Great Old Town Hotel

Posted Apr 7, 2018
We were happy with this hotel for two reasons. First, it's a great location if you want to be able to walk around the old town. It was nice to be so close to everything and we could easily stop back at our room for a nap or something we forgot to bring. Second, the breakfast view is awesome, looking out over the square and also the Virgen de Quito statue. The food was good, too. The food and view made for a lovely relaxed start to our days. The rooms themselves are simple but clean. The staff was friendly. The "king bed" was two twins pushed together. Bring ear plugs, some rooms have street noise. I'd come back.

Good place

Posted Mar 23, 2018
The location is right in the old part of Quito. Very walkable to a lot of places, including La Ronda. We did have some problems with the lights and power, but the staff was super responsive and fixed it very quickly. We had a great stay.

Beautiful colonial hotel in perfect location

Posted Mar 5, 2018
I had a wonderful stay here. The staff went to extremes to ensure they did everything for me, everyone very friendly and welcoming. The location in on the corner of Plaza Santo Domingo is perfect for walking around Centro Historico. The view from the restaurant is really quite awe inspiring, especially at night. Calle La Ronda which contains a plethora of lovely bars and restaurants is only a 2 minute walk away. A taxi to El Teleferico (which is stunning) was only $5-6, and the hotel arrange a taxi to the airport for $25, which considering the distance is good value. The nearest bus terminal is the southern end of the city, Terminal Quitumbre, I got a taxi from there for $7 (make sure they put the meter on), but I was told that from Terminal Terceren in the north of the city it was $12, so not too bad either way. Buses from Otavalo can come to either terminal.

Great location in Quito's Centro Historico

Posted Nov 13, 2017
Very nice family-run hotel in an excellent location walkable to all of the old town historical sites and restaurants. The staff was great and the best part was the view of Plaza Santo Domingo from the upstairs restaurant. Breakfast was included. Highly recommended and good value for the price.

Pretty Good

Posted Sep 16, 2017
Pros: Hotel staff was nice and helpful. Many spoke some English. The restaurant upstairs has a nice view and the food was good.
Cons: The showers are tiny and mine leaked so I had a big puddle on the floor after a shower. Not great for larger people!
Location: Other than the obvious sites, check out El Museo del Carmen Alto for an inside look at the life of nuns. Take a tour for better understanding.
This is nicely located in the Historic District. Everything around shuts down at night, which makes it quiet. Very close to La Ronda for restaurants and artistic shops. Rooms OK - clean. Beds comfy and sheets perfectly clean. If you travel by yourself, the room will be small. Better rooms for 2 or more persons. Some partying on the weekend but that may not be your experience. Right next to Plaza Santo Domingo. Nice view of El Panecillo, especially at night. Even though it is mid-range, know that Ecuador is still a 3rd world country. Be open minded. The hotel could use a fresh paint job but otherwise, in good condition.

Staying at Real Audiencia

Posted Sep 16, 2017
Pros: We had a rental car and I was afraid that we will have problem locating a parking garage , however, we had no problems parking there.
Cons: If possible, clean the carpets or remove them.
Location: Within walking distance to many place in the center of Quito.
The hotel is located near La Plaza de Santo Domingo, near La Ronda. The Hotel is a nice place to stay, The personnel at the Hotel were very helpful, very polite. It was indeed a nice experience.

Wonderful hotel.

Amazing location, staff, and view from the breakfast room. Breakfast was plentiful, varied, and yummy! Parking in a secure garage for $12 a night, and spacious room and bathroom made this perfectly located hotel even better.

We loved this hotel. Each staff member we met was polite, friendly, attentive, and helpful. Tried my best to speak Spanish and they were encouraging, but when I failed they could generally speak English very well. The breakfast was a generous buffet with plenty of options. The location is perfect. We were lucky enough to get a free upgrade to a large corner suite with a view of the plaza across the way. It was a bit noisy due to traffic, but we had earplugs and slept just fine. The hotel itself has a special feel to it and was the nicest place we stayed in during our stay in Ecuador. We will hopefully return some day and stay here again. Thank you for making us feel so welcome!
