst

Pros: The property was beautiful, I loved the spa and my massage/facial.
Cons: House phones, unlimited beach towels, mini bar, food, room service and most of all bilingual staff. Minimize the time share reps
Location: The dune buggy excursion was fun but too long for them not to provide lunch.
The staff at the resort was the worst. They catered to certain guest who they assumed was going to tip them. I dined one night alone at Thalassa and waited 45 minutes for my meal. My waiter who told me to not to forget his name well Abil I did remember & you were the worst. Then went there the next morning for breakfast and I asked for a drink 4 times & was totally ignored until I complained.The food was terrible and I traveled with my boyfriend, my brother and his wife and we dinned together everyday & night until the last day & since they were not in the privilege section they told them they could not dine in our section. The time share reps were the worst i had to get rude with them they were everywhere. There were no house phones so I always had to go back to my room or go to my brother's room to communicate any changes in our plans. The 24 hour room service was a joke, we called at 2am Thursday morning & go no answer called the front desk & he kept transferring me without even hearing me out so we walked to the front desk & he took our order. Now the spa was wonderful I left a them a hefty tip, Santa was great at the swim up bar and there were a couple more staff that were accommodating & we tipped them well. The beach was ok but you were only allowed 1 towel per guest & you needed a card. One day they said they didn't have anymore towels REALLY! I will not return to DR & certainly not this resort. I spoke to other guest & they had the same complaints. JAMAICA HERE I C
