Amazing!!!

Lots to do for kids. We brought our three. Beautiful grounds. Good food. Great staff! The rooms need some updating But they were fine. We are already planning our return!!!

BEDBUGS & ROACHES!!!!! STAY AWAY

We (group of 12 in 4 separate rooms) got to the hotel and check in is at 3pm.... we were told some of the rooms were not ready...go eat something and the rooms should be ready in 20 mins... 45mins later we were told to come back in another 30 mins. Long story short....we didn't get the rooms til 4:30. Food: Low quality, flies buzzing all over the buffet Room 5108.... everything looked fine...in the day time. Stay tuned Room 5112....this was one of the late rooms. Floor was wet...and we had no towels Room 5113..... large dead roach found under pillow on 2nd bed. 4th room no problems Room 5108- 3:20am.... my 76yr old dad calls me frantically... he says there's bedbug in his room... shows me the bed (3 bedbugs he just killed and blood stains) and one trying to crawl out of site, which I crushed it....again more blood. We call the front desk, they send someone over, we show him the squashed bed bugs and blood and he tells us we are wrong, those aren't bed bugs....we google "bedbugs" show him, and he still isn't convinced. He then transfers us to room 5122 and that room had yellow and brownish stains on the white sheets...pretty easy to point out. So they transfer my parents again, to room 41 something... imagine how upset my 76yr old dad is to switch rooms twice at 3something in the morning... needless to say he's didn't sleep the rest of the night and felt itchy... If we weren't a group of 12, we would've checked out right then and there. MANAGERS DID NOTHING, STAY AWAY

Not the best experience

The pool and beach location were perfect but unfortunately the hotel stay was not. The staff was not very helpful or friendly. Restaurant facilities are not open at all hours and reservations were booked leaving us with a less than desirable buffet. We didn't have towels in our room and took until midnight for someone to bring us some. The fridge does not come stocked and alcohol selections at the bar are slim. We were disappointed with this stay.

Nice hotel, on a very beautiful beach.

Pros: Location.
Cons: Food.
Room: Very basic, but clean. The bathroom was a bit sad, and the shower had no water pressure. We stayed in one of the rooms in the northern half of the property which face onto the Hotel Riu Republica's pool area which is VERY loud during the day. Fortunately it gets quiet after hours. Hotel Common Areas are mostly clean, modern and well-kept. The pool areas and gardens are lovely. Food: The buffet was a complete disappointment. Do yourself a favor and ensure you book at the restaurants for meals. Drinks are weak. Hotel staff are mostly accommodating, many struggle with English (this didn't really put me off, but some travellers should be aware). Best tip: Bring your own reusable cup (the bigger the better). Avoiding plastic cups is not only better for the environment, but you get bigger drinks, and sometimes stronger drinks. It's a win-win for the hotel and guest.

Nice Hotel but not so nice food and service!

Pros: Nice architecture and layout and clean beach (not so much clean on the pools)!
Cons: Quality of the food, staff attitude and room amenities!
Location: The hotel is far from the closest city and difficult to get around.
In a nutshell it is a beautiful hotel with a nice layout but not so nice when it comes to food and service. It's kind of secluded and difficult to get around the area. We got sick and we found it far to go to the closest small town and very expensive if used the in house doctor. As far as the food concerns, comparing to many other hotels we have been in Mexico and Central America, it was not good, especially in the main self service dining room. Even though there were a bunch of stuff on the buffet but the quality of the material used were low. For example during the two weeks stay we weren't able to get a beef dish even stake that was tender (even hard to cut it with knife, obviously using low grade meat) or the seafood was very smelly and all we ate was just some chicken and vegetables and fruit with a limited selection. The quality of the food was better if prior reservation was made on the other restaurants in the evening. In general the service was not acceptable. It was hit and miss, sometimes you could find someone that genuinely was a good person and was nice too you but lots of attitude or carelessness from majority of the staff! and it wasn't just us, we heard it from other guests too! The room was just Okay. Couldn't get much water coming from the shower head and found roaches a couple of times! The hotel has lots of potentials but has a very "WEAK MANAGEMENT". Need a new management with better sense of customer service and care for quality!!!

Lovely hotel

It was a great experience. I was in my honeymoon with my husband and had a blast. The only thing I'll change is the staff kindness. They're not nice at all. But overall..LOVED IT

Nice hotel close to the beach. Fun by poolside too

Pros: Rooms, Pool area, Drinks at bar
Cons: Towel inventory, Front desk information & Customer service (varies by person sitting on the other side of the desk)
Location: Beach, drinks, fun
Rooms - 4 stars. Good rooms and clean. We got the ocean facing room. Front desk information & Customer service - Front desk and customer service could definitely get better with their communication process. I wish they could give detailed information about the restaurants and the reservation process. I would suggest providing this information in a booklet in the room - that way customers don't have to call/go to the customer service rep to ask basic questions such as how/where to reserve a table at restaurants Pool area - Pool area is great Towels - Towel shortage.. all 5 days. Big problem for a resort that is beach facing and has a big pool. Build you towel inventory guys! Drinks at bar - 5 stars.. great drinks - very generous on the alcohol (I guess that is one of the perks of an all-inclusive)

Affordable All Inclusive Hotel

Pros: Pool and beach area
Cons: Service for the buffet. Very difficult to even get a cup of coffee.
Location: 30 minutes from the airport. Close by for multiple attractions.
This all inclusive hotel certainly isn't a five star resort; however, it was very affordable for a family of four traveling on a budget. So.... with expectation management well in mind before we even left for our trip, my family and I were pleased with the overall experience. The hotel staff isn't the friendliest I have seen in my travels but then again it isn't the worst either. The rooms are average and slightly on the old side requiring updating. But, we expected that before we arrived and were not disappointed or disgusted with our room stay. The beach and pool area was five star quality with no complaints. The food also was better than average for an all inclusive hotel (the service was not good in the buffet area of the hotel but very good in the restaurants). Given the latter points is where we spent the majority of our vacation - outside by the pool or on the beach or dining at one of their restaurants we would have to recommend this hotel to future vacationers looking for an affordable place to visit and vacation. Not bad at all - just go in expecting what you pay for.

NOT THE RIGHT HOTEL!!!!!

Pros: hotel was fine again not what I booked

where to begin: first when I booked my stay I requested an all-inclusive adults only resort and that’s what I thought I was getting. to my shock when I showed up at the resort I noticed right away kids everywhere and when I questioned the clerk he said no, that’s our sister resort . I tried to get ahold of Expedia right away but never got past your phone system. I am completely disappointed with the entire trip. not against kids but I ask for the adults only and now I want you to explain to me why you didn't do as I ask. Personally, I think I should get my money back. another thing is my guest that met me there left 2 days after she got there sitting she had no desire vacationing with a bunch of screaming kids so I paid for her for nothing. Please tell me it was an over site and you’re going to make this up to me. As I have used you in the past and had good results, but if there isn't anything done to rectify this I 'm afraid you have lost a customer.
