This resort was so zen, it was the perfect place to just relax. We couldn’t have asked for a more romantic stay.

I had a wonderful experience staying at this property from beginning to end. The staff was very helpful, always pleasant and endlessly customer service oriented. The accommodations where beautiful, clean and up to date. The absolute beautiful of the design aesthetic that uses nature as a focal point was the icing on the cake in this piece of paradise. Not to mention the serenity and fantastic food. I will certainly make this an annual vacation spot and have already told others about it !!

I thought this place was great, but on the 4th day of being there the bug bites became unbearable. You can’t even open your doors. We found a big cockroach, they upgraded us to another room. We got killed with bug bites and when we got home, we realized we had 10x the bug bites due to delayed reaction. The bugs/mosquitoes are so small there and impossible to avoid even if you bathe in off spray. When I first got here I thought this was a 4-5 star place, but after we got home and with the unbearable bug bites which are still keeping me up at night currently, it is unfair for anyone else to have to suffer also. Once again, we had excellent service and good people working at the resort. But trust me, you don’t want to end up spending majority of the time killing or avoiding mosquitos on your vacation and be inconvenienced after your vacation. We will probably get checked for Zika too just in case and won’t be coming back to Zoetry or as a matter of fact, we will avoid DR all together and never come back to the country again.

We truly do our best to have these insects under control and to avoid that they can affect our guests as much as possible. We are very sorry to learn that even after our efforts, you were still affected by these tiny insects. Unfortunately, we have to admit that we can not fully guarantee the total control of them, as they are present in our environment as part of our tropical weather. We will double our efforts in order to exterminate them as much as possible. Our Quality staff is already making strategic changes in our fumigation program for improvement on this sense. Superb beach for walking, at least 90 minutes of clean smooth sand, about 20% other resorts and 80% undeveloped. Shallow slope protected by reef 100 yards offshore provides good swimming - not for small children. Rooms are huge with a "rustic luxury" ambiance that reminds me of suites on stilts in a tropical lagoon. Underlying construction is concrete but you see wood, stone and in the upper level where I was, high thatch ceiling. When you open your eyes in the morning you will know you are not in Vegas or Miami. As many reviews say, this place is quiet luxury, not exciting partying. Staff are plentiful, friendly and try to be helpful. But compared with AMResorts properties I've stayed in in Mexico, the skill or training level was lower here. Disappointing when you are paying for AMResorts top price brand. Examples: Most hot food did not come out on a heated plate. Food presentation worse than you would find at fast casual like Applebees. High quality fruit tray welcome gift in the room did not come with cutlery - most people don't just bite into a kiwi. My VIP welcome included a generous cheese and cold cuts platter without crackers. At check in the personal concierge walked me to the room and explained the resort and said my bags would be there in 5 minutes - a hour later I had to go and track them down. Some bartenders had never heard of common tropical drinks - in today's world a tablet with recipes in each bar seems a reasonable investment.

I did not like to wait 1 hour fro checking and 2 hours ( at 6PM) for the room. Room was twice smaller that what I booked ... Food was just OK . They could not cook eggs correctly ... Staff was nice , except the managers.
