Big resort with lots to do!

I loved my stay for the first time in DR. The resort was larger than expected but I really enjoyed staying @ Bahia Principe.

The hotel is massive. There are multiple hotels on same complex. The people are generous and food was ok. Beach was awesome.

Would never go back

Worst check in, worst service, and terrible food! Property is nice, but staff are not friendly. My experience makes me want to never visit Punta Cana again or visit their franchise anywhere.

Hotel is close to beach

Pros: I didn't like anything about this hotel.
It was our third trip to Punta Cana, we stayed before in different hotels and we were very happy, that's why we came back. But this Hotel is not clean, you have to ask for everything multiple times. Our room wasn't clean, sheets were very yellow and towels. Housekeeping horrible. Rooms very dark, not enough lights. Very large hotel but not enough space on the beach or pool. Staff in the hotel didn't speak english. I wouldn't recommended to anybody. Very bad experience.

Wish I was still there!!

Over all we had a great experience, staffing was very nice and accomandiating beach was beautiful however I wouldn't really recommend it for a young couple only because there's not really any night life the shows that are put on end kind of early and the only night life going on was there was a dj starting at 11:30 but over all great experience food was great drinks were good as well and the people on the beach trying to sell you things weren't as aggressive as I have experienced in the past at other resorts that was a huge plus for us because we love to enjoy the beach!

great hotel and location

Pros: easy to get around
Cons: Make reservations for dinner before you arrive. I tried to make them when I checked in and all restaurants were booked for our entire stay.
Traveled with my 2 kids. Easy to get around. beach was great and room was conveniently located.

Clean resort, great beach, but not great food

Pros: Resort grounds were immaculate. Staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. Beach is beautiful. Pools were great.
Cons: Food! I traveled with nearly 25 other people and all agree the food was not great. I'm not trying to say anyone became sick but it was not good.
Location: Stayed on the resort almost the entire time except for a 4 hour snorkeling/booze cruise excursion which I highly recommend.
Overall, it was a good vacation. I just have to stress that the food was not very good. This was our first all-inclusive so I can't give any comparisons but many others who traveled with us who have been to other all-inclusive resorts agree that the food was lacking. Surprisingly, even two of the restaurants we dined at on the resort were not very good. In particular, the Italian and Mediterranean restaurants. The Japanese restaurant was actually very good. I can't say anything about the other restaurants. The check-in process was a little hectic and some rooms in our group were either not available right away or were dirty upon arrival but I will attribute that to the busy spring break period. All accommodations were made within a couple hours at most. Waiting in the beautiful lobby with free drinks made the wait more pleasurable. Beware of the pool near the beach. In particular, the swim-up bar area. While beautiful, it can get very rowdy so if you're traveling with young kids, you might want to utilize the other pools. On the other hand, the swim-up bar near the beach is perfect for those looking let loose. One recommendation, bring plenty of sun tan lotion! Lotion sold in the resort hotels are completely overpriced. Expect to pay $30 or more. I know they are in the business of making a profit but they are clearly taking advantage of those in need which is disappointing. The beach area is amazing and water is beautiful.

Should have went elsewhere.....

Pros: Someone broke into the room next door robbed them and then tried to break into our room. Cant come up with much just yet, but i will keep trying...
Cons: Fix the rooms, Security, Buffet needs an overhaul. Same things served everyday, all day.
My Dear Wife spent hours planning this vacation. Was excited for all of us. And ????? Flags went up at our arrival- We have arrived at the hotel around 2pm. We told that our room will be ready at 3pm (normal check in time), then were told the room will be ready at 330pm, then finally at 4pm they gave us a key. walked into the room and the first thing we asked about another bed. There are 4 of us, and only one bed. We are a family with 2 kids. We booked a room with 2 beds. The bellboy told us they will be bringing in the bed shortly. Its now 9pm, and still no bed. My wife and i went to the lobby and spoke to a nice lady who informed us that there are no beds available and we should return tomorrow. At this point, we realized that its completely pointless talking to her and asked for a manager. He had a similar approach and said "If we have a bed, we'll send it over". This was when i lost it. I practically yelled at him and demanded that they honor our reservations. Within 5 mins, they had another room with 2 beds. Hooray, i say. The bellboy brings us back to the old room and then into the new room we go. The new Room - Corner light not working The outlet and a switch by the coffee machine are both falling out - I would say this is a hazard for everyone. Room was not cleaned until 4pm number of times. (Explains why we couldnt get in our room during check in) The cleaning Lady was yapping up a storm from 9am up until 4pm. non-stop chatting with absolutely everyone.

Pros: comfortable and spacious
Cons: restocking of rooms...
Location: decent excursions
overall excellent... maid staff often failed to put new towels, shampoo, etc. in the room... toilet paper and Kleenex boxes left empty... safe kept malfunctioning... had late checkout (1pm) but room entrance lock deprogrammed way earlier...unable to access the room...many activities meals were at (or left from) Punta Cana proper , and golf carts would not transfer us to their porch...but still ok with the general Fantasia experience. Mexican restaurant wait service forgot us after our order... eventually when notified, they brought fajitas that were boiled not grilled and tasteless.. we left relying on the buffet only...
