STAY AWAY! Pictures lie

Posted Nov 8, 2016 on Orbitz
This was a horrible experience so much so that I walked out 10 minutes after arrival and booked elsewhere on the spot. The outside is strange and unwelcoming. There were construction materials outside the front doors. The second set of glass doors had one entire pain smashed (cracked in all directions), there were hoses laying around to trip on. The man at the front was not friendly, looked inconvenienced. It was HOT in there, no air running at all. With a perplexed and tired look on my face (been traveling in planes all day), I asked if there was some construction going on. He just looked up briefly and said, "yes, construction." That's it! No apology, nothing. I told him that it would have been nice to know in advance and he did not reply. Upon checking in I went down the dark green halls and noticed paint mess everywhere, all the door frames were painted over like they are in the middle of a paint job and just stopped. It's dark and not in a good way. When I finally got to my room and opened the door, it was completely messy! They maid had never even been there! I marched back up front and was so upset by this time that I told him what happened. He just looked at me and then down at his screen and said, "oh, I guess they did not clean it yet." REALLY? YOU GUESS? I was so angry I just told him to check me out and I was leaving. He said okay and checked me out. No apology, no emotion, just seemed inconvenienced. This place is low budget and nasty, pictures lie

We left

Posted Oct 31, 2016
We were supposed to stay two nights and left after we entered our room. Looked abandoned, I think there were about three guests, couldn't see anything, very bad lighting, dark hallways, beds looked very old. floors and carpet were dirty, found food on the floor. it was very bad........we had to pay one night stay, they didn't let us out of the booking. I booked there because it was rated a 3 star on expedia.........don't do it.

Our hotel is a quiet getaway. We are however under construction working to improve the ambiance of the hotel. We double check our rooms every morning to ensure the cleanliness of the rooms to ensure the guest have a pleasant room. We are unable to refund if guest stays the night and uses the room, it is our policy.

DO NOT STAY HERE

Posted Oct 27, 2016 on Hotels
Night stand was crusty and clearly not cleaned, shower had hair all over, toilet was gross, sink was leaking. They clearly have absolutely no regard for whether guests have a comfortable stay or not.

Being remodeled - I'd wait a while to stay here

Posted Oct 3, 2016 on Hotels
To be fair, this hotel is undergoing some remodeling. That said, in this condition, it probably shouldn't be open for business yet. The bad: ONE outlet in the room, with an expansion strip plugged into it to give a total of 4 plugs, 2 of which were for the microwave and the fridge. There was no phone in the room. There was no soap or shampoo in the bathroom. There was no interior shower curtain liner. I'm fairly certain there wasn't a curtain going all the way across the window the first night, just a sheer (sp?). Once in a great while the kids could get a WiFi signal in the room, but not often. When they did, it was extremely slow. "Maybe you're in a dead spot." The good: the hot tub was pretty hot. The free breakfast was okay, but not great. No make-your-own waffles or anything "fresher" like that, but halfway decent stuff in the warmers. When it's ready, it looks like it has the potential to be decent. Until then...you're probably better off looking elsewhere.

We check our rooms every morning to ensure our guests have a pleasant stay. When we check in guests we do ask that if they need anything to please let us know and we will do whatever we can in our power to ensure the guests needs are met. We are more than happy to move a guest to a more suitable room if they are in any way unsatisfied with their current room. Our cook prepares breakfast every morning and we are one of the few hotels that you can still get a hot breakfast. We are under construction but we strive to ensure our guests happiness.

Not the best, but not horrible

Posted Sep 15, 2016
First the good things... The staff was very pleasant and helpful. The room was very spacious, with a desk & chair, a sofa and coffee table, king bed, nice flat screen tv, bench, full size bathroom with nice size counter. The layout of the hotel was nice too, with the center rooms facing the pool area. Now the things that need improvement... There was mold in the grout around the tub. I mean a significant ammount too, not just a tiny spot. The beds were rather hard, and the pillows were quite flat. The office chair had significant staining on it. The air handling unit (heater/ac) made a loud banging noise at random intervals the entire stay. Overall not nearly the worst hotel I have ever stayed at, but it could use some work. A good place to stay if you want to save money, but not a vacation destination by any means.

Old hotel with a nice pond.

Posted Aug 30, 2016
The people here smile but haven't a clue. It's been so long since this place was new. A water leak made our floor. Then the key wouldn't open the door.

smoke alarm

Posted Aug 29, 2016 on Orbitz
Pros: location
Cons: needs major updating
the smoke alarm started going off around 5:30am for no reason, I kept having to reset it every 15 minutes. Called front desk and all they said was "it must have a low battery, we'll take care off it after check out".

Our apologies for inconvenience of having smoke alarm going off as it was due to battery. Front desk clerk should have been more attentive to your needs. Please accept our apology.

Great hotel, good value

Posted Aug 2, 2016 on Hotels
Booked a day in advance at a cheap rate and the hotel was a pleasant surprise. I had stayed here 5 years ago but the recent poor reviews had me skeptical. However, I had no complaints. In fact the hotel exceeded my expectations. Check-in was quick as I paid in advance. Room was large and king bed was comfortable. Shower head was good. Room stayed cool and air conditioning worked great. Pool/lobby area was spacious with natural lighting. Also had a fish pond that included a turtle! Breakfast was buffet style and delicious! Eggs, sausage, pancakes, French toast, English muffins, biscuits and gravy, fruit, donuts, cold cereals, etc. Granted late check out at 2:00pm Overall excellent hotel and I would stay again. Renovations were ongoing and I did not see any of the negatives of the previous reviews.

A good hotel that needs some work

Posted Aug 2, 2016
Pros: Location and price
Cons: Minor things need attention--the desk chair seat had had something spilled or leaked on it (yuck) and the bedside light was broken, maybe even unsafe
Location: Muscatine's Button Museum, Weed Park's aqua center
We knew the hotel would be busy due to a huge local event so we were worried about noise from people partying. I asked for a room that would be quieter and was happy to get exactly that. The place could use some updating (wallpaper in bathroom pealing) and repairs (one bedside light didn't work due to very loose socket) but overall the room was clean and comfortable.
