Beautiful property, okay food

Location: We went to Isla Saona, Catalina Island, and Wild Ranch Zipline Canopy Tour which were all wonderful and close to the hotel.
Our room was nice, the hotel property was BEAUTIFUL, the food was okay. The saving grace for the food was the snack bar which served hamburgers during the day and the pizza bar that had great pizza and other food after 7:00pm. The buffet didn't have good food and you have to make your reservations for the nicer restaurants as soon as you get there because they are limited and usually booked a couple days out. The beach was beautiful, the bartenders were super friendly and made excellent strawberry daiquiris and mojitos, but the vodka was gross and the Bloody Mary's were awful. The hotel had great excursions, such as Isla Saona and Catalina Island. I highly recommend those two excursions. And the main pool always has activities going on. There were tons of Europeans there, I barely saw any Americans. It was overall a great deal for the price. They will try and get you to do a VIP presentation, we didn't plan on buying any VIP memberships so we were able to get out of it. Just know it's not required so you don't waste your time if you don't plan on purchasing.

Beautiful beach, custome service could be improved

Cons: More than one towel shack, provide clear guidance around hours of operation, staff could be more lenient with times as mentioned in above review.
Pros: Beach was beautiful. Clear water, plenty of seating, covered and uncovered. The grounds were beautifully maintained. The staff does a wonderful job of keeping the guests involved and entertained. The majority of the staff impressively spoke multiple languages. The food at the a la carte restaurants was significantly better than the buffet. Cons: We tried to make a dinner reservation on the day we checked in and we were told we couldn't make one the day we arrived because " we wouldn't be in the computer system yet." They told us to return the following day after 8am to make reservations for the following night week. The next day we went at 3:05 to make a dinner reservation and they told us we could only make them up until 3:00pm. Therefore we had to eat at the buffet for breakfast, lunch, and dinner for two days straight. The buffet was mediocre and not conducive to anyone with food allergies. In order to get beach towels you had to walk the one and only towel shack on the resort which was roughly a quarter mile from our room. We went to exchange the towels at 6:03 and were told we would have to come back tomorrow because they are only open until 6:00pm. These time confusions would have been eliminated if any information regarding hours of operation, restaurants, reservations etc was provided to the guests or was available in the room. The room itself was somewhat disappointing. It was outdated and small. The bedding was rough and uncomfortable.

The vacation from hell

Upon arriving we were told to go get drinks because our room wasn't ready. So we went to get drinks and went back about 30 minutes later and our room was still not ready. Needless to say they never had an ocean front bungalow available for us so they upgraded us to a suite; as the room was nice it still wasn't what we booked. Can only book two reservations. DO NOT eat at la roca, service is terrible. Don't waste your time staying at this hotel. Food wasn't the best and the the staff wasn't the best. Met two other couples who had the same issues with their rooms. They clearly don't have enough rooms to accommodate their guests. Their cleaning service wasn't the best either. Someone's mouth guard was next to our bedside as well. My boyfriend and I made the best of the vacation and had a great time but we won't be going back to this hotel.

Never made it past the front desk

They had our reservation which was made 6 months in advance through Expedia. At check-in the front desk staff took our passports and pointed to a chair and told us to go sit. An hour later we are in a taxi going to some other resort not affiliated with Wyndham. No explanation was given. No apology. Replacement resort was definitely not how we expected to spend our 8 days.

Do not stay if you do not know Spanish

Pros: Clean, fun, great view, easy to walk around
Cons: The food and the language barrier.
Location: The location is fantastic. There was a lot to do and there was a variety of excursions, whether booked through the hotel or outside the resort.
I traveled with a group of friends. Without exaggeration, I think we were the only Americans in the resort. Everything was geared for a European crowd which was not terrible, but we were treated differently being American. The alcohol was watered down and weak. All drinks were sugary and hardly any alcohol was even tasted. The beach is great and the hotel/resort itself is great, but the food and alcohol definitely is not the greatest. All of the entertainment and shows were in Spanish, so we couldn't even enjoy them.

Lots Going For It!

The resort is clean with lots of staff everywhere to help with anything anytime. We had a large clean room although general maintenance is a little lacking (doors that don't close properly). Beds are okay but a little hard for my liking. Beach and pools are easily accessible and clean - watch for some coral rocks in some areas of the marked off swimming area. They caught us off guard on the first day and some of us got hurt. Bring water shoes! Evening entertainment was always well done and fun. Would really have appreciated a handout upon checking about times and activities for the week. That's a huge miss. Food was acceptable for a resort.

Wonderful stay,very close to the beach,pools.

Pros: Every thing was good, the acomidateing ,the events
Cons: Travel time,the flights where terrible.timiming and the lay overs long.we sleeped at Chicago do to no flight the last leg .and the airport closed.
Location: ,zip lines,trapeze lessons for kids and adults,The coordinators did a great job.snorkling shopping ,Dominic bus ride, four wheeling. Lots you chose.
The food was okay some days better then others but good.the entertainment was great every night a show and then a great party with a theme .you chose the day's events snorkeling is good ,we just had a great over all time.we plan on going to this vaction spot again! THey need to speak a little more English . But brush up on your spainish and you will do good.

Excellent beaches, a really warm service

Was a good holidays and I want to get back latter. The food is really good, the guy are helping every body to enjoy every moment there. Many activities to make a more exiting days, the place is huge and it has everything, a especial restaurants ideal for invite your couple to a special dinner and many dishes to try while you are here.
