Amazing Trip

My visit at ocean blue and sand was awesome. All the staff were always at our service, happy and full of joy. The food was delicious and the hotel was beautiful! I can't wait for my next visit there.

Resort is old and tired. Best assets are intrinsic... beautiful weather and beaches. And of course they try and get you to do the obligatory time share interview.

AI Report with Beach, Pool and Food

Pros: The pool view rooms are great. Enjoyed the direct access to the beach and pools. The 2 huge pools with swim up bars are fantastic..
Cons: Be honest with guests that the welcome breakfast is a sales pitch. Provide promo info about the H10 premium and let guests decide if they want more.
Of the many all-inclusive resorts I have experienced this was the best. The grounds, beach, pools, bars and food are all excellent. The staff is fun and friendly. Just say NO to the H10 premium welcome breakfast to avoid wasting a 1.5 hr long sales pitch. Other than that everything was fantastic. We did not feel safe leaving the resort except on tours or walking the long beautiful beach. Punta Cana is not a tourist town to freely roam. There are several excursions to purchase if you want more than the resort. Whaling watching to Sanoma is very good.

Do Not Recommend

This resort is completely out dated, dirty, with bugs. Rooms are uncomfortable, bathrooms dirty, outdated, no water pressure, the shower was moldy , outdated, bed was hard as a rock, pillows smelled, blanks stained, outlets broken, lights broken, NO Beach to speak of it has been washed away so do not believe the pictures on thier site. Food was always cold, two/three restaraunts closed per night. When they say two buffets its not its one with two seperate seating sides. I have to stop- DO NOT waste your money here. Im just warning you. We love the DR, but not this resort. Poor Pete and Casey an elderly couple staying for two weeks wanted to leave the second day.

Poor Rooms with bugs

Cons- checked us into a double bed room when we had ordered a king bed- called reception and was told these were just "requests" and we could be moved tomorrow. Asked to speak to the manager and they magically found a king room. In both rooms, bathroom was not clean and had a musty smell. Only given 3 pillows and beds were hard. Had small roach-like bugs in our room that they were spraying for the day we left. Maids didn't always clean the bathroom or give us new towels despite us leaving them on the floor. Beach also had these giant sandbags in the shallow water that encompass the whole shallow area, we had walk down the beach to take any nice pictures. Also, the h10 people non-stop harass you for their premium plan- we skipped the meeting (thank god we transferred rooms, they couldn't find us and had tried calling our old room) along with vendors and excursion people harassing you while on the beach and by the pool. It rained for 4 of our 6 days but obviously that's not under the hotels control. Pros- other staff, including waitresses and bartenders were great. Jorgelina (a waitress at the buffet) would leave fresh flowers and napkin arrangements on a table made just for us every morning. Bartenders made the drinks strong even though we usually only tipped half the time. Food was just ok- nothing special overall but the hibachi place was very good, almost comparable to hibachi places near us in the US. Overall, wouldve given this place 3 stars if it wasn't for the bugs.

The hotel it's okay but no 4 or 5 star maybe 3 star but the room is so bad smell so badly to much humidity

Decent Resort

Pros: Decent beach, good food at specialty restaurant and nice rooms.
Cons: They really need to improve their entertainment.
Location: They offer optional excursions but there really isn't a lot of options outside the resort. 
Ocean Blue was a decent resort with a good beach and nice rooms. The food at the buffet was pretty good for breakfast but disappointing for dinner. There were several specialty restaurants for dinner and the food was pretty good. The entertainment was the biggest weakness. The shows in the evening were terrible and a waste of time. This is a club member resort so be prepared for a sales pitch to get you to make a long term commitment to H10 Premium resorts. Over-all it was a decent resort if you are just looking for a place to relax and sit in the sun. Not a big draw for younger couples looking for fun activities and entertainment.

Excellent Service

Pros: The waiters at the Margarita Restaurant celebrated our birthday without asking us to do it. Thank you very much.
Cons: What I did not like is about the constant employees making you go to the orientation for the Time Share offers (H10 Priviledge)
Location: Great location and great activities.
Our experience was 5 stars. The employees are the nicest persons you will know. Thank you for the best trip and for the birthday celebration.

Great resort

We had a great time. The staff was really friendly and helpful. We had an issue with out safe the first day and it was fixed immediately. I would recommend this hotel to anyone and would surely go again. Thanks ocean blue for a great vacation

Not too bad. Good price.

Pros: Pretty good food. Good restaurant selections. No reservations required.
Cons: Don't allow soliciting. That's the worst part.
Hotel needs a bit of an update but definitely still nice. Hotel staff was about 50% as far as friendly customer service goes. Please stop the on site sales/hecklers from bothering people as they are trying to peacefully get around the resort. We actually ended up taking routes we knew they would not be at. They stay at all of the main walkways so they can get to everyone all day.
