Loved the Rain Forest
What a unique property. Jose was the key asset to this property, his attention and land stewardship shows deeply.

Adventurous Stay Off the Beaten Path
We booked the Yurt for a different experience in Costa Rica, one that would get us closer to the flora and fauna of the rain forest. We had been to the resorts in Manuel Antonio/Quepos before, but were looking for something a little more interesting. Agua Pura did not disappoint. We booked thinking we were just getting a place to stay, but were surprised by all the perks that came with the booking, which really made the experience special for us. First, we were introduced (online) to our concierge Jose who communicated with us prior to our arrival and was there to welcome us into the property. He actually met us at a local grocery store that was easy to find and led us down the road. We were glad he did since the road to the property goes pretty far off the main road and had a couple of turns that could have been easily missed. We were definitely happy that we rented a 4x4 with 3 creeks to cross and some pretty rough terrain in spots. It was a bumpy, but a fun excursion getting to and from the property each day. Jose also stopped to point out places of interest along the way. Once we arrived, Jose helped fire up the gas-powered refrigerator and got out some of the Luci lights so we could see our way around (it's probably best to arrive in the daylight if you can). The Yurt was actually larger than anticipated with plenty of sleeping space for 4 adults and 3 kids. The photos don't quite show how much space there is, so we were pleased that there was more than enough. We had coffee and breakfast prepared for us each morning, which was another great perk (thanks for that Jose) and made starting the day out that much easier. Housekeeping was also included, which also made things easier for us. Jose was there to lead us up and down the road each time we left or came back. He was very flexible as our timing wasn't always as planned. He also took us on a couple of hikes around the area, and even a night hike to check out animals and insects. One of the best perks of staying at the Yurt is access to the beach club in Manuel Antonio/Quepos. The beach club is located right on Espadilla beach and has private parking available and a very helpful staff. The showers after the beach were much needed and appreciated. Again, we would highly recommend the Yurt if you are looking for something a little different than just staying at the resorts. Definitely make sure you have a 4x4 to get through the drive and take advantage of the beach club.

Truly Unique
If you want to have a truly unique experience, stay in this yurt on the river. The yurt itself is spacious, and the beds are comfortable. A delicious breakfast is provided. There is no electricity, so you really are disconnecting. The pool is gorgeous and the view of the river is stunning. The local dog, Brownie, became our best pal and followed us everywhere we went. But the best thing about our stay in the yurt was Tico. He was a gracious host, made us feel welcome and safe, and even guided us down the river to a beautiful waterfall. We consider him a friend now. Thanks Tico for a wonderful getaway. We hope to see you again one day. Pura Vida!

Great Family Adventure Vacation Spot!
We had a wonderful experience at Agua Pura! Compared to the overcommercialized town of Quepos, it was such a wonderful opportunity to stay off the beaten path and connect with nature. We all enjoyed the river swimming hole and jumping off the “cliff” into the waterfall pool. The food provided by the caretakers was amazing! The best part was having Jose serve as guide both on-site and in town. If your looking for some quality non-electronic family time, this is your place!

Amazing property off the beaten path
Our family of 5 (boys ages 10, 9 and 5) had a wonderful stay at the yurt. We stayed for 2 nights at the end of March and truly disconnected from the world and reconnected as a family (in only 2 nights)! The location is magnificent. It's located way off the beaten path on a beautiful roaring river that is perfect for exploring. The yurt, itself, is great! The beds are firm and comfortable. The layout is open and airy with 3 bedrooms. The outdoor space is exceptional. From the grounds, which include a gravity fed pool, hammocks everywhere and tons of seating areas, it's easy to find a perfect place to relax, while the kids jump on the trampoline, swim or explore. The owners are gracious and near by to help in anyway. They had the perfect balance of being available but also giving us space and privacy. We opted for them to provide 3 meals a day, which were delicious. They were also available to help us navigate our way down river to the waterfalls. Their girls were out of school for Good Friday and befriended our boys. They played for hours and of our 9 days in Costa Rica, it was the boys' favorite part. It's an exceptional property and experience. We would recommend it to anyone wanting to get off the beaten path, enjoy nature and relax.
