Great place to stay

My stay at Dreams Palm beach was great. I came with my family and friends for my wedding. My wedding was perfect. Everything came out just how I envisioned it, maybe even better! My wedding coordinator was Vanessa. She is great. I had a great MC at my wedding (forgot his name). All the staff is amazing, they go above and beyond to make sure you are comfortable and having a good time. Augusto from the swim up bar was very nice. George from the world cafe was very accommodating. Maria from adventure photos was great, very funny. She did our wedding photo shoot, the pictures are amazing. Johnny B Good from the Entertainment center made our stay extremely fun. He is so outgoing. The only downside of my stay was my room. We got upgraded to preferred but our room felt very small compared to the ones the others in my group had. I had a leak twice inside my closet. My clothes and purse got wet. The first time it happened was on my wedding day while I was getting ready. Thanks god my wedding dress was not in there at the time. We also had mosquitos in the room even though they spray. The wifi is extremely slow. The Tv never worked in my room. I recommend this hotel for anyone who is having a destination wedding or looking for a family or romantic vacation.

Not so nice

The hotel had a nice pool and good landscaping, but none of that really matters when the staff is very obvious about not liking their jobs...and you. We all know tourists often times suck, but the flip side of the coin for countries like the Dominican is serious economic stimulus. So, if you are going to be in the tourism industry, specifically hotel and restaurant, you have to train your staff to be friendly to the guests. Dreams clearly has a management issue at its Palm Beach Resort. For the price we paid, we left highly disappointed.

Not what I was expecting :(

Pros: The pools/beach.
Cons: The food, especially at the buffet.
Location: CoCo Bongo was fun but they want to charge you $75 a person haggle you could get in for cheaper.
Let me start off by saying that I read reviews faithfully to get a scope of the property/food etc..So when I was searching for a resort as you can see there are tons to choose from so after reading and switching resorts (literally) we settled with DREAMS, more like a mini nightmare. I hate to write this but the $200 resort money is a scam to get you to a time share presentation and could only be utilize if you sit through their day long pitch. Also when checking in they try to get you upgrade to preferred, don't bother the rooms are the same and you get to eat breakfast a la cart. Now on to the food, what a disappointment and if you found something you liked it was never hot. Oh and do not bother with the sirloin at the buffet I am still chewing days later, the worst. The best thing was the mango. The rib eye at the sea side grill was good but overall there was nothing that we ate that made you say, this is good. The beach and pool was nice and relaxing and if you can grab a burger and fries on the beach that was the highlight of our meal. Also the way the resort is configured you hear every door that slams people talking no late sleep inns at this place. I hate to be so critical but this place was not worth the money, seriously don't do it. Oh how could I forget the drinks were boring..... I want to visit DR again but would not stay here and there is not entertainment. Sorry DREAMS wish I could have had a better DREAM.

Great staff, cheap food & ok rooms

Staff was very nice, welcoming & always at your service but the food was lousy. Very cheap selections on the food, ex steak was fatty & very tough, Asian fusion restaurant was everything but Asian fusion. Their version of top shelf liquor is local rum & Bacardi (not top shelf). Room service was lousy they reused dirty linen on the bed.

Some good things...some need improvement

We frequently vacation at AM resorts because we can depend on the high quality and excellent customer service. Although we usually stay at the "Secrets" resorts, we have also stayed at "Now" resorts and have been very pleased with both. We had confidence when booking this resort that the high quality we've come to expect would be there. We found the grounds and beach were excellent...the rooms are small and getting a little dingy and due for upgrade but very clean. The food was not up to AM standards we had come to expect...the restaurant service was very poor...it was inconsistent and many things forgotten...we were rarely asked if we would like a beverage...some orders had missing food or were not what we ordered...staff was slow and some clearly did not enjoy their work (not all staff)...worst margueritas ever! I would have to say the dining experience ruins the resort experience which is too bad because it has such potential to be awesome.

Hotel right on the beach.

The resort was beautiful and the pools and beach were gorgeous. However, the restaurants were not that great. Also they needed more nightly entertainment around dinner. There is nothing until 9:30.

Honeymoon vacation

Pros: Good food options. Most of the staff were friendly and warm
Cons: Staff attitude especially at checkout. Everyone was nice on the first day, but on our way out, the man that checked us out was rude.
Location: Good beachfront
We arrived here and was welcomed warmly, everywhere looked beautiful. Great food and drinks. All inclusive. We spent 5 days and it was lovely with just a few setbacks

Beautiful Views

Pros: Beautiful, my room was very nice, views were amazing.
Cons: Maid service
Location: I never left the resort. We did a booze cruise which was a lot of fun.
My over all experience was great. Had an issue getting my room cleaned and they never restocked my towels, I was also placed in building two, right on the corner where they had all the entertainment, so i heard everything. Bar service was awesome Ralph at the pool bar was my man. beach was beautiful and it was not crowded.

Not a friendly resort

Location: Take the Boose cruise
Check in was 3pm arrived at 1pm room wasn't ready until 5:30 I was by my self and they gave me a room with 2 beds and I requested a king. Told me it would cost more to move rooms. My friends arrived after me a got a king and need 2 beds and was given a roller bed. The front desk people where very rude when you asked questions but the other staff was very helpful. Also check out was a nightmare the front desk call to ask what time to pick up bags and never showed up when we got to the check out out taxi was gone and they said that they don't work together and didn't know anything about helping us so once again had to go to a worker to get help.

Great place

Pros: The staff always greeting you with a smile... "hola" and " excellente"...
Cons: to see some more of the restaurants allow shorts for men not just the buffet and seaside grill. People not trying to sell us thungs on the beach
Location: Location was key. Close to the airport and lots of excursions nearby if you wanted to go on them.
Got the preferred package which was a great choice and well worth it. Highly recommend it. Food was great! The staff was exceptionally great always happy and always working. We saw the same guy serving us at the bar in the evening and then serving us oj in the morning on the other side of the resort. Very relaxing. I will definitely be back to this one.
