Pros: The beach is beautiful and the staff is superb
Cons: The food is so so. Right there with the sea, the seafood is not as fresh as at any other general restaurant. I suppose that is from cooking in bulk.
Location: It is a resort cut off from any town. But the day long snorkeling trip was great.
We had a great time. But an all inclusive feels a little canned.

I would recomend this hotel if you travel with the kids, although this hotel defently requires renovation, looks very old, food was the same every day,,,, stakes were great,,,,

Lovely grounds, but service could be better

The positives: The property is beautiful. The seaweed was removed every morning and we did not see or smell it while we were there. The beach was large with a lot of chairs and shade. While we were there it was busy, but we were still able to get chairs at the pool. All of the grounds were well manicured and easy to get around. The negatives: The rooms are dated and not nearly as nice as rooms that we've had at similarly rated resorted. We had a beach front room, so we would guess these are some of the nicest. The bathroom was small and the water pressure was inconsistent. The maid did the bare minimum and we only received new shampoo and conditioner once. This was a problem as the shampoo in the shower dispenser was the worst smelling thing any of us had smelled. With the exception of the two bags of chips we had on the first day we never received any more snacks. Suggestion: It was hard to know what activities were going on at the resort. At other resorts we've stayed at with turn down service we've received a sheet describing the next days activities. That would have been very helpful at the resort especially in knowing what was going on at the sister property. If the hotel wants to be green they could link that information to the web page where you had to put in the wi fi password.

Beautiful hotel and accomedations.

Pros: Food was excellent and the variety was exceptional.
Cons: I went there as a single traveler and felt very comfortable and safe. Would be nice to have a dinning area set aside for singles to mingle.
Traveling as a single I felt safe and never felt uncomfortable sitting by myself at meals. Would be nice if an area was set up for singles so that indiduals could meet other people traveling solo. The accomedations were beautiful and the addition of the brand new fitness center was a real treat. The beach was beautiful and at different times during my 2 1/2 week vacation the ocean was calm and other times had some strong waves and some seaweed. This was taken care of by the staff and the beach was always beautifully taken care of. The meals were always interesting with many delicious varieties of foods available.

A beautiful view from our balcony.

Pros: Every employee greets you with a smile and a hello. I have never been to a friendlier place. Ramona did a great job keeping the room clean.
Location: The beach is one of the longest I have ever seen. Walking the beach is a popular thing to do. There are excursions and parks nearby
We paid the extra for a room with an ocean view. You never know till you get there if the view is going to be that great. This one is. We liked the room but even more we loved the balcony. The beach is lovely and this hotel has thatched roof umbrellas for when you want to get out of the sun. Lots of the other hotels did not have any shade. There was entertainment every night and it was really pretty good. There was plenty of bars and enough restaurants that we ate at a different one every night. On the one day we couldn't get a reservation to a restaurant on our hotel property, they suggested one at a sister hotel nearby and drove us back and forth on one of their golf carts. Everyone acted happy to help with any requests.

Picturesque.

Pros: The layout, the staff, the amenities.
Cons: The quality of the entrees at the buffets
Location: Bavaro beach area has high quality beaches. Many water sports were available. Many excursions were able to be booked on site.
We loved the Iberostar Bavaro Suites. The free standing suites are nestled in groves of palm trees. We loved the seclusion and privacy that this type of resort provided. The rooms were spacious and beautifully decorated. The fresh flowers throughout the space are such a sweet touch. All gathering spaces throughout the resort are equally beautiful and inviting.The open air restaurants, the pool, the beach, the water park, the lobby and various bars are all wonderful and tended by amazingly friendly and helpful staff. The only none four star rating I would give is to the food. There were tons of options at the buffets but many items were only ok. The specialty restaurants were not at advertised also, but it was a relief to have something different from the buffet. I will say the fish was amazing as was the fruit. As a family of 4 with 2 young adults we had a fantastic time and would go back. It a big bang for the buck!

The hotel is really nicely located and the beach is beautiful. The first room they gave us had a damp smell. We asked to change rooms and our request was respected. The second room was perfect.

All inclusive hotel right on the beach

Pros: The rooms are clean and spacious and close to the pool and restaurants. The staff go out of their way to make guests happy.
Cons: Our first room had a musty smell, and we were quickly moved without incident. This was so apparent; suprised the cleaning staff hadn't corrected this
Location: Right on the beach! We sat around the pool, or on the beach, and just chilled out. If there were other things to do, we didn't partake.
This was my second visit and was better than the first. This time, the hotel was decorated beautifully for the holidays. We ate at the New Year's buffet and they served lobster and filet mignon. Food was awesome as always.
