Loved our stay at Luxury Bahia

It was our first all inclusive vacation with my husband. We loved and enjoyed every minute of it. Beach, rooms, pools, food and restaurants and staff were great. It is a large resort so it was good 5 min walk to the beach. from ambar 2.Everything was amazing and we will definitely will be staying again. It was an amazing experience and we couldn't be happier with this resort..highly recommended

Don't go if you're looking to play tennis.

Decent hotel overall, but did not meet my expectations. Pros: Friendly staff. Beach had mimimal seaweed. Property was clean and well maintained. Food was above average but not great. Cons: Alcohol was not premium liquor and drinks were a little watered down. Everything was too spread out over 4 different resorts. Entertainment was subpar except for the Michael Jackson show. All resorts shared One Main Theatre which was always overcrowded and standing room only. Called 3 times about missing room iron. Went to dinner with wrinkled clothes. Had to call for a replacement refrigerator. My biggest disappointment was the tennis facility. Took lessons the entire week with Pasquale who was fantastic. However we only had about 20 balls to hit with which caused us to keep stoping to round up balls. Even worse was the fact that most of the balls were old, discolored and flat. It was an embarrassment that a multi-million dollar resort with 3 tennis courts would have such an oversight given that a new can of balls retails for around 3 dollars.

3 1/2 stars or bad luck

Pros: Their friendly service from their employees (except Jose, the manager of the Amber section) and their beach.
Cons: Management. They have service but is not organized.
I've been in this hotel twice, first when it was a 5 stars (was not) 2 months ago and now when it is a 4 star hotel; It seems that this hotel need a better management because this time we received a service of a 3 or 3 1/2 star hotel: First, when we arrived, our room was not ready so they offer us a different room and we were moved the next day, everyone knows how annoying is to be moved from one room to another. Second, the security pin on my door broke along with a piece of wood from the door that hit my wife when she open the door. Third, although all the staff in general is very courteous, there is a manager on the Amber hotel section that was very rude, his name is Jose. Forth, one leg the little bench next to the mini bar broke and I fell, Fifth, no water after 2 AM, we couldn't take a shower or go to the bathroom, we wash our hands with bottles of water. Sixth, 2nd day with no water after 2 am. this time after a very hard complain the water system worked. Seventh, internet didn't work properly so I have to buy an hour of internet to get my job done. Eight, noise on the halls because the employees open their radios and speak one to another. Ninth, the bellboy arrived 20 min late. For every complain I made I receive an apology from customer service. I guess some vacations have problems but I think we received many this time. Maybe I'll give them another chance and that would be for the service I received from their friendly employees and the beach they have.

Underimpressed

Pros: Loved the grounds! Absolutely beautiful! People so friendly and kind.
Cons: DRINKS for sure. Fresher drinks more beers. Snacks more available at more times. Entertainment on the adults side till later and more often
Location: Not a lot to do. We stayed at the resort
The hotel was beautiful, very clean, great room and bathroom. The people were friendly. Beach was amazing and always a chair anytime we wanted one. That was about it. While the buffet offered many choices of food nothing wowed us. My husband found plenty he liked but it was just so so to me. The drinks were watered down and all frozen drinks pre-made. Entertainment was more of a scavenger hunt to find it and then mixed with kids. We didn't take our kids and really didn't want to vacation with other peoples kids. At night the adults side was dead and all the action was on the kids side. No games, no sports. It was very strange. Some fun games and dances at the pool but mostly spanish music. Tipped here and there when people went above and beyond. I will not stay at an all inclusive that accepts tips again. I don't like to feel obligated. It was a nice vacation but I wouldn't go back for an adults only visit.

The hotel was at a good location. It was right there on the beach. The resort is pretty big so they do have buses that take you around the hotel to get where you need to go. They operate from 6am-3am. The only thing I had an issue with was the male staff was incredibly nice but female staff was completely rude.

Fell short of expectations.

The grounds and buildings are nice, properly maintained; looks beautiful. The food was subpar and depending on which restaurant you go to you feel like they are ignoring you; service not great. Some of the staff can barely understand English. I went for a trip to the buffet and a couple stole my table and then when I went up for a second trip after finding a new table, the staff had cleared my entire table coffee and silverware were taken away! The Dominican restaurant Los corales I never go a refill on my beverage and my main dish was served cold! The piscina bar at Ambar is were I had the most fun and the staff was really nice and friendly! The gyms on site were very old and outdated especially on the Ambar side where it is supposed to be Luxury, it sure didn't seem luxurious. Most cardio equipment did not work as well. Night club was fun and enjoyable. Overall I would stay somewhere else next time.

Decent stay. Food was okay. Service could be better. Restaurant staff were awesome. Rooms were clean. They are hardworking people. Pool and beach are clean and beautiful.

Beautiful resort but many issues

Pros: The pools and restaurants were very nice.
Cons: Overall customer service. INTERNET, air conditioning in rooms, signage for better directions, keep pool bars open longer, better communication
Location: Parasailing, golf, water sports
Language barrier for non Spanish speaking guest. Air conditioners do not work well in older rooms. Wifi was very difficult to use. Pool bars close too early (5:30pm). Getting lost on the resort was almost everyday thing since the signage was not adequate. The resort seems to have left out a lot of little details that guest look for in a luxury motel.

Amazing All inclusive resort

Absolutely Loved this resort. Every staff member was friendly and went out of their way for you. The bed could have been just a touch softer. Stayed here for our honeymoon, and enjoyed every minute of our stay, from the food/drinks, to the nightly entertainment. The resort was clean and comfortable, and the beach absolutely perfect. Highly recommended.
