Excellent friendly staff. Mediocre food and adult beverages. Good evening entertainment. Beautiful grounds and pool. Now Larimar, a step down in resort level and family friendly, was located just steps away. Guests at SRB have access to Larimar which was nice because they offered additional dining options.

Disappointing Secrets Resort

The staff seemed to think that if closing time was 11 they should quit serving at 10:30 - 10:45. This was across the entire hotel buffet, restaurants and bars. We actually had the hostess tell us they closed the buffet in 10 minutes when we arrived at 10:35am and a manager chase us down at our table to let us know again that they closed in 10 minutes. The food and service was not even close to 4 star. We have stayed at another Secrets resort and picked this resort for that reason, we were very disappointed. Actually we found one employee that was amazing and needs to be singled out - LEO ON THE BEACH. When you have groups of people shouting out hello to someone that's outstanding service. He should be promoted to train the other wait staff. The bar service was horrible - on the two occasions that I stopped to get water the bartender walked away to talk to a fellow employee and left me standing at the bar. Very very bad service, they could learn from Leo how to be personable and friendly.

Great Resort, Had a great time

My friend and I went to celebrate my birthday and were so pleased with the resort. The room was very nice, all facilities were nice, and the staff was very nice. The food wasn't the best but we didn't expect it to be phenomenal. Portofino was our favorite restaurant. We wanted to go to the Seaside Grill but it was for preferred members only which was disappointing.

Not bad considering its an older resort. It is well kept. Grounds are nice and well landscaped. Restaurant's are ok. The barefoot grill on the beach has the best food. Chicken, burgers, hotdogs, shrimp, pork chops, salmon. Pool area was more for the party people. I loved the freeform pool!! Beach area was great as well. You will get asked to buy things from the locals....a bit annoying but wasn't bad. Didn't care for the group/company that ran the resorts beach amenities. Overall the staff was great but as always there are some that are "ok" . You can visit the Now Larimer next door it is a little nicer and seems like it should be the adult only resort it has the casino, better bars and restaurants. Overall we enjoyed it and would go back.

Resort was nice. Liked the choice of restaurants. Rooms were just OK for the price we paid. Would go back but will try another resort next time.

Please do not be fooled by the photos

My girlfriend and I stayed at this property in May 2018. We travel a lot and have stayed at many properties around the world and speak from experience. The Secrets Royal Beach Punta Cana is the absolute most disgusting, trashy, over-priced, and overall most terrible hotel I have been in. The food will make you vomit, as my girlfriend did. The staff is not only rude and unhelpful, but the constant hawking at my girlfriend and unwanted advances by certain members of the male staff was very unprofessional. Calling management during my stay proved no relief to any situation or circumstance. Also, everywhere we went, something did not work. Whether it was the steam room in the spa, or the hot tub on our terrace or the toilet bowl that overflowed onto my feet while I was using it. This place is to be avoided and please do not waste your time and money as my girlfriend and I did. The drinks are watered down, the food, whether at the buffet or restaurants I tried such as Steakhouse and Japanese is simply the worst food I have ever eaten. Not fresh, re-used from prior days, stale, and disgusting, loaded with salt and other preservatives to try to maintain freshness. I can not stress this enough, the place should be closed down and immediately. Several guests were complaining of bites to their back and legs and were waiting on the staff to run tests for bed bugs. The atmosphere is terrible. No music at the pool, no music at the beach, not enough lounge chairs. The worst experience.

Excellent Hotel

Excellent room, services in general and amazing food. The only thing this hotel should get better is the beach cleaning. With this would be perfect.
