Hotel needs renovation. Room was cold, damp

Pros: The staff was great.
Cons: FOOD!!! Dehumidifiation in the rooms.
Location: Ocean front, but very small beach, water did not look good. Nothing nearby.
Very uncomfortable room. Food poor to mediocre at best. Staff was very friendly, pleasant and helpful.

Beautiful grounds, very clean!

We had visited 2 yrs ago and they have made improvements! Lovely hotel, friendly staff. Beach not very large but well kept. No water sport gear..food was ok but not great! Could use more lounge chairs and shaded areas. Plenty to eat and drink! Pool areas are very nice..very clean. All in all, a good value for a vacation!

Pleasant Location and beautiful grounds and Beach!

Pros: on the beach, quiet, close to the airport
Cons: Room service, offer rum outside of Dominican Rum (although very good rum, would like different offerings)
Location: South East , Sanctuary city nearby. we really didn't leave the resort though and that was our objective to stay on site.
Our trip started off great right from the airport, we booked through Prestige Limosine, the airport staff showed us where that transportation was but just fyi airport employees will approach you fast to ask if you have any transportation when waiting for your bags-if you checked. It was about 15 minutes from the airport. We arrived at the hotel with warm welcomes from the staff. They encourage you to speak spanish which we were ok with. Check in was smooth but we had to wait 2 hrs past check in to get into our room. The grounds/pool/hotel accommodations were great. Very quiet resort which is exactly what we were looking for. The do have vendors set up on site a few of the days we were there but we didn't mind, just ignore if you dont want to buy anything. The Food was good at the Blue Marlin and the main buffet breakfast/lunch (can't remember name). They had a pig roast one night and you could have them grill your meat of choice.. a lot of options. We ventured on the Taco Truck in the little village across the resort-which was really good as it seemed very Fresh and made to order. Room service, not really impressed at all, seemed to be left overs from buffets /offerings that day or hopefully not the day before. If you want room service, call an hour ahead of when you want to eat as thats how long it took. I wish they would have just been honest with the time of how long it takes. Overall great experience and some staff VERY friendly some did not want to be there

Pros: Grounds of the hotel were beautiful
Cons: Beach area, Expected the food to be much better than it was.
Very nice hotel, expected the food to be better for the price and quality of hotel. Beach area could be improved, however there is a very nice beach within walking distance. Not very many activities available on the beach.

Beautiful Infrastructure but very bad maintenance

Pros: the service was excellent
Cons: improve room service and cleanness
at first, everything looked nice, but when you looked in the room details, it was terrible, very dirty, and poor maintained. They switched me to another room 2 times! Because the room was so badly maintained, no light, old... very disappointing for such an expensive hotel. Its a pitty such a nice hotel is so terribly managed.

Resort was beautiful..Staff great..

The staff is what really makes this resort not to mention the beauty of the resort as well.. Food was incredible. The beach was beautiful but the water was a little to cloudy for me..maybe due to the rain. Beach is small, but all the different pools made up for it..definitely will go back.. Special thanks to Daniel/Excursion and Nathaniel and Alex..

Vacation for Royalty!

Pros: Cleaniness, amazingly kind staff, breathtaking views, calm environment
Cons: We only got turndown service once, and everytime we requested something (mainly towels) it took them at least 3 phone calls to comply.
Location: We went on a half day boat excursion stopping once for snorkling and then at a natural pool-half day and amazing trip!
Absolutely amazing experience with my mom for my birthday in December! Don't listen to the bad reviews...they made me second guess my choice but I am so incredibly happy I spent my birthday week here! There were a few quirks, but nothing to keep me from coming here again! I found this place looking for resorts and was rated in the top food all inclusive resorts in the entire Caribbean, and it definitely showed! My mom is and extremely picky eater, but she ate absolutely everything and loved it all. The entire resort is ridiculously clean, and our room was fabulously spacious with great sized toiletries and great shower. We stayed in the castle which is a short walk from the main activities, but we loved having our own private pool at the castle with hammocks and a bar. There are golf carts driving people back and forth from the castle to the main lobby constantly. The castle upgrade is definitely worth it for honeymooners! Quite and out of the way you feel like you're on your own private island. All of the garden views while walking around as well as the architecture...are absolutely breath taking. The resort is definitely worth the money!

Perfect location & facilitie & spectacular staff

Pros: The facility overall is wonderful...especially the castle rooms.
Cons: The disco is dated and could be improved to encourage guests to stay longer each night by playing music that everyone wants to hear or will dance too
Location: Location is secure , safe and clean... the public beach next door is spectacular and is a nice break from the hotel routine even if just for a walk.
Enjoyed the entire facility ...all inclusive and adult oriented made for a relaxing , fun holiday. After the 1st day you start making friends with not only the staff but also other guests! At check in they suggest an upgrade to your room ... they show you something nicer than you had booked and you really don't know if you are getting a deal or not ...there are also many rooms types that are not shown on line even at their web site so you are at the mercy of deciding on the upgrade in a fw minutes at check in. We upgraded and loved the room.

Very nice hotel

This hotel exceded my expectations everyone one treated me and my wife like royalty. The staff went Obote and beyond to make us feel welcome. We celebrated our 25 anniversary at sanctuary and were very pleased. The best part is that the hotel doesn't attract the party animals and the loud obnoxious people it more of a couples retreat , old and young
