Pros: I scheduled a deep tissue massage at the spa. Best I ever had, and I have had many! They also have a Hydro Pool and reflexology area to enjoy.
Cons: BEACH /Seaweed
Location: We never left the resort.
Just returned from The Reserve with my husband. 1st time there. The Reserve is exceptional. I had read reviews on all the hotels there and we decided on this one. Glad we did! The entire staff strives to please and accommodate you. Every employee goes above and beyond to ensure you are happy. We felt pampered staying there. It is a short walk or shorter golf cart ride to the sister hotel Paradisus Palma Real Hotel which is also Top Notch. I have travelled to many islands, cruised, all inclusive and The Melia Group who own both hotels is the only way I will go in the future. The buffets were exceptional (and I am a fussy eater) Lobster Tails, Fresh Caught Tuna, Grouper, Salmon daily. Chinese Food exceptional, Chicken Fried Rice! Something for everyone there. Great nightly entertainment, sometimes low key violinist/sax players or a Cirq de Sol themed show. My only disappointment was the seaweed issue all across the coast line. I am a beach lover, it didn't stop me from going in, but it stopped my husband. Apparently, it has been an issue for a few months, they do there best to clean it up, but none the less it's there!

Classy, private resortPosted Aug 7, 2015
Pros: Beautifully decorated, clean, excellent service, numerous bars and places to eat. Always something going on too!
Cons: I would make it clear to guests that a majority of the restaurants require dress pants so travelers come better prepared than we did.
Location: Right near the beach. Plenty of water sports. Fitness/spa options. Night time entertainment--shows, singing, musicians. Near shopping area too.
This was our first stay in Punta Cana and we were very impressed. The Reserve is a more private area of the Paradisus hotel on the beach--there are only 400 rooms--so it always felt like we had the place to ourselves. Although it's not right on the beach, it's only a quick golf cart ride away to the bigger sister hotel that is beachside. The decor and grounds are gorgeous with a great deal of attention paid to merging indoor and outdoor spaces. The lighting is also outstanding--beautiful backlit features are everywhere, colored LEDS surround the eating areas/bars, contemporary light fixtures and sculptures all illuminate in spectacular ways. Our garden room was very nice inside and always cleaned very well each day. The all inclusive food/drink was also a first for us but now our preferred way to vacation. There are always activities during the day and at night across fitness, spa, dance and entertainment. We loved the trip and are planning to go back with the kids (only if they're good because we also like the romantic getaway!).

Dominican Repulic Beach HolidayPosted Aug 7, 2015
Pros: The main resort was beautiful with many different restaurants.
Cons: The service, friendliness of staff and the variation of breakfast- 11 days with the same cooked breakfast was hard to manage.
Location: Shopping adventure park watersports
The Reserve at Paradisus Palma Real labelled the luxury experience for families did not live up to expectations. The room was large enough but furnishings were is poor condition and the level of cleanliness poor. The room had an ant problem also which was not addressed when I reported it to reception. Service in restaurants and at poolside was variable. The food was average, we didn't go hungry. The bars were good but none possessed any cocktail menus. The entertainment was very good, loved Lion King. There was lots to do, but overall staff not helpful.

Great resort, clean, friendly staff, decent food.Posted Aug 2, 2015
Pros: Friendly, hard working staff. Very clean resort. Staff are always cleaning. Rooms are excellent. I would return to this hotel. Decent food.
Cons: Little things, e.g. Replace supplies like towels, soap, restock in room fridge. Also, fix the broken tiles in the pool.
Stayed July 25 - Aug 1. Myself, wife and 7 year old. Pricy but no regrets. Our previous trips were to the Beaches in the Turks and Caicos in 2012 and Half Moon in Jamaica in 2014. This resort and our experience was quite different from those other two. But it was a pleasant surprise. This is a very nice and very well kept resort. Of course it is a newer resort. It was not crowded. Very hot, but no real rain, just a sprinkle (and I mean a sprinkle) on two days. The staff were friendly, pleasant to deal with and always aimed to please. They work very hard so don't hesitate to tip if you feel like it to show your appreciation. No issues with the food, it was above average for a resort. Lots of variety for a week stay. No food is in the open. For open air restaurants the food is in an air conditioned closed section. We did not get sick. Nor did we hear of anyone else getting sick at The Reserve. Francis in the Family Concierge was a pleasure to deal with and did much to make our stay wonderful. The guys at the HG were great (bartender Virgilio, Wilkin, Teoy, Ziren) We had a few small issues, minor things like broken alarm clock, problem with remote for television, everything was quickly resolved. There is seaweed in the water and quite a bit washes ashore. Staff cleans each day but there is a lot in the water, so don't let anyone tell you otherwise (but then we had a worst experience with seaweed at the Half Moon resort in Jamaica last year)

Excellent choice for getawayPosted Aug 1, 2015
Cons: The only opportunity I saw was that the cleaning staff did not replace towels each time they clean, the first few nights I had to call for wash cloths
Location: Location was perfect, my husband golfed at a few places.
We had a great time, the people was professional and very accommodating. The food was great, room was clean and the facilities was well kept.....definitely a keeper!!!

Extraordinary grounds!Posted Jul 30, 2015
Pros: staff friendly, room service fantastic, pools clean, rooms very nice, food options, gorgeous grounds like a palace.
Cons: Didn't think some of the restaurants needed the closed toed shoes and slacks for men. The guys on the beach were annoying trying to sell you things.
Location: By the beach and you can find numerous excursions online. We did the short snorkel/catamaran cruise
Arrived smoothly and upgraded to Royal Service at no charge due to the low season partly and to promote it I'm sure. If we return we will definitely do the Royal Service again. You get a cell phone to keep in touch with your butler for anything you may need including dining reservations. Our butler Janfi was amazing and so personable. It truly is a paradise. We were set up in a room very quickly at check in and at the time for our departure, they helped us with our baggage and seen that we caught our transport to the airport. We couldn't have picked a better week weather wise as it was total sunshine everyday for a week and what a relief that was coming from Ohio! The swimming pools are fantastic also. Would return again.

Beautiful family hotel. Kids rated as best vacatiPosted Jul 29, 2015
Pros: THE GROUNDS at the hotel are impeccable. Wi-Fi – This was the best coverage I’ve had at any resort. Food & family concierge )Eunicis) were excellent
Cons: I think the management at the hotel could do a much better addressing the mosquito issue. Spa was beautiful but service inconsistent. Food and family
Location: We swam with the dolphins and the kids ziplined. All within 15-20 minutes from the hotel
We just returned from an amazing stay at The Reserve – Paradisus Palma Real in Punta Cana (July 17-24). We travelled with friends and were a group of eight – 4 adults and 4 children ranging in age from 3 to 9. We’ve been fortunate to travel extensively (Europe, China, Hong Kong and the majority of the Caribbean islands.) To this point our most enjoyable “Family all-inclusive” was Beaches - Turks & Caicos. I’ll say hands down – that The Reserve – Paradisus Real is now at the top of our list and we are already planning our return!! We booked a family junior sweet – but upgraded to a swim-up room (5104), our friends were on the third floor (5218). The rooms were identical in shape, size and amenities, but the swim-up gives you direct access to your room from the main pool. The only disadvantage we saw to the swim-up room was that mosquitoes appeared to be more prevalent on the lower floors. Our friends on third floor had much less of an issue with them.
