We have stayed at the Chateau Frontenac before and must say we were quite disappointed on this occasion. The room itself was fine but we ran into major issues while we were there. First the heat was not working correctly and we had maintenance check it out but the could not correct it but instead provided a small electric heater. Secondly, on two different days we lost all electricity because one day the circuit breaker blew when we tried to make coffee and the heater was on and the other day without the heater on the circuit blew when we were making coffee and tea at the same time. Besides room issues, one evening we went to the pool only to find out it was closed and the attendant did not know if it would be open the next day. It was open two days later. While there we ate at Le Sam on three different occasions. The first two times, the meal and service were outstanding. You could not ask for better servers than Richard and Michael and our host, Rosalie, was great in getting us window seats for the canoe race the next afternoon, even though we were asking sort of at the last minute. Our third visit however was extremely disappointing. Right from the start our server gave us the impression that we were inconveniencing him by being there. He was curt with us when taking our order and slamming a candle on the table, placing an item next to an empty glass and never offering to fill it, rarely seeing him and having to search him down to get our check.
