Not the best, but not horrible

First the good things... The staff was very pleasant and helpful. The room was very spacious, with a desk & chair, a sofa and coffee table, king bed, nice flat screen tv, bench, full size bathroom with nice size counter. The layout of the hotel was nice too, with the center rooms facing the pool area. Now the things that need improvement... There was mold in the grout around the tub. I mean a significant ammount too, not just a tiny spot. The beds were rather hard, and the pillows were quite flat. The office chair had significant staining on it. The air handling unit (heater/ac) made a loud banging noise at random intervals the entire stay. Overall not nearly the worst hotel I have ever stayed at, but it could use some work. A good place to stay if you want to save money, but not a vacation destination by any means.

The people here smile but haven't a clue. It's been so long since this place was new. A water leak made our floor. Then the key wouldn't open the door.

A good hotel that needs some work

Pros: Location and price
Cons: Minor things need attention--the desk chair seat had had something spilled or leaked on it (yuck) and the bedside light was broken, maybe even unsafe
Location: Muscatine's Button Museum, Weed Park's aqua center
We knew the hotel would be busy due to a huge local event so we were worried about noise from people partying. I asked for a room that would be quieter and was happy to get exactly that. The place could use some updating (wallpaper in bathroom pealing) and repairs (one bedside light didn't work due to very loose socket) but overall the room was clean and comfortable.

Nastiest place on earth!

This by far was the nasty hotel I have ever stayed at. There was blood on the walls and bathroom door. The hotel is completely disgusting. Everything was broken, rusted, or smelly. Do not stay here.

Hotel needs work

The room was dirty and the ceiling tiles all had dark stains. The thermostat did not work and the room was musty and hot.

The 70's want it's hotel back!

The girl at check in was not very personable. The further back you go into the hotel the worst it got. Opened the door to find a spiral staircase and a bar in the room. The windows are short but near the ceiling and the curtains did not go all the was past the window. Leaving room for someone to look in. After checking out we got to our venue and was talking to someone from the area and said that this hotel was one of those fantasy hotels and each room had a theme. Just a little strange to have an a joining room number one and then the stairway that spirals up to another locked door. Felt like we needed a shower after leaving.

This hotel was built in 1976 and has been now through the hands of 3 different owners and i said that to say that it has had its good and bad times such as anything else that has aged. But it will take some time to restore it and sometimes it takes some projects longer than others but i would like for you to know that we are doing our best and is working very hard to bring this Hotel back up to date. We have renovated the pool and hot tub and now we are in the process of renovating all of our bathrooms. So we have and are making changes for the comfort of our guest and i hope that you will consider giving us the opportunity to accommodate you when we are done renovating. Thanks again for voicing your concern because it allows us to make changes where there needed including with our customer service skills. Thanks and have a wonderful day.

Maintenance PLEASE!

Pros: The location was convenient to where I needed to be.
Cons: Maintenance needs to step it up a bit.
There was some sort of water issue during my stay. I turned it on and it ran brown and smelled of raw sewage. Every faucet. Just to take a show I had to let the water run for a long, long time just to get it clear enough to feel remotely safe. Yes, I complained to the staff. Also the AC was stuck on cold. I happened to know a little about this so I offered to help them. We found a piece of foam that had been jammed against the AC unit causing the problem.

Family reunion

Came to muscatine for a family reunion. .the room was clean and comfortable, breakfast was good..and it is a very kids friendly place..
