It is in the middle of an area that is blocked off at night for drinking and partying. The cab had no to park 3 blocks away and walk us in with our bags. The party went on all night long and music vibrated the walls. The refrigerator only looked like a fridge, it kept stuff room temp. No more than 2 people in the elevator at a time. The fire alarm battery was going off every minute the fist night, so they just removed the fire alarm. Not so safe. Breakfast was ok continental, no creamer for coffee. They even called my tour organizers to let them know that I had arrived at the hotel and arranged my pick-up time. I have no hesitation in recommending this hotel. Excellent location also. This was a very good Expedia hotel compared with the disaster that was Golden Cairo hotel in Cairo Egypt which I had the misfortune to experience last April. Nu House was an excellent choice and the kind of hotel that Expedia should be associated with.

OK for a couple nights
Visited a sister who is living in Quito and decided on this hotel because of location and the pictures of accommodations. The location is great with all the restaurants and nightlife right outside your door and the staff was mostly helpful (the bell hops were excellent help!). The pictures of the rooms helped our selection but was disappointed on arrival as it was more run down than expected. For $93 a night for 3 people, I wouldn’t stay here again as it is a little steep for what you get. The beds were comfortable but the room was a little tight for 3 people. The bathroom is large however the dim lighting and dark stone tile throughout made it feel really dingy. Overall, the pictures left us disappointed on a arrival. Book your own transport or have them call a airport taxi. For three people they would have charged us $108 when a taxi would be $25 - albeit they would have booked a private van transfer. Uber is everywhere in Quito and it’s cheap too!

location of the hotel was great. one thing that comes to mind that I did not totally like was that the bathroom was dark (dark green tiles) very modern though. I like bright white bathrooms. and another thing I did not really like was the breakfast served. front desk was great. information of the bellman was great. they offered us extra pillows in the room. Oh the elevator took me a couple of times up and down and did not stop on my floor

If there were 10 stars I could give, I would. First and foremost for me was the beyond excellent service I received from Byron Albuja at the front desk! He helped me arrange two days of activities and a taxi to and from the hotel before we even arrived in Quito. The prices for our activiities and the taxi were excellent as well as the guide/driver we were set up with. Byron communicated via email very prompt and made our two days in Quito stress free and very enjoyable. The hotel was very nice and clean. The breakfast was delicious and wait staff was very good as well. I would recommend the Nu House for first time visitors (especially) but older timers as well.

The check-in process was simple and quick. The location was in the heart of a young and lively part of the city. I was a bit disappointed that the hotel did not have many amenities such as a gym. The buffet breakfast was average but the staff members working the breakfast were great and friendly. I would stay here again.

Right next to Plaza Foch, the main spot of La Mariscal neighborhood, full of bars and restaurants. You get welcome drinks in a nearby bar, plus 10% discount in another restaurant. Sound isolation is great. Beds were comfortable and the shower had good pressure. The hotel feels very fresh and modern. Breakfast is basic but very good. All staff was very nice to us.

We stayed at the Nu House Boutique hotel for two days in September. The hotel is in the Plaza Foch entertainment district where there are many restaurants and bars. We were there on a Saturday and Sunday night, and despite the sound proofing of the windows, we still heard the noise at night. (Room on the first floor) On Sunday and Monday, there were fewer people in Plaza Foch and no noise at night. It was quite pleasant to walk around there then without the crowds of people. We stayed in a triple room. The room was wide enough for the three beds, but not quite long enough for three people to walk around in, with suitcases. The room was clean and comfortable otherwise. The bathroom was a bit too dark and needed more lights. The complimentary water was also a nice touch. There is also a business center with computers which was helpful and we had no issues with the Wifi in the room. The breakfast is served at 630 am in the dining room with very standard breakfast items. The front desk staff were pleasant. However some of the staff did not seem very comfortable speaking English. As we don't speak Spanish, we did rely on the staff for help with transportation, tours and enquiries. I thought that the staff could have been more proactive with our enquiries as I had to follow up a few times with them. (Note that this hotel does not have a concierge who would normally help out with these enquiries.) Overall the hotel is fine. However if I were to stay in Quito again I would probably

There was a female that checked us in and was really rude. We had to ask theee times on two different days for someone to fix the refrigerator. All of the other staff was amazing, including the two gentlemen that helped at breakfast, they should get a raise.

Wonderful & Helpful
When we arrived at the hotel , my daughter was feeling ill. Our driver called ahead and the staff was waiting to help. They could not have been nicer. From tea to towels, anything we needed, they were great! The beds were very comfortable and the room was clean. I’d say the only slight negative was the location . It was definitely in a happening part of town. Unfortunately, we didn’t have too much time to explore Quito, but it was walking distance to a local market and easy to taxi anywhere . There were many restaurants very close by.

Nice hotel with wonderful staff!
The hotel staff here were so hospitable. They did everything to help meet our needs and helped us have a wonderful stay. They even gave us a packed box meal when we left early on our last day, before breakfast was officially served. This is in a good area where there is certainly more night life going on. Even so, we didn't find that it bothered our stay. There was just one night that was difficult and we couldn't sleep well and it was from the sirens that kept going off located on the police trailer down the street. After that one night, we had no problems at all. The room was clean and certainly met our needs. Breakfast was a hot buffet with eggs, fruit, cereal, and daily specials. I would stay here again! It's a short taxi ride to Old Town and only cost $3. A few blocks away are some great shopping areas, such as the Mercado Artesenal.

Good location. Relatively quiet considering proximity to Foch plaza. The balcony was nice but the door didn’t close fully or lock. The lights in the room flickered on and off like strobe lights all night when the switch was in the off position. Good breakfast. Staff was pleasant.

Good for active young people who like loud music
We enjoyed our visit even though it was in a very busy square that had loud music blaring late into the night. The hotel staff was very helpful and the location was convenient for walking to many restaurants and shops. The room was rather small and had only one chair but I guess that is why the price wasn't very high.

Pleasant stay
I booked this hotel for 4 days and I have to say that it was a very pleasant stay. Location was great! Right in Plaza Foch. Lot of restaurants and night life around hotel. Artisans market walking distance. Complimentary breakfast and quality was good. Staff was very nice, helpful and courteous. I would recommend this hotel.

Another chain to boycott for limiting my comfort!
Good location in heart of Foch. New-ish hotel. Ceilings are absurdly low. Wanted to love this hotel, but will boycott all hotels in Nu House enterprise for two basic reasons: 1) The hotel has installed limiters on the A/C units and taken away a patrons control over their personal comfort. They may have saved $2-3 at my discomfort, but their water bill will be excessively high as I left the shower running all night long for 5 nights. Your loss Nu House. 2) The 'Queen' bed is actually two small beds pushed together. Very hard and comfortable with a 'spine' running down the middle. FALSE advertising. I am so tired of hotels that are dishonest about the the basic furniture they provide. The breakfast was good. Nightlife noise until 3am so you can't sleep with the windows open.

Great hotel in a great location
A really nice and friendly hotel in the middle of a great district in Quito. The front staff are friendly and helpful. The hotel is remarkably quiet for being in a noisy, happening local. Highly recommended.

The staff are very helpful and the hotel is is a great location. The room itself was badly lit as was the bathroom. Not sure what the concept for the lighting was but it would help to have some lamps next to the beds. The hotel was a bit overpriced.
