Good central hotel for a visit to Quito.

Posted Aug 21, 2017 on Hotels
Very helpful staff, and a nice building. Located right in the historic center, good place to stay. Good breakfast too. Overall we'd stay here again, but two areas for improvement: the water in the shower was warm for only about one minute and then freezing, and the beds were more decorative than comfortable (hard mattresses, textile quilts, shaky/squeaky bedframe).

Pretty nice hotel in a convenient place

Posted Aug 7, 2017
The hotel is more than I expected. The staff are excellent, very helpful and always with smiles on their faces. Free breakfast is sumptuous and taste good. The room is super clean and supplies of new towels are available everyday. I will definitely stay in this hotel again. I will recommend it to my friends, co - workers and family.

This is a solid choice full of character, and with some awesome people working there. The reasons that I didn't give it 5 stars were that the internet is woefully (and frustratingly) intermittent, and you can't access the property with your key. That is, you need to ring the doorbell and wait for someone to grant you access. There are security reasons to this, but that is small comfort as you are standing on the street, worrying about your own security. But, don't let that put you off. The building is full of character, and as I mentioned, the staff are awesome.

Location of hotel is not safe for families

Posted Feb 23, 2017 on Orbitz
Cons: Improve Internet service, get better pillows, let families know of location issues
Location: it was convenient to the old town. It may be a great Hostel for singles or couples, but not ideal for families.
Alba was a great host. She took great care of us. The location of the hotel was not safe for families, although it was convenient to the old town. It may be a great Hostel for singles or couples, but not ideal for families. The Internet service was lacking and the beds were not comfortable, with pillows as hard as wood.

Thank you for sharing your review. We will improve in that problems you mentioned. Our location is perfect to walk the old town and we have near to the hostel the stops for main public transportation systems, maybe you cannot see the best faces but this is the reality of the city. Kind regards.

Great hotel centrally located for base camp

Posted Jan 31, 2017 on Hotels
The hotel is in the old town on a corner with a bus stop (local) and two blocks away from the main transportation hubs. Lots of small, local, eateries. Walking distance to most every place you want to go. Hotel staff is very nice and helpful. Breakfast consists of eggs, fruit, toast, coffee, milk, juice. It's in an old colonial building, which is part of its charm. Do not expect American style hotel. 4 bed room had a balcony which is great for people watching. It is a city and as we faced the road, there was typical city street noise. They'll do your laundry 12 pieces for $3 USD.

Decent hostel centrally located in Old Town

Posted Jan 19, 2017
Pleasant accommodations that were very safe and clean with free breakfast each morning and a safety deposit box in the room. But, there are no other amenities. Basic services otherwise (e.g. bring your own shampoo!) Front desk workers were fine especially Elba who had a great personality and whose English was very good!

Convenient to historical centre, but is a hostel

Posted Jan 5, 2017 on Hotels
This is more of a hostel than a hotel; just make sure your expectations are in check. Very helpful staff. But room configuration is that the windows face into central internal area, and no other air source, so keeping windows open means lots of noise. Good location with respect to historical centre, and cheap eats around. Outside the hostel is a little chaotic, being near a major transport hub, but the staff escorted me to and from my taxis to make sure everything was good. Free bottled water was a really nice touch.

Hi, Thanks for the comment, Yes, that's right, we aren't a hotel, we are hostel, Mia Leticia Hostel. We have rooms with outside windows too, you can ask for one of those. We are ubicated in the old town, maybe you cannot find here the better faces but this is the reality of the city. Hope you are ok, and thanks again for the review, was a pleasure for us to serve you, this is your house. Best regards, Mia Leticia Staff.

Great hotel for the price. Service was excellent. Area outside the hotel is a bit sketchy, especially at night.
