Excellent hotel

This hotel was great! The staff was super friendly, very attentive to our needs. The food could have been better, but either way, it was edible. The pools are amazing, all of the activities are great...I just loved this hotel and I’m coming back!

Preferred Club Only

I brought my mom here on vacation. This is my fourth time to DR. Everything was great minus the food. When I go to a different country, I want their food. I guess they have to cater to the tasteless European and North American tourists. Preferred club is the only way to go. We got a free room upgrade. The staff is very nice and very attentive. I would come back but not for as long as I stayed this trip.

Waiter (Junior) - Carnival restaurant

The highlight of my stay at the hotel was that of a waiter called Junior in the carnival buffet restaurant. Very good at what he does, professional, courteous without overdoing it as most of his colleagues did. He made me look forward to visiting the restaurant for his service. The overall hotel experience was ok with the hurricane and all. I don't think I will visit the hotel again. Everyone however, did a great job turning things around after hurricane Maria.

a quick vacation

Cons: desserts and some drinks like mojito, pina colada
Location: you can go to coco bongo
my wife and i went for 2 nights 3 days. we were at now larimar at the preferred club. we love everything f the food, pool, beech, etc

Excellent anniversary trip--even in a hurricane

Pros: Room: Clean, well-stocked, good AC (although damp at times), great wifi. The beach and pools were perfect for relaxing. The bars had premium alcohol
Cons: There were lots of people pushing the excursions all the time, but they took no for an answer. Report anything missing/broken in the room upon arrival
Location: We didn’t venture off the resort or take any of the excursions, so we can’t comment about those. There were several people pushing them all the time,
Hurricane Maria didn’t stop us from having a wonderful time at NOW Larimar. We celebrated our 20th wedding anniversary in style in the Preferred Club tropic view room. I would highly recommend the preferred club because it came with several perks. Our personal concierge, Raffel, was outstanding—ask for him, he really made it worth it. Before arriving, I read all the reviews and had mixed ideas of what to expect. The friendliness of the staff all across the resort exceeded my expectations. The room was good, clean, well-stocked, good AC (although damp at times), great wifi in the rooms and around the resort. The beach and pools were perfect for our goal of relaxing, reading books and forgetting about the stress of work. The bars in the Preferred Sections stocked premium alcohol (Jack Daniels, Sapphire, etc) and nice variety of snacks. We ate dinner at all six restaurants and had a romantic beach dinner. The variety was perfect, the portion sizes were nice (sometimes we ordered two salads or entrees to try new things). Even the buffet was beautifully prepared and full of good food. We wanted to relax and be pampered—and that is what we got. Raffel took care of the reservations for our beach cabana (which included a massage), the romantic beach dinner and specially prepared bath in our room, the couples massage in the spa, helped us extend our stay an extra night, and more. We didn’t venture off the resort or take any of the excursions, so we can’t comment about those.

Worst Resort ever

This place was a disaster the mini bar is a small refrigerator that didn't keep any thing cold only soda and 4 beers no alcohol at all we had to get our own ice they didn't even service the room till 4pm we asked for just Diet Coke and it took them 3 days to get that right we were there for Irma they said stay in your rooms we will deliver your breakfast the night before then lunch the next morning the breakfast was yogurt and ceral a piece of fruit and juice and milk no spoon the spoon came with the lunch the food was awful except for one restaurant the only thing they did right was authorize Expedia to refund us for the 5 days when we left early to come home and prepare for Irma

And in addition to the beers in the minibar, you can request wine by glass through room service which is available 24/7. On the other hand, consider that in order to guarantee the safety of our guests, we must take security measure during the threat of Irma hitting our country. We reiterate our apologies.

Lack of variety of food...culture of the staff

Culture of all staff is lacking customer service. All-inclusive hotels are for guests to escape to a wonder world. Where we would have staff asking us, what do we need ? May I help you ?

Hotel is outdated and the food is terrible

Pros: The Staff Marcellino, Juan, Loius, Glady and Abrahim
Cons: The beach had a lot of seaweed. that was the only negative but the resort has 5 swimming pools.
Location: Trip to Saona- we booked it with Sea port via Santos Parasailing -same as above
Very nice stay when there for my 26th birthday. The hotel is more geared toward relaxation and family trips, if someone is looking for a party scene best to look at other resorts like breathless but we also had a good time. It was the amazing staff who made our vacation so great, starting from Juan who is the lead bartender/manager and life of the party at the swimming pool bar. To Loius and Gladys they on the preferred side so friendly and positive, & Abrahim he made our day in the cabana by the beach so so amazing! Last but not the least the awesome Marcellino, he is the Guest experience manager- starting from the first day till the very last helped us out with everything and was always making our experience even better by going extra mile. Cant thank him enough. Marcellino, Juan, Loius, Gladys and Abrahim are BIG asset to the AM start team. Thank you so much
