I paid for my room through Expedia around 3 months in advance. I stipulated the need at the time for a refrigerator in my room for my stay. Expedia advises you don't need to call and confirm your reservation but I did so anyway the Monday prior to arriving. I spoke with a woman who joked that she knew someone with my last name and I mentioned the refrigerator request and she said she saw it on my reservation and gave me the unmistakable feeling it wouldn't be a problem. She said nothing to make me think the request wouldn't be honored. The young blonde female working the desk late Friday afternoon when I arrived said the request couldn't be honored. Good thing I brought a cooler for my Saturday event. It doubled as a refrigerator during my stay. The hotel buildings are dated, the rooms, bed and bathroom small and average. No kleenex was in my bathroom so I had to go to the front desk to get some. The computer printer in the lobby was extremely low on ink. Despite booking so far in advance, I was given a room facing Route 4. There was a lot of street noise at night which was rather disturbing. Is this how customers via Expedia are typically treated? The hotel was steps away from a nice breakfast place and under a mile from the event I was attending. Otherwise, my various experiences at the hotel were ordinary to just plain bad. Needless to say I won't be staying at this hotel in the future.

convenient to quechee gorge

Posted Aug 18, 2015
Pros: Staff friendly and helpful; great location for a stop-over between Maine and New York;
Cons: The room was very cold and had an odd smell from the AC. Bed was not so great -- rather lumpy and wiggly for two people to sleep together comfortably.
Location: Queechee Gorge is within walking distance. Simon Pearce restaurant is very close and excellent. Well worth the cost.
Just an overnight. Have stayed several times before but not in a room right on rt 4. Would request a room in back next time.

quiet, comfortable & clean

Posted Jul 3, 2015
The afternoon staff was very welcoming, competant and friendly. The woman at the desk in the AM was the complete opposite. She simply didn't want to be bothered & gave us wrong directions. We enjoyed our stay . Very relaxing. They had worked hard to make the motel as pretty and comfortable as possible.

Thank you for taking the time to fill out the online survey. We apologize that you experienced different hospitality with the am staff as opposed to the evening staff. This is usually not the case here at our hotel so please accept my apologies! We hope you will give us another try the next time you are visiting Quechee! Very disapointed. Hotel was basically empty and they put us next to a beer drinker from VA that we couldn't shake. Basically had to shut the door in his face.use some common sence.space the guests when not busy.

Fine for an economy hotel

Posted May 12, 2015
Pros: Beds/pillows and price.
Cons: AC unit.
Location: Quechee Gorge is amazing. Always has been.
The room was very comfortable, but a bit worn. Stains on the rug. Chips on the tile in the bathroom. Lights unplugged so I had to go in search of outlets, which was just a bit tricky having arrived after dark. But the beds and pillows were lovely and comfortable, and that's essentially what we came for. The downside: with the rooms facing the parking lot, leaving the window open didn't work. Too much noise out there. But closing the window and turning on either the AC or the fan, both were very very noisy. Hard to fall asleep to. And breakfast was adequate, considering it was free, but nothing special.

Nicely run, nicely kept, very clean hotel. Staff was quite courteous and friendly. Nice place to stay and also get a swim in on a mid winter getaway trip through Vermont.
