This is an exceptional hotel in Ragusa. Parking is very difficult in Ragusa. The staff takes your car and parks is somewhere and brings it back when you leave. The hotel itself is stunning, a small, boutique property that was rebuilt after an earthquake several years ago. The steps to the second floor are stone, from the 14th century. The walls are the beautiful light stone found all around Ragusa. The room was small, but lovely. The staff is exceptional. They understand that parking is difficult, finding the hotel can be a challenge, and they do everything they can to make it easier, and your stay delightful. I can't say enough about this hotel. I loved it.

Beautiful old building, many original details like stone arches across the property. Staff was wonderful, very helpful, parked the car and carried our luggage in the room. Negatives: shower was in an arched area, impossible to shower without bending; tub didn't drain well and specs of dirt were floating in the standing water. Dust was falling from the stone arch to the point that the floor in front of the bed had sand all over in the morning. Street was noisy, we were awaken at 6-7am. At arrival we were told that breakfast was not included, and that breakfast was 30 Euro/person, more than a breakfast at a 5 stars hotel. Overall, was not as good as expected.

It was a pleasant stay at Locanda Don Serafino. The staffs were very friendly and welcoming. The room is nice equipped with everything we need. Amenities are niche and nice. Wifi is a bit slow but it works. Don’t forget to try their restaurant, it is the best I’ve ever had in Sicily.

Property location is great. Suite and Restaurant located very far from main lobby and building. However the staff was great and very helpful. Suite had a very humid smell and dehumidifier, a/c filters and exhaust vents were extremely dirty. Did expect this hotel to be a lot better.

Hotel?
Very good service and staff. This is very small hotel, with no real amenities. Small reception area with a sofa and a tiny breakfast room. With three groups of two and the two servers( due to covid) it was cramped. They moved us to another room which was much better but this was a separate room which felt more like an Airbandb. I paid pretty much for a basic room but was expecting more from Relais and Chateaux hotel. Moved us but I really don’t see how this constitutes being a hotel is more of a B and B. Good staff nice breakfast.

The staff of the hotel namely Martina, Daniela, Alesso and the manager, Alex, made our stay special. They are all very friendly, attentive to our needs and very accommodating to our requests. They booked 2 of the most spectacular meals we had during our stay. The restaurants are both 2 stars Michelin, Duomo and their very own Locanda don Serafino. Would highly recommend this hotel to friends. They only have 10 rooms thus, service rendered is highly personalized.

Romantic stay in a cave
We Loved the location in Ragusa Elba (the old part of town) but driving to the hotel is a lil difficult. They will valet but the free parking lot isn't hard to find once you get directions from the first desk. We arrived in the early evening and the location is fabulous to walk all around. So much charm. The room itself was very cool with its cave-like decor. The receptionist was great in providing a map and lots of local recommendations. The room we had does not have a bathroom door but that didn't bother us at all. So it will depend on who you're traveling with. We would def stay there again.

This is a very unique and original hotel. I loved it and it's location is great. The room was very clean and very charming and has lots of nice details. Since it's built in such an old building they did what they could and did a great job but our shower was a bit uncomfortable and I could imagine that for big and tall people this hotel might not be so confortable. I personally loved it and I would definitely be happy to stay there again.

Great Last Night
Last night in Sicily. Very comfortable stay, lovely room; maybe a little small if you were staying for a few days. Every convenience catered for. We were able to park just 20 metres down the road and were welcomed with a complimentary hot drink whilst checking in. Great old building tastefully refurbished. Stairs up from reception a little steep with big steps.

Quirky but lovely hotel
A fantastic, quirky hotel in the middle of Ragusa so therefore very noisy. The hotel is built into the hill so the stairs are indeed uneven and challenging for the less mobile but they were not an issue for us. We had booked a Junior Suite and initially were given room 11 where the bathroom (including the loo) was IN the bedroom with NO doors. This was not what we had booked so we spoke to the very helpful reception staff who moved us to another Junior Suite, with sofa area, bathroom with door, all exactly as we had initially booked! The breakfasts are a cold buffet style, functional and serve a purpose without being anything particularly exciting. The restaurant was fantastic and we had the set lunch menu which was fabulous and within in our budget. Overall it's a very unusual but lovely hotel with very helpful friendly staff. The only downside is the noise of the road and area and the unfortunate room issue that we had on arrival, but otherwise it is a great place to stay.

A place you absolutely should visit.
Amazing city and very friendly people. Very easy to navigate and incredible vistas from high points in the area. If you have a car park it as soon as possible. Streets are great for walking, but unless you are a local navigating these narrow streets is beyond your pay grade.

Historic Charm in Ragussa
Top class hotel with a related Michelin starred restaurant. Located in the historic Ibla district of Ragussa not far from the famous Duomo. The hotel is literally carved into the rock face with unique rooms. Great breakfast too.

Beware of uneven stairs, in the bathroom you might easily hit your head . Breakfast is just ok. Locations is good parking is a problem. Staff did not speak english we needed to wait for 30 mins for reception. Confirmation was not there and they made us wait until the owner speaks to the reception guy.

Stone rooms in the old town.
This hotel is a nice 15min stroll from the old town. I recommend staying here if you are looking for a rustic, stone room feel. The rooms can smell of damp. We were in room 8 and they moved us to 9 with a massive bathtub and bigger bathroom! The service is mixed, the porter man is very kind and helpful and parked are car nearby and offered to help move our bags in the rain - he was always smiling but the woman at reception desk seems to be always on the phone making personal calls and not very interested in helping the guests. Breakfast is small and very basic - you have to ask the lady at the bar for milk if your cereal, which is a bit weird. Overall a nice place with great rooms. Might be cold in winter but in the summer it's great.

Charming little hotel on a charming little town
The hotel is on Ragusa Ibla, the lower town, which has the Duomo and where tourists are more likely to linger. Upper Ragusa is accessible on foot. The hotel owners run a Michelin-starred restaurant in the vicinity, but the reception desk was kind enough to recommend two trattorias with more traditional fare. My room was fairly tiny, particularly the bathroom, the design of which required some ingenuity due to the very limited space available. Still, a very convenient option for a stop-over on this charming little town.

Tiny, friendly hotel
When full this hotel has 22 guests, it must have nearly as many staff. It is built into the side of the hill, like most things in Ragussa Ibla and hence has a lot of stairs but it is worth climbing them to get to the characterful rooms. Breakfast, which is on offer for four hours in the morning, has a wide range of cheeses, cold meat, cakes fruit and yoghurt. Plus fruit juice tea/ coffee etc. We had a nightmare journey to Sicily, entirely the fault of Rome airport The hotel staff, who had booked us a taxi from the airport, kept in touch with us and the taxi driver so that when we finally arrived seven hours late, the taxi was still waiting and reception staff were available to greet us. What more could you ask for?

The Private Beach at Ragusa Marina is an Extra which you have to pay for, so in reality it has no facilities if you exclude the Bar/Breakfast Room. The standard of breakfast fare was extremely poor the same every morning with the choice of fruit reducing as the week progressed. The shower was so small u could hardly turn around and the quality of the bathroom facilities poor. Overall very poor value for the money and a hugh disappointment

Atmospheric Hotel
This is a great base from which to explore wonderfully quaint Ragusa. It is a 10 minute stroll up and down hill to the Piazza del Duomo; just far enough to make you feel like you're living in the city. The breakfast is great, excellent pastries; I wish we would have a few more mornings to try them all. My only complaint is the shotty internet, which only really worked in the lobby.

L'hotel è delizioso e il personale disponibile e gentilissimo. Centrale rispetto al centro e molto curato. Un disagio è l'assenza di un parcheggio e un aspetto davvero fastidioso è il rumore continuo la notte. Le camere si affacciano su una stradina in salita dove passano le macchine, motorini, pedoni, etc... un rumore costante fino alle 2 di notte. Impossibile dormire con la finestra aperta. Anche con le imposte chiuse, per niente facile dormire in silenzio. Peccato

Qualcosa da rivedere
Personale gentilissimo e disponibile, posizione eccezionale. Qualche pecca: La Pulizia Lascia a desiderare, terra sul pavimento, camminando scalza avevo i piedi neri, muro con tracce di sangue e copriletto impolverato. Tutto ciò non può succedere in un hotel 4 stelle. Ho chiesto di aggiungere una persona, chi mi ha risposto è stata gentilissima, ma il letto in più era un divano letto da una piazza e mezza per due persone. Su Hotels.com tra i servizi viene elencata la spiaggia privata, senza specificare che è un servizio a pagamento. Ovviamente arrivati sul posto abbiamo dovuto pagare le postazioni. Per ultimo con le restrizioni covid la colazione non può essere fatta a buffet, rispetto pienamente le regole ma sarebbe opportuno organizzarsi con più personale.

Gentile Maddalena, La ringraziamo per il tempo dedicato a recensire il suo soggiorno e ci dispiace non essere stati informati di eventuali malcontenti durante la sua vacanza o al check-out. Leggendo il suo commento ne sono rimasto colpito ed ho personalmente verificato quanto menzionato. Mi permetta di chiarire che il pavimento della struttura è in pietra pece naturale (ovvero nera) e pertanto è possibile che camminando a piedi nudi ci si ritrovi ad avere tracce del colore della pietra. Sulla menzione di tracce di sangue ho immediatamente controllato la camera insieme alla responsabile e nessuno di noi ha individuato ciò da lei menzionato, se fosse stato reale comprenderebbe che sarebbe un atto veramente increscioso e pericoloso da informare immediatamente il personale. In merito al divano letto, come comunicatole via email e nella conferma della sua prenotazione è menzionato che trattasi di un divano-letto (sofa bed) e non di un letto singolo, pertanto non comprendiamo la ragione di tale menzione in seguito. Spiaggia privata. Purtroppo l'impostazione del portale da lei utilizzato per effettuare la prenotazione non permette di specificare o fornire ulteriori dettagli in merito ma noterà comunque che l'hotel e il lido sono situati in due paesi differenti e con nomi differenti. Inoltre la camera da lei acquistata includeva camera e prima colazione. Infine, sul servizio della colazione le presento le nostre scuse, quella mattina abbiamo avuto delle difficoltà che purtroppo hanno avuto una ricaduta sul servizio e di cui, come può notare, ne ammettiamo il disguido da cui ne abbiamo fatto giovamento per migliorare. Pour être au cœur de la ville de Raguse Ibla
L'hôtel Locanda Don Serafino Hotel occupe des anciens bâtiments en plein cœur d'Ibla, le centre historique de Raguse, à proximité immédiate des centres d’intérêts que offre cette magnifique ville. Nous y avons séjourné 1 nuit dans une junior suite .. A postériori (en regardant les photos du site) nous pensons avoir été logés dans une chambre de catégorie inférieure n’offrant pas de vue et avec une mauvaise insonorisation ! Le charme du site est indéniable, le revers inévitable de la médaille étant l’exiguïté de tout : salle de bain, salle de petit déjeuner, petit salon de lecture …. Le label Relais & Châteaux exigerait davantage d’attentions. Au niveau de l’hôtel, la salle du bar ou est servi le petit déjeuner mériterait d’être repensée complètement ainsi que les toilettes connexes qui en l’état n’offrent aucune intimité (porte ne fermant pas). Le célèbre restaurant du même nom, le Locanda Don Serafino, occupe un site de toute beauté dans la roche et offre une expérience culinaire de grande qualité, mais ne semble pas valoir la récompense de 2 étoiles au guide Michelin. Note positive : la gentillesse du staff et la prise en charge rapide de la voiture à l’arrivée (ce qui vous évite de vous perdre dans les ruelles étroites de la ville).

Your reservation was for one Junior Suite and we assigned it, maybe you didn’t read carefully the room description and the information provided in the email confirmation, so some rooms are located in the next building at 20 meters from reception and any rooms have view. Concerning the soundproofing, you didn’t report it to the front desk team, we could take care. About your expectation as Relais & Chateaux, you should have understood the location and the spaces available, it’s not a label issue. I and the team will appreciate your feedback about the redesign of the spaces, please contact us and we will be happy to know your help to improve Locanda Don Serafino experience.
