There is no fine print...

Pros: Regular hotel staff (waiters, bartenders) were excellent! Management was the problem
This is an abbreviated version of the letter that I sent to IFA headquarters: My “Superior” room had mold, leaks, and chipped furniture and the list goes on. I expressed my dissatisfaction with guest service and was ignored. I eventually called Expedia and I was told that I would be moved to another room the next day between noon and 2 p.m. After I spoke to a representative from Expedia, a maintenance staff member named Junior said he would make sure that the move is definitely going to happen. The next day (July 22), around 2pm I call the front desk to check on the status of the room switch. The claim they have no records of the room switch and transfer me to guest services., The reservation manager said that I could not be moved into another room because the hotel was booked and I had a promotional room and therefore, I could not get a renovated room. I wanted to check out, but I could not get a refund. And I worked really hard to take my family on this vacation and I didn’t want to take away from their experience.

Very nice hotel

Very nice hotel, not too far from beach about 5 min walk, very nice pools only there was never enough lounge chairs for everyone. Staff was very nice and always willing to help and have good conversation. Food was not the greatest but was not too bad because of the many different options, always a lot of food. Great relaxing vacation!

Hotel checkin was okay. Suggestion would be to greet guests with a better welcome greeting. Offer to store luggage in a secure room and not in the open. The staff in the main souvenir shop were not professional. I purchased a coffee cup and immediately after I paid for it I noticed a chip on it. I didn't even walk away from the counter and was given a huge hassle about it. The girls were speaking badly in Spanish not knowing I understood them. Bathrooms need fixing up. Lots of loose screws. Headboards need more cleaning too many stains. Recommend fans in the Playa club restaurant. Too many vendors being aggressive in selling products and excursions throughout the resort. Pools were great. Bartenders were very friendly. Gym equipment a little outdated. Overall, I would recommend this resort and enjoyed myself.

Beautiful beach, great villa style rooms. However, lobby services were terrible. The resort was very full and only three people were at the counter for check ins.

Nice Hotel with plenty of activities to do

Food was great. Plenty of activities to do. However, the rooms was not comfortable because the bed was like sleeping in a rock. I end up with neck pain and my husband back pain. Also, I can't believe a Hotel with such reputation provide their guest with a mediocre cable tv. I have been complained since the first day I arrived there that the tv is not working. When they finally got it working, it didn't provide clear images and I only had 5 channels barely working. That was for me a minus points. Furthermore, when you came to a foreign country, you are expected to be introduced to the country culture as part of the entertainment, the theater didn't present not a single number that is authentic Dominican culture. Everything was American from Micheal Jackson to Madonna. I came from the USA to the DR for a change of scenery including from American entertainment. Finally, the housekeeping is horrible. Not only my room gets done very late in the day every time. the girls always forget something, either towel or toilet paper. I did enjoyed the facility though including the pool, the spa and the beach. Food was really good! I will not go back for a second time because of the room comfort.

Poor facilities and service

The staff was very angry and doesn't provide a good service. The rooms were not properly cleaning, doesn't provide clean towels, soap and shampoo. The food is good.

Hotel description update.

Horrible called for toilet paper and towel since 8am came back from my tour still no toilet paper and towel 8pm I had to walk to guest service and yell them in order to get toilet paper but towel aren't pass out till the following AM what kind of policy is that? Expedia needs to update the their description for the hotel as well there was no Wi-Fi even when my package said it was included. Free WiFi area had absolutely no connection. So if you don't have international plan or a call card don't expect to be able to call your love ones at home. Service was horrible even though we tip them every single time we were in contact with any staff. Got to a point where I didn't even bother to tip. Horrible is the only word that explained my experience.

Pretty enjoyable stay

Pros: Great staff, but management can be rude.The grounds are pleasing, the gym was a pleasant surprise; the beach and the pools were very nice.
Cons: It can get very crowded--especially the pools. The rooms are generally comfortable and clean, but not outstanding. The food is okay; some excellent.
Location: Not too much to do but relax by the pool; there is a movie theater in Bavaro as well as a mall, and there are a few clubs nearby that are fun.
The resort is enjoyable if you like resorts; there is nothing outstanding or disappointing about the resort; the staff is exceptionally friendly and eager to please. (I always tip well, and dollar or two goes a long way for the incredibly hard working and devoted staff.) I'm not big on all-inclusive resorts,and I don't expect too much, but this place was enjoyable. The food was good/acceptable if not predictable, and it does become routine to eat the same, day after day, although there are other restaurants if you make reservations. The pools are excellent but can become overly crowded as with just about any resort. There is a fairly well equipped gym. The grounds are pleasing and well maintained. Overall, it was relaxing and fun for us.

Reasonably priced resort

We had a lot of fun. Night activities were very good. Great shows and the discoteck was really good. Outstanding food and wait staff is exvellent. Tip them please. Trolly service could have been better. Schedule for trolly seemed inconsistent. Adult beverages were excellent. Food, while excellent, was available but not 24x7. Very reasonable availability but if you get the munchies very late at night, I didn't notice a place to get a snack.

This was the worst vacation ever!!!

From my account with Expedia you can tell how often I travel and the different places I've traveled to. This resort was by far the worst resort I've yet to visit. The hotel staff that works for the company Nexus excursions is a big rip off. I paid 196 to do an excursion to the Isla Saona on May 29th 2017 at 750 am. I arrived at 730am I reported to the desk. The employee named Alejandro was there and told us to wait in lobbyand the bus never arrived I stood there to 9 am when I asked him about the bus at like 815am he said 2mins away. Long story short he told me that I was never there after I checked in at 730 am. They never returned the money. We also rented a car but due to the heavy rain we did not get to use the car. The rental guy Elvis charged us $290. $90 for the day $200 deposit. He never returned the deposit. So that's $400 just taken away for services that was never received. The hotel entertainment staff was drinking on the clock being very touchy with the guest. The food was monitored and had no large selection. One staff asked my fiance if he wanted to make a deal for his Gucci sandals he had on. We did not feel safe at all. The last two days I didn't not leave the room. I was afraid to walk the hotel. I would not reccommed this resort to anyone.
