First time visiting Punta Cana

Posted Mar 22, 2017
The Dreams Palm Beach is top notch. From the minute you enter the resort it is a tropical paradise. The staff are very welcoming and extremely polite. We were upgraded to Preferred Status which included many amenities along with private pool, room service, private section on the beach, butler, etc. We went for relaxation and that is exactly what we got. The food is also delicious and no worries about drinking the water in the restaurants - it is filtered. Highly recommend

Holiday Inn meets Olive Garden

Fair hotel. Food is pretty good but the restaurants do not accept reservations so they are difficult to get into. The buffet cafe is good. Beach is nice. Service is very slow. Staff are not friendly.

Great staff, nice hotel, preferred club BS

Posted Mar 16, 2017
Pros: Staff.
Cons: Food, clean seaweed on the beach, don't sell preferred club If you don't have spaces on the beach.
Location: Nothing.
The hotel is not very big. The staff is friendly. Entertainment so so. We made a huge mistake by getting the preferred club which was absolutely waste of money. The were never spots on the beach at preferred area. You could not tell a difference between preferred member or not regular member. So anyone could go to any pool or beach area. Also they claimed to serve premium alcohol for preferred members between 10:00 and 10:30 pm but the only premium alcohol they had was whiskey black label. Overall food was OK. The beach was not cleaned from seaweed. My kids enjoyed the kids club.

Living the dream at Dreams Palm Beach.

Posted Mar 14, 2017
What can I say about the fantastic experience at dreams palm beach. Upon arrival we were greeted with smiles and a glass of champayne. The check in was fast and very informative about the resort property and daily activity. Though most days were rainy and cloudy, the staff made sure we were always having a great time. The food at the world cafe was delicious and service as well. The fine dining was also well executed and little to no wait. The room was always clean and very prompt when we requested room service. My father who has never travel to Dominican Republic, says he would like to go every year; expecially to Dreams Palm Beach hotel. My girlfriend, father, and myself rate it a 5 star because of exceptional service received at Dreams Plam Beach. We look forward for next year to return and have another wonderful and relaxing vacation.

Close to PUJ (Punta Cana Airport)

Posted Mar 7, 2017
Pros: Proximity to airport. 20-25 minutes
Cons: Food/Dining Experience: Resort does not have reservation requirements for dinner which causes long lines and wait times during peak times
Dreams Palm Beach receives an A for effort, but this hotel is truly a 3 star accommodation at its best. Between the lack luster service of employees, the inauthentic food options ( rarely ever offered "true" Dominican cuisine ) and the room decor/amenities, Dreams Palm Beach leaves a lot to be desired. Two things I felt extremely mislead by: (1) $200 resort credit -- Upon booking you are lead to believe you will receive a resort credit to be used at your discretion during your stay at the hotel. However the credit is portioned out to at least 10 different coupons that CAN NOT be combined. So what that means for you the guest is $40 here, $20 there .. oh and $10 off a bottle of wine. My husband and I were planning to visit the spa during our stay by using this credit but unfortunately were unable to do that. There is a way to receive an additional $100 spa credit, however it involved a 1 hr breakfast AKA time share discussion where they try to sell you on their vacation club throughout other AM resort properties. Although tempting, our 3 day vacation was too limited to be engaging in any discussions that do NOT add to our ultimate goal of relaxation. (2) The room accommodations -- My Husband and I initially booked the Deluxe Tropical View via Expedia, however decided to inquire about a room upgrade the day of arrival. Luckily, there was an upgrade available however it was an additional $50/day. Upgraded room was not as described. No pool view as promised

Dear Jasmine, Thank you for your feedback and staying with us. We truly offer you our most sincere apologies for the dissapointments you experienced, since as a service oriented company our principal goal is to provide all of our guests with the best and it is a shame that we were not able to make you join the great number of customers that we make happy on a daily basis. Regarding the resort credits, the use of these can be ask since the moment you get advise about the promotion. About the room view, when our guests book a tropical view room we can´t guarantee if it is gonna be located on pool or garden front, if they have an specific view request this needs to be ask for and will always be base on availability for more organization at time of the room assignments. Our reservation department and social media are always open to assist the guests with requests. With this being said, we appreciate the time you took to share your concerns so that we can take them as an integral part of monitoring the quality of our products and services. Hope you change your mind and give us the chance to turn around your last experience. Best regards,

Great vacation with a great property and awesome food! Would highly recommend as we have stayed here several times. One big negative if the new Unlimited Connectivity however.....Waste of time as no one in our group could get it to work at all on entire stay.

Nice hotel if you complain and overlook things...

Posted Mar 3, 2017
At first we were given a really terrible room. It was moody, musky and they use a powerful disinfectant to mask it. The bed sheets were used and not changed. The drinking glassses were chipped. Bloodstains on guidebook. A/C broke down. After complaining quite hard, they moved us to another building (from building 8 to building 7) which was a completely different world and better on all metrics. But by the fact, they tried to stick us with the shockingly bad room in the beginning soured the whole stay. It was no accident. Someone said, that because Expedia charges the hotel such high commissions that they gave us the bad room. On top of all that, there was still hard sell by the concierge services to sell either time shares or something. They tried to get my whole family to attend some seminar for 90 minutes. Then finally the woman trying to sell us a package, ask us to do it so she could get her commission. No thanks. Even other staff shook their heads at the hard sell. The +VIP $200 in vouchers is a joke. $10-$40 dollars off overpriced services is a scam. Then there was the receptionist who was making Asian caricature mimicking while talking to me because I'm Asian. No funny, not right anytime but much less your receptionist at such a resort. So basically if you book through another booking service and complain and aren't Asian and don't mind a hard sell resort packages from staff, it could be a pleasant place.

Nice Hotel needs some improvements

Posted Feb 27, 2017
Pros: The rooms were nice. The pool was great. It was very nice having a balcony. The housekeeping ladies were very nice and helpful.
Cons: The food was not great. I have stayed at the Secrets in Puerto Morelos Mexico and the food was much better. Train you staff.
Location: We took the excursion to Santo Domingo which was great. Really enjoyed it.
The hotel was very nice. The beach was wonderful. The pool was great. What needed some work was the service. The waiters in the restaurants were all very nice. The hostess at the restaurants seemed annoyed, were unable to give you an estimate on how long the wait would be (isn't that their job??) and the waiters at the beach would either ignore you or take an order and not deliver the drink!!! The person at the hot dogs at the lunch stand was unpleasant and downright rude. They kept on running out of food at the lunch stand and you just had to wait in line. It just seemed like lack of planning and anticipation of how many people were waiting.

Needs improvement

Posted Feb 24, 2017
This hotel did not meet our expectations. I will write about just some of my concerns I had,If I start writing about all it may take days. We stayed in the perferrred part of the hotel.First of all the food was okay at the main cafe. El patio and Chinese restaurant was terrible with even worse customer services. Room service is a joke. We ordered cookies and they came with ants on them. When I brought this up to preferred management they said they will look into it and that was it. I have stayed in 5 star resorts all over the world and have never left dissiappointed until now. This is at best a 3 start resort not what they claim 4.5-5. I will never reccomend this place to anyone. Entertainment is non existent. The shows started at 930pm making it hard for little kids that can't stay up that late. The positive out of all this was that our morning housekeeper was great. She was always smiling and ready to help, I can't say that about anyone else at the resort.

Nice pools and beach access.

Posted Feb 15, 2017
Pros: The staff! They genuinely seem happy to see you and strive to make your stay as good as can be. The grounds are beautiful.
Cons: The smoking was awful. Cigars and cigarettes can be smoked anywhere! You could choke to death wherever you are. Kids SHOULD NOT be allowed by bars.
Location: Location is fine - nothing to do outside the hotel grounds, but excursions available.
The staff is absolutely the best we've ever experienced! The friendliest, most professional, and overall nicest people to work with. The grounds are lovely and well manicured. Beautiful surroundings. The food is good and the activities and excursions are wonderful.
