Lakeview rooms are wonderful! We took the public bus to & from the airport with the stop right in front of the hotel. Would have liked some porrige/oatmeal on the breakfast buffet. I appreciated the kichen microwaving my leftovers...good staff, thank you.

So close to everything and our room was super quiet at night, so we all slept well. The buffet breakfast is superb and filled us up until dinner and the view from the restaurant is amazing. All of the staff were very helpful (especially Ivonne and Johnathon) We would definitely stay here again.

By 20:30 pm, most guests that would be staying the night should be at the hotel by then. Any room that is vacant has probably lost any more chances of generating revenue that night. So why not give a customer a free upgrade which actually cost the hotel nothing? That goodwill would cost the hotel chain 10 x more in marketing budget. IHG spend so much in advertising trying to reach a customer. So when a customer is already inside your hotel, the staff can buy this guest’s loyalty for nothing. However, this concept was foreign to the reception staff at checkin.

The Crowne Plaza Hotel is conveniently located in downtown Queenstown across the street from the Boardwalk and Lake Whakatipu. There are many good restaurants and stores within walking distance and it gets most of the essentials right; front desk personnel were welcoming and efficient, my room was clean, the bed was comfortable, it had an electric kettle, coffee and tea and a small refrigerator and there was hot water, good water pressure and efficient drainage in the shower. In other ways the Crowne Plaza Queenstown does not meet expectations; it advertised a 'courtyard view,' which turned out to be a very small space outside the patio door shared by all the other rooms facing the 'courtyard,' with no chairs, little space and a view only of the street several feet away. If you are going to spend any time in your room, you will probably want a view over the lake and preferably a few floors up from the ground floor. Also the bathroom in my room was old and in need of updating; the basin had cracks and while I was there the plastic covering on the bathroom light fell off. I expected more considering the high cost of these accommodations.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Crowne Plaza in Queenstown. The staff are lovely, the location is perfect and the rooms were clean and spacious. Only downside was the breakfast buffet, which was just OK. All in all however it’s a great place to stay!

Excellent staff. Very friendly and supportive. Location was superb. Close to attractions and restaurants. Easily walkable. Room clean and quiet. Bath and shower were very welcome after a long road trip. Boil water advisory on in Queenstown but that is not fault of hotel. Would stay again in a heartbeat.

The only complaint I have to make is we could hear people in the adjacent rooms through interconnecting doors. apart from this we had an enjoyable stay and was very fortunate to leave before the devastating floods. We hope you can all recover quickly and get all the help you need.

The best stay in Queenstown!
Love love love. Room had great soundproofing, room was extremely comfortable and clean. Location is gold as town is right there and you do not need to hike the hill like other places on offer. Breakfast provided was amazing and 100% worth it if you like food ! When we come back to Queenstown we will definitely be staying here !

Nice hotel, convenient to town. Breakfast was good and staff friendly. We were unaware of the parking charge until we went to leave. It would have been helpful if this had been offered as an optional extra like the breakfast had been so we were aware in advance and had a choice about making use of this service.

We enjoyed our stay at the Crowne, the staff and service were fantastic along with it's location (you can't get much more central!) however the facilities and rooms were dated and needs upgrading. Aircon wasn't very good and it's the only place I've stayed in NZ without heated towel racks. A heater in the room would've been nice instead of having to have the aircon on 24/7 to keep warm.
