Punta Cana

Posted Nov 16, 2017
Pros: It was on the beach. Most of the food was ok.
Cons: The staff need to be more helpful. Maybe go to some kind of guest service classes. Rooms need to be updated. House keepers should have more training.
Location: They have lots of excursions near by. Hard rock casino just up the road.
The staff are not helpful with anything. It’s like your putting them out. The guest service staff are rude. It took us asking for the clock in our room 4 times over a 4 days before it was brought to our room. Every day we had to ask for face clothes. House keeping would take out the dirty towels but never replaced them. Some days no coffee in the room sometimes no water. It was always something that was not done. The pool was dirty every day. We would go to the pool first thing in the morning and it had not been cleaned. Trash all over from the day before. Pool full of sand. Kids with dirty diapers, kids throwing up in the pool.. Don’t go to this hotel. Not worth the money.

Resort compound is vast with various hotels

Posted Nov 12, 2017
Pros: I like that there are various entertainment for everyone and that living quarters are in walking distance of living quarters, the beach and a-la-carte
Cons: Internet Service is not the best; better at a-la-carte restaurants. Free Wi-Fi should be available throughout the resort for everyone.
Location: There's not much to do or see in the immediate locations outside of the resort; actually the surrounding areas outside the resort is dilapidated
We had a fun, wonderful experience at this resort even though it rained almost every day during our short stay - 5days, 4nights from November 7th to 11th. My disappointment with the resort was that we only had free Wi-Fi service in the main lobby which was not always reliable, and A-la-carte restaurants which were better than the lobby. To receive free Wi-Fi throughout the resort you would have to upgrade to Amber Green or Blue areas. The staff at the buffet and throughout the resort were very pleasant. My warning to future vacationers would be: be aware of the guys in the middle of the village area of the resort who claim they will give you a good deal on souvenirs. Purchase your souvenirs only at the stores in the village that has the price posted on the items, otherwise, they will rip you off by double or triple over-pricing these items. We were ripped off by at least $80 on items that should have only cost $20- $60.

horrible service

Posted Nov 10, 2017
concierges were rude and disrespectful. We got there after hours but we had paid for the hotel in advance, room that was given was without air-condition and the concierge said well there is not other room till 2 hours from now so share rooms with the other people you are with, the next day we try talking to the manager and he said well thats not what i was told by my staff. at least you had a place to sleep. We paid like everyone else were not asking for anything other than what everyone else was give. not a good experience all staff was rude in the reception.

Extremely spread out resort

Posted Oct 29, 2017
Pros: the bed was comfortable
Cons: have the same liquor at every bar, vary the food choices at restaurants, have other breakfast choices
This resort is huge and I ended up in a room VERY far away from the group I was traveling with. Most restaurants are buffet, and they all serve the same food. Only one was open for breakfast. Not all of the bars carried the same drinks. We were in one pool and that bar didn't have vodka so they told us to go to a different bar. None of the frozen drink machines seemed to be working so instead of getting a Pina Colada, you would get coconut flavored milk. The coffee machine in my room still had the coffee grinds from the previous guests in it and we never got enough towels.

Ladies trip gone wrong

Posted Oct 29, 2017
We had our ladies trip there last week. If it were not fit the fun women in our group, I would have left. The food was mediocre at best. In our rooms, the air conditioner was never cool enough, the safe box (that they charged $4 a day) didn't work, never had enough towels, the floor was dirty, not one clear channel on the TV, they stole my bathing suit from my deck, no door knob on the bathroom door and no house phone to call the front desk. Luckily we had a great group and we made the best of it.

Nice resort and very friendly staff

Posted Oct 22, 2017
We had a great experience. The staff is very friendly and very attentative. Our room was okay. Had some issues with sugar ants and a leak in our bathroom but overall fairly big for my self and my family. Our room cleaning lady was great. The resort is very big. There is actually a lot more then one resort in that location. We were located right in the middle of everything which was very convenient. There are shuttles that go around to pick you up and drop you off at the beach or the pool or where ever you want to go in the resort and you are not waiting long at all. I was a little worried before our vacation based on reviews of how big the resort was and people not making it to destinations on time but that was not an issue at all. The food was good at all the buffets and at the restaurants which you have to make reservations for. I recommend doing that as soon as you arrive because it gets full quick and you don't want to have to eat at the buffet every night. We were there for one week and got four dinner reservations at restaurant which were all very good except the hibachi I don't recommend that restaurant. The night time ennteratinment was very good. Lots of concerts, and shows.Overall it was a great experience and I would recommend this resort. Take care of your resort staff and they will take great care of you

This was a wonderful experience this is our second time in six month at the Grand Bahia Principle Our room was clean great Everyday by Rosa. Our VIP concierge Lenni was wonderful to work with. We are already planning our next trip and we are definitely going to work with lenni and I hope we get the same room because Rosa was such a joy when we saw her. Anyone planning on going to Punta Cana must stay at Grand Bahia Principle I give it a five-star

FOOD AND ALCOHOL IS TERRIBLE

Posted Oct 5, 2017
Pros: The rooms are very nice.
Cons: The food can be improved and cooked thouroughly and add premium liquor to the package.
Location: it was ok location wise.
I stayed at this resort in Jamaica and its totally different there is no premium liquor included and the liquor included made me sick so I had to go and buy my liquor of choice. In Jamaica premium liquor is included. The food made my stomach hurt every day some days I didn't want to eat because I was afraid my stomach would start hurting. I didn't enjoy my stay at all. I DO NOT recommend this hotel to anyone who is traveling to Punta Cana. The food at the buffet was not cooked all the way looks like they just threw it together it made me sick to my stomach!!! Also, the beach was too far from our room had to take a shuttle to the beach. The men stared at me too much flirting even when my husband was with me they made me feel very uncomfortable.
