Overall we enjoyed the experience, however at the hotel they allow other companies, such as tours,in the hotel. These employees were very persistent and annoying the first few days. It got to the point where we were suspicious of everyone who tried to speak with us.

Not my expectations

Terrible beach dirty water no hot water poor ac walk a lot sales people at the lobby super aggressive food good at the buffet Oscar is the best .poor entertainment a lot of flyes around your food .pool very nice and nice gsrdens quick check in and checkout.....never again Bahia Principe at jamaica is the best...

Not as good as the Bahia ,in Punta Cana.

We just came back yesterday night with bug food according to Dr. The food looks delicious and pretty good but something went rung obviously. We like it the facility looks nice and clean beautiful landscapes ,nice Beach . We got one night on the dark the power went off only the emergency lights worked on the lobby but in the bedroom complete in the dark thanks to our cells , and no apologies. The TV had a lot of static we called the reception to complain they came over and next day it was the same again. The internet was working find even in the beach until the day before departure I couldn't be in contact with anyone. Sorry I don't recommend this resort.

Small, cheap resort

The worst resort I've ever been to. Penny pitching all the way. Everything dies out at 6 pm, except one bar. Entertainment is very poor. One mandatory show from 9pm to 10 pm, some Spanish music and then a Disco that no one goes to at 12 ( mostly because DJ is highly unprofessional ). My phone was broke for the whome day and no one lifted a finger to help. Food is sub par, menu didn't change for the whole week we were there. Well... You get what you pay for... Lesson learned.

Get what you pay for

Location: Location is not great. Far from airport and close to river.
This hotel is not bad. It is very clean which is a plus. The air conditioner in the room was broken and we had to ask twice before it got fixed. The staff did not speak much English, which was very frustrating. I had a very hard time even ordering a drink cause they did not understand me and pointing was not working either. Also, you cannot find a seat on the beach unless you wake up extremely early and save one. I know this is a common problem, but it is not something I want to stress over while on vacation. The water was not blue because it was close to a river. The entertainment was mediocre at best. We did an excersion on day and it was nothing like what was explained to us and I was very disappointed. For the cheap price you pay, if you just want some sun it is not a bad vacation.

Friendly people made this a great vacation spot.

Pros: Everything was included. If you wanted something and asked a hotel representative they did their best to accommodate.
Cons: Sometimes the food on the "hot line" was not hot.
Location: Many tours are offered by different companies that provide options to laying on the beach.
After a two hour van ride through the countryside from the airport we arrived at the La Romana Resort. A luxury hotel with every amenity one could ask. The selection of food in the buffet was the best I have experienced. Many salads, antipasti, breads of all kinds and desserts to die for. Main courses ranged from fish to pork to beef to chicken, all excellent. Specialty restaurants ranged from fish, Mexican and Italian; reservations are required, get on the list on your first day! Our room had a king size bed with private bath and patio. We met people from France, Germany, Netherlands, Italy, Russia, Canada and the U.S. Everyone was friendly and enjoyed sharing stories around the bar. The pools and beach and the bar was only a short walk away all drinks included in the price. Plenty of beach lounges were available, even if you arrived late. There was a restaurant "on the beach" which had a bar and served food from 11:00am until late then the burger bar was open all night. Food was always available. GREAT VACATION SPOT !!!!!

The service and food were awful

The food was really bad. Most of the hot entrees were visually very unappealing. The quality of meat was poor. The children with us refused to eat the burgers, hot dogs, pasta and pizza. The fruit was very inconsistent and frequently rotten and dry. The restaurants were better but the main dining room was poor. The service was below average. The tables in the main dining area were often dirty and missing silverware and napkins. The gym was lousy. 2 treadmills and 2 spin bikes. No space to stretch, no towels, no water no elliptical machines. The staff was not attentive. Often it took 3-4 requests to get something or they didn't know the answer to your question.

Location of the hotel and room are perfect. The personal is nice although (except for reception and restaurants) communication in English was difficult. The only problem is WiFi: available for free only in the reception area, very slow and requiring re-connection every several hours.

An all inclusive that really is just that

We were very pleasantly surprised at the overall facilities and cleanliness of the hotel. Wh en it says all inclusive it really was just that. Even cocktails and luxury coffees were included
