Good tropical setting for hotel
Posted Dec 27, 2015
If you like nature, tropical plants and wildlife, this place has them. We saw more of both tropical plants and wildlife here than we did on tour of national forest, but Byblos has a lot to be desired. If you have problems walking steps, this place is not for you. The bungalow we stayed in was 68 steps up or down and pretty steep.
The facility needs a lot of upgrading. The structure seems relatively old, although the grounds are well kept. The pool is constantly being cleared of all the leaves from plants. The rooms are very dark. They had an 18" TV and the remote signal won't reach the TV while lying in bed. They are very tight on room amenities, one wash clothe, 2 towels, bed linens changed every 3 days. We asked for toilet paper around 6 p.m. and was told everyone was gone and they could not get to it. Extra coffee if requested is also tight.
The Bistro (restaurant) breakfast is very good. The dinner entrees we were not impressed at all. I would suggest any of the well known restaurants in the area for dinners rather than here. Especially El Avion, which was exceptional. All employees were very pleasant and helpful but that can't make up for the overall facility.
