Great choice

This was our first experience at any luxury bahia principe. We will definitely return. Everyone was extremely friendly, and helpful, the resort itself is always kept beautiful and clean. The food at the buffets varies everyday with some staple items staying the same, overall great. The a la carte restaurantes Which we had access to are a most! Don Pedro restaurant and Rodizio are excellent. In our personal opinion Le gourmet was our only bad experience during our entire trip (but we could tell something was wrong at the restaurant , mostly because of staffing) if you are a perfectionist our room needed a fresh coat of paint, But since we spent most of our time out we didn't really mind much. If this is your first time in DR. Also take the Saona island trip, it's beautiful.

We were disappointed. It's not luxury. The food was bad, we couldn't get a wash cloth, every room service or was wrong.

Not a 4+ star hotel.

Pros: The grounds and beach were beautiful and we could easily find chairs at the beach or the pool in the sun or in the shade.
Cons: Cleanliness, Food, Attitude of Staff.
Location: Stayed close to the beach. Not much to do nearby. Tried to use hotel paddle boats but never available.
The grounds of the resort are beautiful BUT there are many serious shortcomings. The first and most important is cleanliness. The sheets on our beds were blood stained and this was ongoing even when we asked for the sheets to be changed they were replaced by other stained sheets. The same can be said about the beach towels. We had to keep trading in stained towels for cleaner looking towels. Advice to management: Get rid of your stained linens. Whenever I think of the Bahia I will think of the disgusting linen that was given to me to sleep on and lye on over and over. The cooked food is really really bad!! If you can get through your stay eating bread, salad, fresh fruit and cheese you will be okay but if you want good hot meals you will not get them at this resort. There were some really pleasant staff members but they were the exception and not the rule. Most appear resentful about being there and most of the staff do not speak any english so we found the language barrier challenging throughout our stay.

Pros: The resort had things to do. Was very family friendly
Cons: food could be better. 2 out of 4 of us became sick from the food.
The resort and pools were very nice. Well kept. There was a lot to do without leaving the resort and the grounds were kept beautifully. Service was good but not great. When we checked in we tried to get dinner reservations but the process was very slow. We were told many of our choices were booked and when we arrived at reservations we had, there always seemed to be empty tables. The resort should communicate with you prior to visit so you can make reservations in advance.Many employees did not speak English. Food definitely below par. Two of our party became ill from the food.

My wife and I had a great time there!!! Hotel staff is nice, food is good, pools and bars are very good.

Cohld have been better

Pros: It was just big.
Cons: The food was like fast food and they made no effort to change the food. The bathroom had no fan. The rooms were bad and looked more like a 2star hotel
Location: Far and expensive
Compared to the other hotels i have been to it could have been better. For example the food had no diversity and was very greasy. The lobby didnt have air conditioning so me and my family for dying of heat.

Very nice hotel right by the beach

Pros: Nice rooms, family friendly, good food, friendly service. We had access to all the neighboring properties. There were several nice pools and a mini water park within walki g distance. Cons: We wish they had a kids show in the evenings like other resorts we've stayed at but there was one at the neighboring Grand Bahai Punta Cana. Not much to do in the evening. Also was difficult to get dinner reservations at decent times and room service took forever and brought us cold coffee. Overall, really liked it!
