Good location (access to Playa Blanca) BUUUUT...

Posted Dec 18, 2016
We won't be staying here ever again. This was our second time at the hotel. First time was two years ago. (1) the food is not anything special. Also crazy expensive if not included. (2) the room decor is from the 1950's. It's like they haven't put any work into it. (3) Our AC unit was turning on but not functioning. I was traveling with my five year old daughter who was asleep by the time I realized I couldn't make the unit work. Called the front desk. They sent maintenance. They weren't able to get it working despite trying for a long time. I asked for a fan. They brought it. Nobody acknowledged that this was an inconvenience. I am really happy we only had booked one night here (my daughter remembered all the raccoons here from the last time and wanted to see them again). Save your money-save yourself frustration. Stay somewhere else and find the access road to Playa Blanca yourself! We will be doing that next trip!!!

Great Hotel, but the matress are very hard !!!

Posted Nov 29, 2016
Monkies, Macaws, Passoties ( relative of racoons ), Iguanas, and Leather back Turtles . atruely awesome experience. Rooms have recently been updated, matresses are hard to sleep on They should be replaced for comfort. Catabella Restraunts is hands down the best for buffet dinner and buffet breakfast. Lovely place, great staff !! Will return when matresses are replaced !

The white sand beach is beautiful, clean and near

Posted Nov 14, 2016
Pros: The white sand beach
Cons: Remodel the rooms
Location: The complex has it all so you don't need to go out of there, although you need to have a car or other transportation to move around.
I loved the beach! It is very near and the place is amazing! It is safe, clean, pretty and great weather. I didn't like the hotel so much it is a bid old, although it was very clean and the buffet in the morning was great. Also, the pools are nice and activities interesting. The butterflies garden wasn't as big of a deal as expected, not many butterflies (I could see more out side on my way to the garden) I loved that you could see animals in the wild but I didn't like raccoons following me for food at night...

Whatever you are looking for

Posted Sep 8, 2016
This hotel really has whatever you might be looking for, two beaches, loads of vegetation and wildlife, but also restaurants and buses to get around because is a very wide structure. The staff is incredibly kind and helpful the whole time, and always smiley like everyone in Costa Rica!it's almost 1:30h from the airport, and if your flight arrives after 3pm then there are no shuttles (the last one departs at 3:55pm) and a morning shuttle only from the hotel, the taxi ride is 110/120$. No smoking allowed besides two areas in the whole hotel structure as the Costa Rican law implies.

Resort-like hotel

Posted Aug 13, 2016
Stayed here for a few nights. Hotel is okay, staff was alright but not particularly friendly. Hotel is a ways away from anything, jaco is about a 10-15 minute drive. If you're looking for a low-key stay and not planning on leaving resort, it's a good hotel for your money.

Very Firm Beds

Posted Aug 8, 2016
Pros: When you got to Casa Blanca beach there were lounge chairs you could lay on under some shade and fall asleep listening to the waves.
Cons: Less firm beds.
Location: There were also a few good sea food restaurants within a mile of Puenta Leona entrance but not much else. Jaco was 13km away with more things to do.
Over all the accommodations were good and nice room but the bed was too hard for my taste. I'm a side sleeper and constantly woke up with aching in my middle back. It's probably good for someone who sleeps on there back. I have a sleep number bed at home and usually sleep at a 30. I would rate the bed firmness at 90 to 100. Good place to just relax and chill. Went in the Jacuzzi and sat around the pool.

Peaceful, Solitude Relaxing Hotel

Posted Apr 28, 2016
Awesome place, Room with a fridge and beautiful view. Monkeys woke us every morning..... Serenity and peaceful. Rainforest being surrounded by some of Gods beautiful creations . Down a short pathway reaching a pool and restaurant. Always playing soft tropical music....Only problem was our AC unit kept freezing up. We would turn it off for a while and turn back on. Private white beach with Clear Pacific Ocean water looking across to mountains. Sunset was beautiful..... Put put golf, dance lessons, etc... The Security and Entire Staff were Very Friendly... Hope to return again soon!
