Another classic Fairmont experience

As you have come to expect,the Fairmont hotels know how to make their guests feel welcome. We stayed as a gold guest and the club lounge and the staff were great. Breakfasts beautiful and the club rooms well appointed.

River view

Very nice view. The room feels old but bed is comfy enough. Very beautiful hotel. Worth the stay.

Disappointed.

Pros: Love the location for both Old Quebec and Lower Town.
Cons: Hotel could use some upgrading, carpets, etc.
Location: Old Quebec is just a wonderful place to visit. We also did a Walking food tour which was about 3 hours and it was one of the highlights of the trip.
We have stayed at the Chateau Frontenac before and must say we were quite disappointed on this occasion. The room itself was fine but we ran into major issues while we were there. First the heat was not working correctly and we had maintenance check it out but the could not correct it but instead provided a small electric heater. Secondly, on two different days we lost all electricity because one day the circuit breaker blew when we tried to make coffee and the heater was on and the other day without the heater on the circuit blew when we were making coffee and tea at the same time. Besides room issues, one evening we went to the pool only to find out it was closed and the attendant did not know if it would be open the next day. It was open two days later. While there we ate at Le Sam on three different occasions. The first two times, the meal and service were outstanding. You could not ask for better servers than Richard and Michael and our host, Rosalie, was great in getting us window seats for the canoe race the next afternoon, even though we were asking sort of at the last minute. Our third visit however was extremely disappointing. Right from the start our server gave us the impression that we were inconveniencing him by being there. He was curt with us when taking our order and slamming a candle on the table, placing an item next to an empty glass and never offering to fill it, rarely seeing him and having to search him down to get our check.

Castle like stay!

The hotel is really nice, very good location being within walking distance to all monuments, and large room. The room needs a refresh in the bathroom. Very good experience overall.

Beautiful hotel in Quebec

Pros: Everything
Cons: Nothing
Location: Easy walk to the old city, shopping and the winter carnival. Lots of restaurants close by as well as museums and churches.
My wife and I spent a long weekend in Quebec and stayed at the Fairmont Le Chateau Frotenac and could not have been happier with our accommodations. Every staff member we encountered was courteous professional and helpful. If possible, upgrade to the gold level which gives you access to the concierge on the 14th floor and the lounge on the same floor. We were able to order room service and have it delivered to the lounge, which is spacious and has gorgeous views. We had to amend our travel and the concierge went out of their ay to assist us and arranged for us to get breakfast when the kitchen was not open. The hotel is centrally located and is an easy walk to the historic old city and to shopping areas. A five star visit . We will be returning and staying at the Frontenac.

This hotel is remarkable in every way.

Pros: Our room view included the river and the toboggan run. The gym is large and well equipped with recyclable headphones warn moist towels and fruit.
Cons: The elevators were slowed by the crowds in the lobby. I suspect if had had complained alternatives would have been offered. The was that accommodating
Location: The Frontenac is nearby everything in Old Quebec. Restaurants, shopping, art history are all close by. Down the hill, thing are less touristy.
The hotel staff is amazingly accommodating. They consistently go out of their way to provide a great experience. When I discovered that I had forgotten to pack my gym shorts and asked the concierge where I could purchase a pair, he arranged to have shorts sent to my room at no cost and offered a t-shirt. When I asked about the WiFi charge, I was given a pass code and instructions about joining the hotel's President's Club to avoid future charges should I stay at any Fairmont property. Again at no cost. The facility is pristine, and nicely warm at this winter's coldest point. It was a center for Carnival activities with fun just outside its doors.

The location of the hotel is excellent and walking distance to everything that suited our needs. My only query was our booking stated a King size Bed however the room we were given did not have a King Size bed. Despite this we were very comfortable and would strongly recommend to our friends.
