We booked a king size room with lake views, and upon check in were told we were being ‘upgraded’ to a premium room with two double beds 🙄 I requested the room I originally booked with a queen bed, and was then told their was ‘maintenance’ happening. The only other option was a room with a double bed and a single bed, so basically we had no choice but the room they gave us. No apology given, or discount, they just continued to act like this was an ‘upgrade’. Conditions were to be expected based on the price point. Older motel in need of renovations. Overall displeased with the experience and would not recommend to others.

It was amazing having free breakfast and hot chocolate any time you wanted it. The staff was helpful and friendly. Our room was very clean and comfortable and we had a beautiful view of the Remarkables mountain range and water!

Such a dirty and old hotel experience
The hotel room was so old and dirty looking. Sink faucet in the bathroom was close to the wall of sink so made it so tough to wash hands without touching the wall of the sink. Very low pressure water. They also charge us 2% additional for credit card fees in addition to parking fee

Upon arrival, we were advised that the card machine does not work for eftpos/debit payment and that we can only make our payment via paywave. This was annoying as it means we were forced to pay the surcharge. Rajesh, who was on the front desk then tried to charge bond separately as well which then meant we would have had another $15 surcharge taken from us. I then respectfully called him out and said " what are you doing, i am not making the payment twice" and he immediately knew that what he was doing was not okay. Rajesh then said we don't have to pay the bond and that is fine. We were happy with that, we also VERY CLEARLY advised that we will not be using the property carpark of $20 per night. Upon checkout we were charged for every night that we stayed saying we used the parking which we definitely did not. This is clearly just the workers trying to rip us off and it was very obvious from the start that this is whats happening. As soon as we said we didn't park there they were like :"oh oh oh and removed it acting stupid. I wonder how many foreigners are being ripped off here ! Its also pathetic that i called twice before check in to advise this was a very special occasion for us and that we would like to be suited in a room with a bit more privacy (the one with the balcony). we were promised that the staff would accommodate our request. Rajesh then told me there were no notes on my file for the room request which is untrue. Disgraceful customer service we won't be back !

Excellent views of the mountains and water views. Some of the amenities like heating and fan in toilet weren’t working. Had a spot inside room next to bathroom some water leaked damage. Had some electrical tripping issue which was fixed after talking to reception. Room was very clean and was very good breakfast and hospitality. If the issues mentioned above were fixed then I would say this is 5 star. Still not a bad hotel as I absolutely loved the views and breakfast and cleanliness of the room

I was very frustrated with my communication with this hotel I did book through Expedia but for only two days. When I realized I needed to stay for four days I communicated that I need the same room. This didn’t happen but it was finally settled as I waited for room to be ready. I was not allowed to add on to booking, or cancel or assure that I would have the same room. This was 2-3 weeks before my arrival and I would have thought that they could have easily extended my stay for 4 days without complications. I disagree with the $200 charge to credit card too for a damage deposit. I will be hesitant ti book at IHG hotel again.
